This is something I've given much thought since the begining of my path towards enlightenment. I always used to spout off about some "truths" being self-evident, And others not so. Given much thought about what is and isn't real was my first step, then it happened The question "What is truth?". I thought about this for a long time. I debated myself and brought the question to anyone who would listen, but no answer that I came too satisfied me they all seemed false. So instead of being literal I instead thought about this philosophically, and after a month or so I came to the conclusion "Nothing is absolute in our world." Meaning I looked at what fact was, and saw it's all perception. How we perceive truth or fact is the same. The only way for something for anything to be truth/fact is someone brought up the idea, and gave it a backing that made sense at the time. Thinking back we are very naive creatures by nature. We assumed the earth was round not that long ago, and had that belief for quite the long time. Seeing how time and again, science has time and again "proven" things that have later been revised or declared completely false. So I ask you, "In theory couldn't we be wrong about more than just what we've already decided isn't correct?" Think about this, Are we alone even on our own planet? (Not talking about Extra-Terrestials) Is walking on water possible? Is non-assisted flight possible? Or the better question; What isn't possible? - Just because it has never happened (That we know of) doesn't mean that it can't. |
