Shrine - EAST DEFENSE

4 CJ Spillman - Came up and made a good tackle of TE after short catch. Showed good speed in flying up to make the hit. Looked weird on seam route to Pascoe. Came over to get in on the play. Didn't aggressively go for the ball. Didn't hit anyone. Just sort of got in the area. Weird. Showed some range to get over and help on a downfield throw to MJ. Took an okay angle to the ball, but could have been better. The throw was off target and INCL. Sloppy tackle of GJ on run up the middle. Got him down, but not cleanly. Terrible tackle attempt on Thomas TD catch. Basically whiffed.

6 Curtis Taylor - Got caught out of position on Johnson's long run. Got too close to LOS and lost the angle on him. Hustled upfield vs run. Dove to try and get a shot on RB. Got a shot on Thomas after catch over middle late in the half. Played some S.

8 Brandon Underwood - Quick feet. Has the athletic ability to play CB. Looks fairly smooth on drop back and while moving around in coverage. Came up and hit WR in the back as the ball went over his head. Needs to break quicker to the ball. Got beaten deep by MJ in the 3rd. Bit on an inside fake and stumbled as he turned to run. A little bit upright in his backpedal, but not bad. Smooth. Fluid hips. Slow to plant and drive on the ball.

12 Lawrence Sidbury - Played mostly LDE. Struggled vs Vollmer. Had dumb penalty that extended drive. Chased down QB from behind on QB draw. Looked fluid in moving and turning. Made good tackle of QB out in space after he scrambled. Changes direction and moves around very fluidly. Beat Vollmer with a good outside rush late in the half. Had success as a pass rusher vs Ben Gay. Pressured the QB into bad throw on 4th/12, but the RT was late off the ball for some odd reason.

21 Keith Fitzhugh - Thick build. Aggressive vs run. Came up quickly in run support to force Ian J. out of bounds on 1st/GL run. Went low and made a good tackle of Lane on a GL run. Helped MLB with physical tackle of WR on crossing route. Had an excellent tackle near the GL on a run. Read the play, saw a gap, and fired into the backfield to tackle the runner. Stopped GJ for no gain on the play. Good tackle of Lane after short pass. Held him to no gain or a short loss. Wrapped up and put him on the ground. Made a solid tackle of TE after a short pass. Batted down a pass late in the game. The ball was underthrown and easy to play. Jumped up and knocked it away. Probably could have had an INT if he tried with both hands.

23 Morgan Trent - Picked off a pass. Read the play and got a good break on the ball. Returned it 26 yards to set up the offense in the RZ. Tough catch. Not a gimme. Gave up a completion while playing off. Was slow to change directions and break on the ball. Got beaten for a TD while playing off coverage. Slow to break on the ball. Got beaten deep by Dillard for a TD.

27 Don Carey - Had good downfield coverage of Mitchell on deep throw. The ball was off target and Carey pulled up lame with a hammie. Made an excellent coverage play near the GL. Pressed the WR and really mirrored him. Never looked back for the ball, but put his arm up to deflect the pass as the WR extended his hands to make the catch. Showed good quickness, agility on the play. Strange play on 4th/GL. Covered the WR tightly and stayed with him the whole time. The ball was lobbed way up. Carey had perfect position. The ball was poorly thrown, but Carey never jumped for it. The WR did jump, but wasn't able to make the grab. I don't know why he didn't go for the ball.

29 Bradley Fletcher - Showed good hustle in chasing down Johnson on his long run and making a solid tackle. Made tackle along sideline after WR caught medium pass. Made solid tackle in run support when RB got out wide to his side. Had man coverage on Dillard on fade in endzone, but the ball was overthrown. Never saw the ball. Very sloppy tackle attempt on quick hitch pass to WR. Didn't break down well. Missed a tackle of Brown along the sideline. Called for PI late in the game when Dillard got behind him. Just put his arms on Dillard so he couldn't cleanly play the ball. Broke up a pass to Dillard in the endzone.

33 Dannell Ellerbe - Looks quick, fast. Moves well. Had a TFL when 92 blew up a run and the guy spun outside. Didn't make a clean tackle, but held the guy up. Got beaten for nice gain by RB on pass play late in the half. Good hustle to chase down WR on quick hitch and limit him to a short gain. Got TFL late when he ran around the FB and hit the RB.

34 Michael Tauiliili - MLB. Got in on early tackle on inside run. Slid around block of OL and made physical tackle of RB on inside run. Stopped him cold for a yard and pushed him back. Hit TE as he released into his route. Got into the backfield on an outside run. Didn't have the speed to get to the runner. Powerful guy. Doesn't get moved back by blocks. Does struggle to shed OL at times. Made the initial contact on Lane's 4th/GL run where he was stopped. Got caught on a block while trying to chase a run outside. Made a good tackle of WR after short catch on crossing route. Guesses a lot. Instincts? Made a strong, physical tackle of GJ on run to the right side. Got some help from the DE. Missed a tackle of a WR out in space. Made a good tackle of Lane after a short pass over the middle. Got him down at the spot of the catch. Loves to attack targets. Aaron Brown got by him on a play in the middle of the field, but it was a really good move. Credit goes to Brown.

35 Robert Francois - Showed good power when he blew up the FB on a lead run. Got a TFL on a run that came to his side. Saw an opening, shot upfield and got the RB. Has good strength, power. Has pretty good feet for a big guy. Shed block of OL and tackled RB for a short gain.

36 Courtney Greene - Slow to read a bootleg, then recover and chase. Good hit in run support. Solid hit on RB got him down as others held him up. Made a good tackle out in space in punt coverage. Good tackle of RB on short run. Had tight coverage of Pascoe on a seam route, but didn't play the ball well.

38 Stryker Sulak - Showed good hustle in chasing after RB when he left the pocket and went wide to Sulak's side. Had a TFL on run play. Batted down a pass when he was unblocked off the edge. Showed good burst off the ball as he got by the LT and hit the QB. Used his hands well to fight off the block of the LT and get by him. Got too deep, though. Got into the backfield and grabbed Ian Johnson from behind. Stopped him for no gain.

