In response to the unwarrented and unsuspected whole-scale slaughter of innocent human life in Lac-à-la-Tortue, the Lanaudière government has issued a statement. Penned by Prime Minister Clément-Jean Vavasseur, the message is sent world-wide. "Shortly ago the Elvish soldier-citizens of Sy'Dora completely annhilated the city of Lac-à-la-Tortue in Lanaudière. In the cover of night, the city was set ablaze with indescriminate and before unseen heights of arial bombing, killing close to the entire population. The innocent civilians were denied the ability of escape as the elvish warships descended and bombed those trying to escape the hellfire, taking pleasure in ending the lives of the innocent Lanaudière families.

This attack was both unwarrented and unprovoked, and accomplished nothing more than extinguishing innocent lives in a fury of elvish on human blooodlust. For too long we have given these inhuman animals the benefit of our patience and civility, overlooking their crimes in the name of racial co-operation. It is clear now these savages hunger for nothing more than the destruction of humanity, and we cannot stand idly by on the sidelines allowing their behavior to continue. Our people march now in defiance of these butchers, and humbly ask our global brothers and sisters to assist us in our plight. Let us make our stand now in defiance of such aggressors, and collectively join hands to bring our world into a new age of safety for humans world-wide, bringing to fruit a world in which our precious children do not have to fear a horrific death at the hands of the elf."

The Federated States of Lumecia will adopt a stance in step with, if perhaps a bit more lenient than, their Southern neighbors. Any movement into Lumecian air-space without first consulting the Federal Government will be considered a hostile act, with appropriate measures taken.

The Republic of Jirobia will make proper arrangements to aid the people of Lanaudière whom were harmed by the in-human abominations that have so clearly showed their passion for destruction of the creations of humanity. From this point on, Jirobia will back the Lanaudière government in their plight and join hand-in-hand with the people of Lanaudière against the threat that looms above.

The Costeren government has categorically stated that it is in no position to join in the perpetuation of anti-Elven sentiments.

The Republic of Bithynia offers its full condolences to the victims of the horrendous attack on Lanaudière. We shall do everything within our capabilities to assist you in recovering from the incident. However, we will not be adopting any steps which may further increase hostilities between the Elves of Sy'Dora and the human race. We hope that this entire mishap may not be taken as a platform by which the nations of the world will categorically begin to lust for the destruction of the Elves in their entirety. In lieu of further hostilities which may yield bloodshed and further violence, it may be best suited for humanity to foster contact with Sy'Dora.

The Bundesrepublik offers condolences for the attacks, but cannot become involved in a foreign war at this time due to defensive reasons.

The Republic wishes to express its deepest condolences towards the senseless attack. Apparently, the elves, growing strong and arrogant under their all-mighty airship and the aid of the Costarans has decided that they would like to continue their 'witch-hunt' and help the humans by ridding us of these pests.

However, the Republic feels that these 'pure' elves are now the bane of humans. The Republic would also like to express its disgust towards the unfriendly poster put up by the Costaran Republic.

The accusations by the Renaissance Dominions are uncalled for. Chigrom feels that considering that our nations have developed a mutual understanding in the Amador World League, the Renaissance Dominions have stepped over the boundaries of diplomatic prudence by drawing such unjustified conclusions.

Chigrom never expressed any condonement of the Sy'Doran attacks on Lac-à-la-Tortue. We have simply stated that we will not be participating in an anti-elven crusade as we feel that our nation is neither in a position, nor has the capability, to do so. In addition, the only relationship shared between Costara and Sy'Dora is mercantile in nature; made possible because we have a common understanding with the elves and of the elven culture, because Costara, unlike all other nations on Amador, has never in its history marginalised elves for their race or exterminated them to desperation. With all due respect to the victims of Lac-à-la-Tortue, violence begets violence. It is no surprise why Sy'Dora has never developed animosity towards our people. It is for the simple fact that we accord them the deserved respect as a civilised race, while the rest of the world dismiss them as animals.

We would also kindly like to remind the Renaissance Dominions that our people are born out of bloodshed and that it is only through hard work and devotion to St. Damian have we gained our place under the sun. We have full condolences for the people of Lanaudière and we are under no illusions that our godly country is invulnerable to the horrors of this world. But we reject the idea that to direct all our hatred towards the elven peoples would solve this quarrel between races. Men started this conflict with the elves, not the other way around. And so men should seek to end it through diplomacy; not perpetuate it through violence. It will be these very same nations who expressed their disgust toward the elven peoples, these nations that apparently have no interest in peaceful negotiations, that will mourn in the near future when they turn into subsequent victims of Sy'Dora's wrath.

Lastly, Chigrom does not need to remind the Renaissance Dominions, who are a wise and educated people, that we are not an autocratic tyrant of a nation that restricts the freedom of our media. Our people and our culture had been needlessly insulted by the Lanaudière press, and the Chigrom Post reacted in earnest. While we will never actively support the publication of insulting pictures and articles, all our newspapers are private enterprises not funded, nor subject to regulation, by the government. Whether or not a free press exists in the Renaissance Dominions is not our concern; we simply ask that our counterparts in the Renaissance respect our people's wish to defend their culture and their dignity.

The accusatory nature of Costara's previous statements are ill-becoming of such a civilized and well-developed nation. To imply that the governments of Lumecia have no right to act in defense of their peoples after civilians were summarily attacked, and massacred, is a ludicrous injustice. Further labeling them with the title of racists when many have referred specifically to the harbringer's of this destruction, the Sy'dora, rather than the greater supposed elven people is but a crude insult done to our peoples.

We also simply ask that our counterparts in the Costaran nation respect our people's wish to defend their allies, culture and their dignity. Also, we would ask that they be free to do so without threat of unjust injury or insult from nations all about the globe.

Twelve thousand men, women, and children are dead. Twelve thousand human beings that lived and breathed just a day before, that knew joy and happiness. Twelve thousand innocents that had never done harm to, or intended to do harm to, the elven people. How is this not a crime, no matter the action's goal?

We reiterate our earlier stance. Sy'dora will not be pursued nor hunted, only banished from Federal airspace until such time as we decide otherwise.

The following message was delivered to a contact in Costara who has relayed the message from Sylthran Udolwe, the Shipwright.

"The destruction of your city brought us no pride, but instead has given us only anguish. To cause so much pain and death was not a decision we undertook without exhausting all our resources. We cannot apologize for our actions, they were deliberate and calculated but we assure you that our actions have saved you from a much graver future."
