________________

A pretty big deal ... Gardner-Webb left tackle Demario Deese is probably the top lineman to have ever suited up for the team. Deese is going for his fourth straight all-conference selection. The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is viewed as an NFL prospect, where he projects to move inside to guard. He squats 635 pounds and has a 26-inch vertical jump. Deese played at Independence High in Charlotte, where he was a part of the school's 77-game winning streak.

"Blocking is also the basis for Henderson State’s success. 6-8 senior Louis West anchors a big offensive line and is another NFL prospect. That line buys time for junior Roch Charpentier to operate Maxfield’s hyperactive one-back passing scheme, one that features the Gulf South Conference’s leading receiver in senior Garrett Manning."

"Can Eastern see around Tennessee State's O-line
Journal Gazette and Times-Courier, IL - Nov 5, 2008
The Tigers have two Florida State transfers for tackles – 6-foot-5, 332-pound NFL prospect Cornelius Lewis and 6-4, 302-pound Dumaka Atkins. ..."

"Robert St. Clair was as surprised as the coaches and scouts when he saw his time during last spring's Junior Pro Day at Florida Atlantic.

He had run the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds. Not an eye-popping time for a running back or wide receiver, but for a 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive end it was lightning fast."

"Don Carey, who picked off a pair of passes in front of a handful of NFL scouts in town to watch him, said the NSU defense got ticked off early and remained angry in holding the Bears to their fewest points this fall in a I-AA game."