44 Mortty Ivy - Poor tackle attempt on KO coverage. Broke up a pass late in the half. QB threw the ball right to him, actually. Couldn't make the pick. Tackled RB on cutback run that came right back to him.

51 Johnny Williams - OLB. Dove for runner on early play, but couldn't make tackle. Got blocked by TE on run that came his way. Failed to get outside leverage. Showed some athletic ability while chasing plays or dropping in coverage. Awkward in space, though. Not relaxed.

52 Jasper Brinkley - Bit on PA pass, then had to bail back into coverage.

53 Clinton McDonald - Didn't look all that quick off the ball. Had limited success with a rip move.

66 E. Legaire - Played RDE. Lacks burst.

67 Terrance Taylor - Got push on early run, but has to be stout or disengage block. Got regular push on pass and run plays, but wasn't under control. Also struggled to shed blocks. Got into the backfield, but couldn't get GJ down for a TFL. Held him to no gain. Looked quick off the ball on pass play. Drove the C back on a run inside the 5 and that blew up the play.

90 Orion Martin - Showed some burst when going after QB on bootleg play. Used a good inside move to get pressure on the QB.

91 Sammie Lee Hill -

92 Matt Shaugnessy - Worked his way down the LOS to make a tackle on early run. Got some push on LT on early pass play. Used good bull rush on LT on another pass play. Good motor. Batted down a pass that QB tried to throw by him. Showed excellent discipline in playing a bootleg well and forcing the QB to scramble. Didn't look all that athletic in pursuing him. Took inside slant to get inside of TE's block and disrupt running play, create TFL. Wasn't all that quick on the play. Got some movement with a bull rush, then batted down a pass. Used an inside move to get pressure on a 3rd Qtr pass.

95 Darryl Richard - Got by his blocker on run up middle, but wasn't able to make a tackle on Lane. Made a good play on 3rd/GL run up middle. Was quick off the ball on 4th/1 QB sneak. Faced double teams quite a bit. Needs to push the pocket more. Too passive. Got washed off the ball by a double team on a run to his side. Needs to be more stout.

98 Myron Pryor - Made the tackle on Lane's 4th/GL run. The MLB slowed him down and Pryor got over and wrapped up on Lane just before other defenders arrived. Beat the RG with a 2nd move to get by him and hit the QB. Had a sack, but it was hardly impressive. Was getting off the ground when the QB ran to him. Used a rip move to get some penetration on a pass play. Will use his hands to try and shed blocks/make moves.

Shrine - EAST OFFENSE

1 Darrius Passmore -

2 Greg Orton - Caught a pass on the right sideline.

3 Deon Butler - Drew PI call on first pass play of the game. The flag was picked up, though. Ran a slant, but was way too casual about it. Didn't plant and cut. Got open on comeback route, but the ball was too low. Had a gain of 28 on a bootleg pass he caught on the right side. Used his instincts to get open on the play. Had an effective stalk block on Williams TD run. Made an excellent adjustment on a pass from Hoyer. Was running a corner route downfield and saw the ball was back to his inside. Did a great job of locating the ball and then adjusting his body so he could make the catch.

7 Brian Hoyer - Completed a pass on bootleg play. Eluded a DE in space, then got wide and hit Butler for a good gain. Had a nice scramble in the late 3rd. Threw a good looking pass to Kelly on a dig route. Hit Butler on a PA pass for a gain of 21 to the left side. The throw was off target, but not so much that is was uncatchable. Arm looked pretty good on a PA pass to the right side. The play gained 12 yds, but the ball had good zip on it. Had a 3rd down pass deflected by DT.

10 Chase Daniel - Made a good throw on early 3rd down. Put a slant right on the money, but a DB hit the WR and kept the pass from being completed. Bounced a pass to Butler on the next play. Really bounced on his plant step. Got upright off that, but didn't use his legs to throw. He doesn't have the arm to do that. Must use his lower body. Threw an errant pass to Butler on the left side. Ball was high. I'm not sure if that was intentional or an accident. The CB was jumping the route and Chase may have read that. Completed a short pass to TE Walker on bootleg. Completed a screen pass, but the play lost yds. Threw downfield for Kelly, but he tripped and wasn't able to make a play on the ball. Tried to throw a pass over the middle, but put the ball behind the WR. Chase was drifting right and throwing left. Could have been a nice gainer.

14 Hunter Cantwell - Hit Butler for a gain of 21 on the left side on his first pass of the game. Gunned a slant pass to Kelly, but the DB broke it up.

19 Tyrell Sutton - Got an early handoff and showed some quickness, burst. Had to avoid a defender in the backfield and then got out from the endzone to the 9-yd line. No hesitation. Ran hard. Got 8 yds on a draw play. Showed vision and patience as he let the play develop and moved through his blocks. Okay burst and ran hard. Got pictch on Flip 90 and was tackled for a loss. Didn't have good blocking, but also looked slow. Had a cutback run up the middle for 10 yds. With any kind of speed he might have broken off a long gainer. Had a 2-yd TD run up the middle. Ran through a LB's tackle attempt and just got behind his OL and pushed his way in for the score.

Had a good KOR. Went for about 30.

20 Marlon Lucky - Had a 7-yd TD run to the left side. Showed some burst on the play. Ran through one tackle attempt and took one tackler into the endzone. Had a beautiful run in the 2nd Qtr. Started to the left, then cut it up inside. Had a good opening. Got upfield a couple of yards and then saw wide open field to his right. Put a move on a defender to get right and then just took off. Good speed, burst. The run started at midfield and went to the 3. Had a 12-yd run up the middle. There was a good hole. He didn't hesitate and fired right up the field. Good effort to go after DE on PA pass play to make sure the QB could get the throw off.

