Hey there! Was roaming through warseer and saw a couple banners in signatures for this place.. I did some lurking around and think you sound like a good bunch of blokes. Anyway, I'm CJ or Servius. Note.. Servius as in "to serve" not Severus as in "to sever". The name comes from Servius Tullius the 6th King of Rome and the man who formed the framework of the Republic. not some fictional wizard from a children's literary title. I hail from the Former U.S.S.R., but have lived in the U.S. since I was 7 years old and consider myself American. I currently live in Reno, Nevada. I have owned every army at least once save Dark Eldar and Tyranids. and have been playing since 2nd edition 40k. Currently I am working on a "counts as" Dark Angels RavenDeath Army and a Sisters of Battle Army. My first real army, (the one I actually got into as far a fluff and such) was the Adeptus Arbites AKA Space Cops. I really liked the idea of an IG list that could handle combat and that had come killer gear.. Shotguns with Executioner Rounds... (18" Range, Strength 4 AP 4 Assault 1 - Reroll Misses) and squads with 5+ Invulnerable save and Power Weapons (this was years before the current TH/SS combo) They were also somewhat of an underdog army.. And I think another bonus was the fact that nobody have ever played them in my area. As far as chaos.. I played Iron Warriors and World Eaters when the Index Astartes Army lists were still legal.. and A heavy Khorne Berserker force in more recent years. I'm holding out for the rumour of the return of the Cult armies before I dive back into the Eye. I also play a fair amount of Warhammer Fantasy. Beastmen is my current hitch.. but I own around 4k of every current army including Chaos Dwarfs and Dogs of War. I am notorious for conversions and great army ideas... but alas Painting never seems to get done.. (I'm actually an outstanding painter... I'm just too lazy I guess. )As far as my online presence... In the past 4 years its been pretty scarce.. I used to run a site called Rites of War which in its golden age was a rival for Bolter and Chainsword (but this was when Warseer was called Portent.net) One of the fellow founders killed the site by using it as a platform to gain confidence from members to commit mail fraud. In the end it died a slow lingering death with the modern age taking hold and warhammer sites poping up all over the place. As far as real life.. I work in a retail job (working it pretty much my entire life.. I feel like im tightcasted now.) I have a young daughter and a loving wife.. And am a trained computer technician. (not some Best Buy Geek Squad Hack that says he is a tech but is actually an iSheep with a manual.) I would call myself a dabbler in webdesign and an amateur in graphic work. I know my way around a board software and a SQL server pretty well after building 5 forums over the years and administrating them. Anyway, enough about me. I look forward to hanging around here. Thanks for the Welcoming in advance. Servius |

Hello and welcome. Well this place is still pretty new, and will be running a variety of painting and fluff writing competitions etc So I hope to see your painting soon. The board is a little older than it looks but was put on the back burner as I was making it when my little girl was born. But were currently on that early stage of a new forum where its do or die. Hopefully with a few posts we can get this place into a thriving community. |

I have found that most forums (with the exceptions of the Huge ones like Warhammer.org.uk and Warseer and the like) generally have a core of 10 to 15 active members of which 2 to 5 are transient (i.e. they go inactive for a month or so and come back) |

Yeah. But once an established member base then I could live with that. But first we need to get a member base together and get the new badab banner and name out there. |
