Ninja, Shinobi, specialized warriors who utilized and train under the power arts of Ninjutsu, Taijutsu and Genjutsu to attain perfection in the Science and Art of Killing. These mercenaries of boundless potential were employed as the killing machines of countless wars between the several Countries our land is divided into. Hi No Kuni (Fire Country), Kaze no Kuni (Wind Country), Mizu No Kuni (Water Country), Ta No Kuni (Rice Fields Country), Ame no Kuni (Rain Country) raged in constant conflict in which the Ninja were used as tools of merciless killing. Decades of war and blood shed tainted the concept of the Ninja in the eyes of almost everyone and their existence was one of fear and without honour. However, there was a call for the all out battle to cease. A demand that arms be laid down and soon peace was promising to rush in like the floods promised to the earth after the long dry months. The great Ninja that had emerged from the times of battle began to establish the Secret villages to pass on what knowledge they had to the new generations, hoping to support their Countries if any times of trouble should arise again and the need for the flawless killing techniques return. Each Country has since established their own Secret Ninja Villages; each famous (or infamous as the case may be) for producing ninja of a certain quality and training. The time of all out warfare was over. However it was not necessarily the end of blood shed. Raising to the fore; several villages vie for political and economical power. Still old hatreds live on in old and are taught to the young. Bitterness is fresh on the lips of many as are the deeds of a war only recently ended. In particular the Amegakure no Sato (Village Hidden in Rain) and Kusagakure no Sato (Village Hidden in Grass) are surrounded in rumors, though nothing is substantiated as of yet. The Secret Shinobi villages are beginning to flourish as their pangs of war grow cold. No longer are the battle fields bathed in blood and bodies; now a far more interesting fight was too be had. As all out and total war fair was relatively low, economy took on a greater role of importance. Ninja are still mercenary and each Hidden Village will need to be best at what it does to receive mission offers from their Country and it's people. Currently, one generation has passed since the creation of the Hidden Villages. They are still young and pine with future potential and already there are long shadows over their horizons waiting to consume them. Edited by The Crimson Raven, Aug 10 2008, 03:59 PM.