28 Javarris Williams - Gained 12 on his first carry. Had a big hole. Hit it up the middle, then bounced the play out to the right. Has some quickness. Feet look okay. Showed strength and some elusiveness to gain 4 yds on a draw play that started off like a loss. Had a 3-yd TD run. Started up the middle, then broke hard to the left. Had to get by one guy and then jogged into the endzone. Had a good cut block of DE on pass play. Caught a screen pass behind the line and had defenders all over him. Tried his best to create something, but still lost yds. Ran a counter play to the left side for 8 yds. Ran to the right side for 4. Had a nice hole initially. Got through one tackle, but not the second.

30 Colin Mooney - FB -

56 Ausgustus Parrish - Played LT. Got pulled to the ground by DE on first play. Occupied the DE on Lucky's TD run to his side. Might have gotten away with some holding, but had good position on the play. Kept his body in front of the DE. Had an effective seal block on a LB on a run play. I wish he'd pounded on the guy more than he did. Got DE off balance in pass pro and pushed him to the ground. Got beaten by a spin move to the inside. QB got the ball away so it wasn't a sack.

63 Edwin Williams -

64 Cecil Newton - Played C. Had a good block on MLB on run up the middle. Good block of DT in pass pro. Used his hands to get a shot on the guy. Moved his feet laterally and got another shot. Had a good block on MLB on a run up the middle. Used his hands well. Tried to pull on a running play, but had to wall off a DT. Good awareness, positioning. Had a good block on MLB on a run up the middle.

70 Ryan Durand -

71 Seth Olsen - Failed to get push on drive blocks. Blocked a DT on a run to his side, but the DT positioned himself where it was easy for Seth to seal him. Just looks like he lacks power, lower body strength.

72 Alex Boone - Looked terrible early on. Hands were low. Was just reaching for guys. Almost whiffed on DE on first pass play. Guy took an inside move and almost beat Alex cleanly. Tried to play patty-cake with the DE on the first pass of the next series and the guy ran by him. Got beaten on pass play at 5:24 mark of the 1st Qtr. I quit watching him. He gave up...so did I.

75 Matt Slauson - Gets off the ball quickly. Way too low with his hands. Needs to get them up and get them on the defender.

76 Jamie Thomas - Sealed a DT on Lucky's long run up the middle. Fell to the ground on a trap play when he pulled and tried to block his defender. Poor balance.

77 Jamon Meredith - Played RT. Got physical with his DE on first run play. Got a big shot on the guy, but didn't sustain the block and allowed the guy to pursue. Had a good cut block on DE on run play that went to the other side. Looked okay in pass pro. Moved his feet. Needed to do a better job of extending his arms and trying to control the defender. Got knocked back in pass pro by DE. Stayed with the block and kept control, but needs to get his arms extended quicker to keep guys from getting into him.

78 Ramon Foster - Started at RT. Got enough of a LB on a run to let Sutton get free up the middle. Got called for holding on pass play before the half. He didn't know Daniel was scrambling out wide and changing the rush angle. All of a sudden his handful of jersey became a problem. Blocked well on Sutton's short TD run. Got some movement on his DL and the ball went right behind him.

80 Aaron Kelly - Had a slant come his way near the GL. The CB ran through him and broke up the play. I didn't think Kelly looked very strong on the play. There wasn't a lot he could do, but I hated seeing the CB knock him down so easily. Got his feet tangled up with the CB on a downfield pass on the right sideline. Had a chance for the ball, but ended up on the ground.

81 Taurus Johnon - Daniel threw a pass his way on a crossing route, but the ball was behind him and TJ couldn't get it. He whirled around and got his hands up, but wasn't able to get to the ball.

85 David Johnson - Good block on run play in early 2nd Qtr. Locked onto LB and stuck with the block. Got away with holding on Williams TD run. Had a good block initially, but the LB tried to move wide. Johnson took him down as he tried to sustain "the block". Ball ran right to that spot for an easy TD. Had a very good block on Sutton's TD run. Down blocked on a LB and moved him. Got the guy going back and sideways. RB went into that area for the score.

88 Nick Walker - Blocked okay early on. Good effort. Must lock on to defenders better. Caught a short pass from Daniel. Looked good in getting open. Really popped the LB so he could get a step on him. Minimal gain, though. Had an effective kick-out block when he pulled on a running play.

89 Brian Mandeville - Okay block on draw play. Didn't move his guy, but stayed between him and the ball. Has some athletic ability. Feet look okay. Got manhandled while trying to block a LB on a run to his side.

Shrine - WEST DEFENSE

2 Ryan Palmer - Broke up a pass with a quick break on the ball. Hit the WR early and drew a flag, but the officials picked up the flag. Broke up a pass to Kelly. Made a good break on the ball. Made a good tackle of WR after catch.

3 Darcel McBath -

6 Jason Williams - Blew up a running play by driving the TE backward into the RB. Play resulted in a TFL.

9 Anthony Felder -

20 Al Afalava -

21 Ryan Mouton - Broke up a pass near the GL when he broke quickly on the ball and ran through WR Kelly. Had tight downfield coverage on deep ball. WR fell and pass was INCL. Ryan did his best to pick it off.

22 Lendy Holmes - Showed good recovery speed when he chased down Lucky from behind. Didn't make the best initial tackle attempt.

24 Glover Quin - Played some FS. Made a solid tackle of Lucky on run up the middle.

25 Cary Harris -

36 Brandon Hughes - Gave up a couple of completions to Butler. Both gained good yardage.

39 Jason Phillips - Played OLB and ILB. Shed an OL and tackled runner on play up the middle. Looked awkward at OLB. I think he's used to being off the ball and able to read plays. Got burned on a cutback run where he got out of position. Made a good tackle on a run to the left side. DE got some penetration to affect the play and Phillips got over from MLB to make the TFL.

41 Kaluka Maiava - Blew up a Flip 90 play by getting out wide and forcing the RB back toward the middle. Blew up a screen pass by shadowing the RB.

45 De'Von Hall - Couldn't stop Lucky from getting into the endzone. Made a good tackle of TE after short catch across the middle. Made a tackle on run play near GL. Failed to tackle RB on next GL run. Got to him, but couldn't keep him out of the endzone.

49 Nick Reed - Used a spin move to get inside the LT and pressure the QB. Hustled to tackle RB from behind on run play. Got into the backfield several times, but lacked the burst to get to the QB. Used a spin move to get pressure.

51 Victor Butler -

53 Philip Hunt - Chased down a RB from behind and stopped Lucky for a short loss. Got a TFL when he hustled out wide and got the RB on a busted Flip 90 play.

55 Worrell Williams - MLB. Got stuck on a block and couldn't get RB as he went by him. Too busy at times. Moves back and forth instead of just reading the play and going to the ball. Got blocked on a run play up the middle and Lucky had a good gain.

90 Jarron Gilbert - Played DT.

91 Pannel Egboh - Played LDE. Got held on a pass play where he got upfield and had a chance to get the QB. Made tackle on a run to his side.

92 Michael Bennett - Almost got Hoyer for a sack on a bootleg play, but couldn't make the tackle. Showed some athletic ability on the play. Handled run plays that came his way. Got into the OT and pushed them back. Was then able to shed the blocker and play the runner. Shot a gap on a run play. Slowed up the RB and created a TFL.

95 Ra'Shon Harris - Plays too high which negates his size and power. Tipped a 4th Qtr pass.

98 Roy Miller - 1-gap DT. Got penetration on run play, then chased RB and tackled him after short gain. Hustles after the ball. Got a TFL on a screen pass when he chased the ball all over the field and ended up in the right place at the right time. Made several pursuit tackles. Struggled to get off blocks at times.

99 John Faletoese - Showed some quickness off the ball. Used a spin move to get in on tackle of RB. Got sealed on a run play up the middle. Needs to play stronger.

Shrine - WEST OFFENSE

1 Manuel Johnson - Rounded off a dig route. Pass was up high. He went up for the ball, but strangely only extended one arm. Used a double move to get open deep, but the ball was off target.

5 Gartrell Johnson - First play of the game was a run up the middle for 4 yards. Took a toss play to the right side and cut back up the middle for 3 yds. Had a 39-yd run on the opening series. Started up the middle, then broke outside to the right. Had a very good hole to work with, but did a good job of reading his blocks. Had an effective block on LB on QB draw. Tried to get out of a TFL with a spin move. Got away from the first guy, but then got swarmed. Tackled CB after an INT. Had a 9-yd run up the middle. Read his blocks and made one quick cut.

7 Tom Brandstater - Hit Mike Thomas on 3rd/4 with a slant pass. That turned into a 15-yd gain. Got the ball out quickly and put it right where it needed to be. I'm actually not sure how he got it by a LB, but he did. Wisely overthrew Thomas on a play where he was double-covered downfield. Moved left out of the pocket and found Thomas along the left sideline for a 1st down. Didn't really need to run, but kept his eyes downfield and stayed under control. Looked good on a bootleg pass to Bronson. Moved fluidly and threw a quick, but accurate and catchable short pass. Threw low to Dillard on a simple out. Threw a strike over the middle to Thomas on final drive of the half. Hit Ian Johnson on a downfield pass on final drive of half. The play got them inside the 5. Would have been a TD if the throw was better. Johnson had to wait on the ball. Tried to throw a slant near the GL. LB broke it up and probably should have picked it off. Was too casual on a pass attempt and had the ball blocked. Threw a seam pass to Pascoe in the 3rd Qtr. Bear was tightly covered and in the middle of several defenders. Tom put the ball out front and up high. That gave the big TE a chance to use his size. That's about the best throw you'd want under circumstances like that. Missed MJ on a downfield route. Should have stepped into the throw. Hit Mike Thomas for a 22-yd TD. Put the ball between the CB and S.

His passes all seem to die at the end.

10 Mike Thomas - Caught a slant pass on early 3rd down and got 15 yds on the play. Caught a 12-yd pass along the left sideline. Had to go up for the ball. Went up and snared it with his hands, then got both feet in before he was shoved out. Caught a pass across the middle on 3rd/6 that set up 4th/short. Caught a 20-yd pass over the middle on final drive of half. The ball was sorta low and he went down for it with no problem. Caught a pass at the 2-yd line and fought through a couple of defenders to get in the endzone. 22-yd TD catch.

11 Jovorskie Lane - Had an effective lead bloc on GJ's long run up the middle. Ran upfield to block his target. Didn't hit with the kind of power you like, but got the guy blocked. Needed to get lower to really have a good block. Had a carry up the middle for 5 yds. Just a FB dive play. Ran up the middle from the Ace set for about 4 yds. Poor runner. No vision, speed, or quickness. Had a poor lead block on a run that was stuffed. Went slow to the LOS and didn't read the play well. Caught a dump off pass and bowled over a LB to get the 1st down.

12 Stephen McGee - Completed passes over the middle on a couple of plays. Sneaked for a 1st down on 4th/short. Hit Pascoe over the middle for 8. Overthrew Mitchell by a yard or so on a deep ball. The pass would have been a 40-yd completion without any RAC yds. Threw a quick out to Dillard. Got the ball out in a hurry and put it out front. Missed IJ over the middle when he tried to dump the ball to him on 3rd down. Threw a pass to Stroughter on a bootleg way too softly. A quicker pass would have allowed for more RAC yds. Hit Dillard for a 35-yd TD pass. Wasn't able to step into the throw, but still got the ball out front and Dillard made the catch in the endzone.

13 Mike Reilly - Was forced to scramble on a bootleg play and got 8 yds. Had a pass picked off by Morgan Trent. The ball was a bit off target, but the CB just made a good play to jump the route. Threw a pass to MJ on a dig route, but the ball was high. Pass did have good zip on it. Panicked on a pass play and scrambled around in the pocket. Had an underneath guy up to dump the ball to. Focused on the rush instead. In his running around, he ran right into a sack. Threw several passes over the middle as checkdowns. Showed some speed on those plays where he did scramble. Seemed hesitant to throw downfield or to his WRs. Threw a pass to Mitchell on a post and put the ball low and behind him. Underthrew Dillard downfield and the bad throw helped to draw a flag.

19 Sammie Stroughter - Caught an 12-yd pass on the left side. Went up and snagged the ball. Drove the CB off the ball and got open with his route. Caught a short pass on a bootleg. Quickly turned upfield and got 10 RAC yds.

23 Aaron Brown - Slasher. Gets the ball and takes off. Makes good moves. Fast and quick. Goes down too easily. Showed what a weapon he can be on a 4th Qtr pass play. Caught a pass 5 yds upfield in the middle of the field. Made a LB miss immediately. Took the play outside, then turned upfield. Got 21 RAC yds on the play. Looked fast and elusive. Read his blocks well. Dangerous player in space. Had a cutback run for 12 yds. Used speed and quick cuts to just run by several defenders. He is fast.

41 Ian Johnson - Had a spring in his step. Lacked power. Ran a toss play to the right side. Only got a couple of yards. Lacked the speed to get wide in a hurry. Had a downfield catch before the half. Gained 30 yds on the play. Most of the yds came through the air. Made a good adjustment on the ball. The pass was late, but he waited for it and still made the grab. Caught a pass over the middle on 3rd/10 and was able to move the chains.

50 Jon Cooper - Missed block on MLB on play where he stuffed run. Got on a LB on a run to the left and rode the guy downfield. Had a good block on a run up the middle. Got into the DT initially then came off and got on the MLB. That created a big running lane.

57 Fenuki Tupou - Got walked back too easily on an early pass play. Missed a block on DE on 3rd down. Hands were too low. Got pushed back in pass pro on another play where his hands were by his side. Can be effective in pass pro when he quickly moves his feet and extends his arms. Poor drive block killed a run to his side. Couldn't move the guy or sustain the block.

58 Juan Garcia - Played C and RG. Lost control of Pryor and let him pressure the QB. Had some good moments, but looked rusty.

65 Simeon Gartier -

66 Louis Vasquez - Got driven backward in pass pro on early play. Uses his hands well. Good effort. Works to sustain blocks. Had a good combo block on a run to his side. Sealed the DT and let the C take control, then peeled off and got a LB. Will really battle on every snap. Had a good block near the GL. Got into the DT and slowed him up. Passed the DT off to the LT so he could get to the 2nd level and block a LB. Had a solid block on a LB on a run to his side. Gets moved back more than I like, but does re-set well. Doubled with Cooper on a DT and they drove him off the ball. Impressive block.

71 Dan Gay - Only so-so in pass pro. Had a good down block on a DT on a run play to his side. Got beaten by Sidbury a few times.

73 Cedric Dockery -

74 Travis Bright - RG. Tried to cut a LB. Dove, but the guy stepped back and then went by Travis. Got driven back in pass pro by DT. Didn't move his feet very well.

76 Ray Feinga -

79 Sebastian Vollmer - Drove the DE out wide on a run to his side. Really sustained the block. Did an excellent job of extending his arms in pass pro. Frustrated Sidbury with that. Aggressive blocker. Got off balance while trying to block a DE on a run play. Got his feet back under him and got another shot on the DE. Does a good job of mirroring the DE in pass pro. Uses his hands well. Got too upright on a toss play and the DE was able to move him backward. Was able to consistently ride his DE wide and wall him off on run plays. Had a good down block on a bootleg pass play. Plays with a wide base. Anchors well. Keeps his feet active. Got beaten off the ball in pass pro before the half. Grabbed Sidbury and held him, but didn't get called for it. I'm impressed by his recovery ability. Doesn't panic when he's beaten. Re-sets and stays focused on the DE. Had a good block of Sidbury on a draw. Rode him downfield a couple of yards. One thing that makes him effective in pass pro is that he can lock on with his hands and still move his feet. Some OL freeze their feet when using their arms. Got a shot on Martin in pass pro, but then lost control of him and got beaten inside.

Feet? Slow or under control?

81 Jarrett Dillard - Made a catch of a low pass from McGee. Ran a good route to get open, then went down for the ball. Caught a quick out. Made the CB miss and got 8 yds on the play. Caught a 35-yd TD. Got behind the CB. McGee put the ball out front and Dillard made an over the shoulder grab for the score.

82 Marko Mitchell - Got overthrown on a deep route. Dropped a pass from McGee that was an easy catch. Went up for a fade in the endzone, but wasn't able to get his hands on the ball.

84 Jared Bronson - Had a good catch and run on a bootleg pass. Sloppy block of backside DE led to TFL. Fell down while trying to make a catch on 3rd/short and dropped the ball.

85 Bear Pascoe - Had a good block on LB on toss play to his side. Caught an 8-yd pass over the middle. Made a tremendous catch on a seam route in the 3rd Qtr. He was in the middle of 4 defenders. The throw got to him almost 25 yds downfield. The ball was high. Bear went up for it over a DB. He was able to pluck it, bring the ball back to his body, and hold on as he hit the ground. Gained 30 yds. Had a good block on Brown's catch and run.

87 Mark Hafner - Played FB in some sets. Helped block DE on toss play to the right side. Caught a pass over the middle and then got good RAC yds. Struggled as a lead blocker. Caught a pass over the middle and got 10 RAC yds.

Senior Bowl --- Day 1

I never make too much of what I see on the first day of practice. Some of these guys haven't faced real competition in quite a while. Over the years we've seen plenty of guys who looked great or awful on Monday only to look the opposite in a day or two. Keep that in mind.

THOUGHTS

OL

* William Beatty --- He's off to a bad start. Measured in at 6'6, 291. Not good for someone who is a run blocker. Beatty then struggled in pass protection in drills. Needs to bend his knees more. Also reached and lunged too much. At 315 or so that wouldn't have been a big deal. Slide him out to RT and let him be a run blocker. 291 is light for an OT. 6'6 is tall for a OG. Awkward.

* Max Unger --- He struggled in drills. BJ Raji got the best of him. Ron Brace got the best of him.

* Alex Mack --- Looked very good at C. Showed good feet, balance, and strength. Got driven back initially a couple of times, but then re-set and stood firm.

* Kraig Urbik --- Good showing. Used his hands well. Moved his feet. Got beaten by Hood with a quick outside move, but didn't give up on the play. Really battles on every snap. Hood beat him with a spin move, but Urbik recovered and rode him wide of the QB.

* Andy Levitre --- Struggled at OT. Lacks the athletic ability to handle top edge rushers. He'll need to play G in the NFL. Helped drive DT to the ground when doubling with the C on a pass play in team drill. Used his hands very well in taking on Jamison and King.

* Xavier Fulton --- Played both sides. Had a good block of Will Davis in team drill. Had a good block of Cody Brown at LT. Struggled in the 1-on-1 drills.

* Phil Loadholt --- Played both sides. Was badly beaten at LT by Cody Brown in team session. Had a couple of good blocks of Brown in the 1-on-1 drill. Very effective when he locks on to defenders with his hands. Had good initial block of Davis in drill, but then Will used a spin move to get by him. Phil took him to the ground.

* Trevor Canfield --- Solid. Didn't shut guys down, but battled each snap. Hood beat him with a spin move.

WR/TE

* Brooks Foster --- I was surprised to see him on the roster. Brooks was the #3 WR for UNC most of the year. He always impressed me, though. Clutch player. Looked very good on Monday. Caught the ball with his hands. Ran good routes. Adjusted to the ball when needed.

* Derrick Williams --- Impressed me. Showed suddenness and good quickness. Maybe I've been underrating him. I still want to see his speed. Did beat Butler on a downfield route. Adjusted well to the ball and made a tough grab.

* Juaquin Iglesias ---

* Brian Robiskie --- Caught the ball well. Looked polished.

* Brandon Gibson --- Didn't look smooth to me. Caught the ball well. Beat Mickens for a deep ball.

* Ramses Barden --- Caught the ball well. Looked fast and ran well.

* Brandon Pettigrew --- Had a nice catch in 1-on-1drill.

* Connor Barwin --- Looked pretty good in his move back to TE.

RB

* Cedric Peerman --- Had a very good cutback run during team drill. Started left, planted his foot, and then headed upfield off the right side. Good burst. Good vision. Impressive run.

* Korey Sheets --- Looked fast, quick, and athletic. Caught a short dump pass and flew up the sideline.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

DL

General note. The 1-on-1 drill really favors the DL over the OL. Quick DL especially have an advantage. They look great in this drill. That doesn't always translate over to the game.

* Will Davis --- Looked pretty good. Showed quickness off the edge. Also had a good rip move.

* Ziggy Hood --- Looked great in the drills. Used a wicked spin move to beat several guys. Perfect for this drill, but the move doesn't always work in games. Was quick and explosive.

* Mitch King --- Off to a great start. Was quick off the ball. Beat guys to the inside and outside.

* Cody Brown --- Good day. Looked quick off the ball. Beat various guys in drills. Blew up a running play in the team session.

LB

* Nic Harris --- Playing LB this week. Measured in at 6'3, 230. Read plays well and got to the football.

* Zack Follett ---

*
DB

* Darius Butler --- Looked very good. Was quick, fast, and fluid in coverage. Changed direction smoothly.

* Mike Mickens --- Gutsy for showing up to play while hurt, but struggled because of the injury. Didn't turn well at all.

* Deangelo Smith --- Feet were too fast. Got turned around while covering Foster on a deep route.

* Keenan Lewis --- Was about to get burned by Barden when he just bumped him 20 yards downfield. Struggled playing off coverage.

* David Bruton --- Looked sorta upright, stiff in man coverage.

* Macho Harris --- Patient feet. Hips looked really good.

* Louis Delmas --- Up and down in man coverage. Looked bad on first play. Made a good break on the next rep.

Senior Bowl --- NORTH - Day 2

THOUGHTS

QB

I didn't write about the QBs yesterday. All 3 are spread type guys. I wanted to give them a day to adjust to the NFL stuff before really checking them out. I can safely report all 3 suck. That's being a bit harsh, but I know Vinny Testaverde probably watched these guys and thought "I'll be getting calls this year when some starter goes down."

* Nathan Brown --- Let's see...he's short. His arm is only so-so. He throws sidearm a lot of the time. To make matters worse he was slow in getting the ball out a couple of times. Ouch. Sloppy footwork. No sense of NFL timing. Had pass broken up in team session because FS had a chance to get over and play the ball.

* Rhett Bomar --- Shows some flashes. Has an okay arm. Does run well. Just doesn't consistently make good throws. Had a ball to the right sideline really die on him. I'm not sure if that was arm or technique. The ball will fade to the right side if it rolls off your pinky the wrong way.

* Graham Harrell --- The most polished of the QBs, but he still doesn't impress me. His arm is an issue. Had an errant pass to Iglesias on the right sideline. Was off target with an early play-action throw (no defense). Completed a 13-yard combeback throw on PA pass. Threw a poor pass to a wide open Derrick Williams over the middle after play fake. The ball was off target and not caught.

OL

* William Beatty --- Much better today. Still not great in pass pro, but better. Showed better patience. Wasn't lunging and reaching. Got driven backward by teammate Cody Brown in 1-on-1 drill.

* Max Unger --- Played both G and C. Got driven back by Raji in drill. Did better when he anchored vs Brace on next play. Looked better at C than G.

* Alex Mack --- Pulled well on an outside run in the team session. Played both G and C. Got beaten by Hood's spin move.

* Kraig Urbik --- Pretty good day. Handled Hood on an outside move with no problem. Got beaten by King on a hard inside move.

* Andy Levitre --- Had good pop on a play where he took on Mitch King in the team sessions. Most effective when he moves his feet smoothly. Can look really good when he does that.

* Xavier Fulton --- Handled UI teammate Will Davis better on Tuesday, in both 1-on-1 drills and the team sessions.

* Phil Loadholt --- Solid day. Played both sides, again. Very good when he gets his hands on the defender, but will get beaten at times. Brown tried to beat him with an inside move, but Phil stuck with the block and rode him wide. Too upright. Leans on defenders too much. Has to improve his hand-work.

* Trevor Canfield --- Much better day. Struggled at times on Monday. Calmed down, focused, and played much better. Handled speed and power a lot better in the 1-on-1 drills. Looked solid in the team sessions. Moved his feet and locked onto defenders.

* Ryan Schuman --- Played C. Played better.

WR/TE

* Brooks Foster --- Beat Butler on a downfield throw. Ran by him, leaned away, and made a solid catch.

* Derrick Williams --- Had a couple of drops. Looked very good on crossing routes. Knows how to get open or at least create a bit of separation.

* Juaquin Iglesias ---

* Brian Robiskie --- Solid day. Struggled on crossing routes in drills, but caught a crossing route in the team session and got RAC yards. Showed a good feel for getting through traffic. Also had a nice burst on the play.

* Brandon Gibson --- Had a drop late in the day. Was up and down before that. Had a sorta drop early on. The ball was late and a bit outside, but Gibson got his hands on it.

* Ramses Barden --- Looked a bit upright at times, but I think part of that is me getting used to watching a 6'6 WR. Ran a deep slant route and caught the ball. Looked sloppy trying to run an out route. Stayed covered the whole time.

* Brandon Pettigrew --- Another good day. Blocked well. Caught the ball well. Brandon is living up to his reputation as the #1 TE.

* Connor Barwin --- Struggled as a blocker. Time away from TE has hurt his blocking skills.

* John Phillips --- Looked solid as a blocker. Does need to keep his feet under him. Got off balance once and ended up OTG.

RB

* Cedric Peerman --- Good effort in the blocking drill.

* Korey Sheets --- Got beaten by LB in blocking drill, but didn't give up. Fought til the whistle.

* Jeremiah Johnson --- Looked fast on a toss play to the right side. Got 20+ on the run with pure speed.

* Tony Fiammetta --- Interesting fullback prospect. Made a good block of LB in 1-on-1 drill. Put the guy on the ground. Part of it was getting him off balance, but did that and stuck with the block. Did a solid job of pass blocking on Sintim. Kept him wide of the target.

* Eric Kettani --- Good day as a pass blocker. Stepped up to his targets aggressively and locked on. Tenacious.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

DL

General note. The 1-on-1 drill really favors the DL over the OL. Quick DL especially have an advantage. They look great in this drill. That doesn't always translate over to the game.

* Will Davis --- Looked quick and athletic, but wasn't beating guys as regularly.

* Ziggy Hood --- Still loves his spin move(s). It looks great and works like a charm, but doesn't tell you much. He is very fluid and quick with the way he does it.

* Mitch King --- Fell down while doing the bag drill and immediately went back to do it over again. You could see Mitch was ticked off at himself for tripping. I like guys that are competitive like that and understand the importance of the little things. Looked pretty good in the drill. Another one of those DTs who could generate some ILB talk with 3-4 teams.

* Cody Brown --- Good day. Most impressive moment came vs Beatty when he got under his pads and drove William back to the QB. Showed good leverage and power on the play. Kept his eyes down in the bag drill, a no-no. Needs to trust his feet and watch the ball.

* Tim Jamison --- Solid, but unspectacular. Hasn't shown great burst, but plays hard and just looks like a tough DE.

* BJ Raji --- Did a good job in the bag drill that focused on lateral movement. Blew up a running play in the team session. Drove the OL back into the FB, who got pushed into the RB.

* Alex Magee --- Replacement player. Played both DE and DT. Solid start. Beat Levitre with a hard outside move. Also used his hands to keep from getting blocked. Used a spin move, but was slow and got blocked. Showed good quickness.

* Ron Brace --- Looked stiff, upright in the bag drill. You could really see the difference between him and BJ. Brace has size and power, but lacks agility.

* Larry English --- Looked very good in the bag drill. His feet were smooth and he kept his eyes up the whole time. Beat Fulton off the edge with speed.

LB

* Nic Harris --- Looked good in shedding block of Barwin.

* Zack Follett --- Ran over Sheets in blocking drill. Tossed him to the ground.

* Marcus Freeman --- Didn't stand out in the blocking drills. Got stuck on blocks. Got his hands on a pass in zone coverage, but couldn't make the pick.

* Clint Sintim --- Showed he can set the edge. Strong, physical, and technically sound.

* Tyrone McKenzie --- Broke quickly on a pass while playing off in zone coverage.

* Scott McKillop --- Slow? Has to anticipate plays in order to get to the ball. Able to do this because of his instincts, but will be slow on some plays.

DB

* Darius Butler --- Solid day. Jammed Foster at the LOS and caused him to do a 360 before releasing. Looked great on that play.

* Mike Mickens --- DNP. Shut it down after he struggled yesterday due to injury.

* Deangelo Smith --- Had good coverage on Barden on out route. Pressed initially, then jumped in where the ball should have been thrown.

* Keenan Lewis --- Big improvement from Monday. Got to play more press coverage and looked much more comfortable. Really stuck with Iglesias on a couple of routes. Juaquin tried triple moves on him twice, but Lewis stuck right with him. Really mirrored the WR.

* David Bruton --- Made a good play in zone coverage and drew the praise of Coach Mike Zimmer.

* Macho Harris --- Outstanding day. Looked fluid in coverage. Stuck with receivers. Showed a good feel for coverage and also was very competitive. It was important for him not to get beat. Shut down Robiskie on an inside route. Broke up another pass to Robiskie over the middle.

* Louis Delmas --- Gave up a completion to Barden, but came up and laid a big hit on him. Broke up a pass in the team session. The ball floated, but got over and knocked it way.

* William Moore --- Hips look stiff.

* Patrick Chung --- Showed some man coverage ability. Slipped on one rep, but still showed good instincts and the ability to stick with a WR. Stuck with Robiskie on a downfield route.

Senior Bowl --- SOUTH - Day 2

QB

* JP Wilson --- Looks good, not great. Arm is nothing special.

* Cullen Harper --- Okay. Made a solid throw to MM along the sideline in the team session. Looked fine under center.

* Pat White --- Surprisingly good. Made a couple of very nice throws vs tight coverage in the team session. One went to Nelson, the other to Cosby.

RB

* James Davis ---

* Andre Brown --- Caught a screen pass in the team session.

* Rashad Jennings --- Good block of Palmer in pass pro drill. Caught a screen pass in the team session and got a solid gain. Then Cushing put him on the ground with a hit.

* Arian Foster --- Showed vision, moves, and some burst on a draw play. Also switched the ball to the outside arm.

* Quinn Johnson --- Agressive in pass pro drill, but struggled. Had a very good block on the 2nd level on screen pass to Jennings.

WR/TE

* Kenny McKinley --- Able to run by DJ in the 1-on-1 drill. Had to slow down for the ball, though, and that threw the play off. Used good moves to get open on another rep, but the ball was off target.

* Mike Thomas --- Rounds his cuts, but does it very fluidly. Excellent agility, body control. Beat jam/press by Francies and caught slant pass. Impressive. Used a great pushoff with his inside arm to get free. Used a double move to run by DJ and get open deep.

* Quan Cosby --- Was able to get open, but had to do some creative route running. Looked good catching a quick out despite the fact the ball was low and the CB was holding him.

* Mohmaed Massaquoi --- Used a double move to beat Smith deep. Made the catch despite Smith catching up to him and getting an arm in there. Ran a dig route and plucked a ball that was a bit off target. Dropped an easy slant. Ball hit him in the stomach and bounced out.

* Mike Wallace --- Ran a good route and got open inside. Good feet. Beat press coverage with an outside release, but the CB stayed tight to him while running an out route.

* Shawn Nelson --- Had a terrific block of Mauluga in pass pro drill. Used great form and sustained the block. Eventually got Rey on the ground. Did a good job vs Matthews in pass pro drill. Completely shut down Rey on another battle. Flat out stoned him. Got into good position by moving his feet. Also used his hands well and played strong. Caught the ball smoothly and looked athletic. Had a good catch and run in the team session. Took a good hit, but didn't even flinch.

* McCall --- Got beaten by Beckwith in pass pro. I expected Travis to look better in the blocking drills. Looked slow out in space as a receiver. Dropped a seam pass while uncovered. Almost dropped another easy pass. Doesn't snatch the ball cleanly with his hands.

* Hill --- Had a couple of good blocks in pass pro drill. Knocked Fokou to the ground. Put Cushing OTG on the next rep. Really strong and physical with each guy.

OL

* Antoine Caldwell --- Really battles his guy. Looked okay at G, but struggled with the angles the DL then took. Looked better in his second series at G. Lined up at LG and handled Walker. Used his hands well and moved his feet. Good thick build.

* Tyronne Green --- Struggled with Moala. Solid against Irvin. Was able to anchor and push him away. Still did give ground.

* Michael Oher --- Started very slow. Got beaten on his first two reps, one inside and one out. Adjusted to Veikune and shut him down a couple of times. Really locked on both reps and just controlled the defender.

* Herman Johnson --- Played RT and G. Looked okay on first rep at RT. Rode the DE deep. Couldn't stay with the block the whole way, but wasn't a bad start. The next rep the end went inside and beat him. Herman didn't give up on the play, but he lacks good recovery ability.

* Anthony Parker --- Played C and G. Needs to move his feet better. Got off balance and had to hold the DL. Had a good 2nd level block on screen pass.

* Eric Wood --- Solid block of Maualuga on a draw play. Didn't move him, but kept Rey occupied.

* Jonathan Luigs --- Got the best of Walker on a rep. Got him off balance and put him OTG. No wasted motion. Efficient. Anchors okay, but could be more stout.

* Troy Kropog --- Got initially beaten by Ayers, but made contact and got him to the ground. Too light on his feet. Got bullrushed and driven back to the QB like a ragdoll. Very sloppy on a play in the team session. Ended up on the ground and Ayers was by him easily and to the QB.

* Jason Watkins --- Too passive in pass blocking drill. Let the DE come to him and hit the QB as well.

__________________________________________
__________________________________________

DL

* Corvey Irvin --- Has good power. Plays with good leverage. Tough to block. Cleanly beat Parker with a good inside move.

* Fili Moala --- Looked great in the drills. He's athletic and knows how to beat single blockers. Used speed to beat Green to the outside, then power to walk him back to the QB. Beat Wood with burst and a good rip.

* David Veikune --- Good day. Looked athletic, skilled, and smart. Used a good inside move to easily beat Oher. Beat him with a spin move after that.

* Kyle Moore --- Looked terrific. Beat HJ with speed outside, then came back and beat him inside. Beat Caldwell with a good arm-over move. Then beat Caldwell with an inside move and spin to the QB.

* Vance Walker --- Drove the C backward in 1-on-1 drill. Unimpressive, though. Didn't have success with moves. Only a power guy.

* Robert Ayers --- Very good bullrush on Kropog. Drove him backward with power and ease. Got a couple of reps at DT. Tried a move, but had better success with bullrush. Then did use a good spin move to get by Luigs.

* Lawrence Sidbury --- Stays low and plays with good leverage.

* Peria Jerry --- What we expected.

LB

* Rey Maualuga --- Badly beat FB in pass blocking drill.

* Ashlee Palmer --- Slipped when trying in inside move in pass rushing drill. Got blocked on another rep. Used a good spin move to beat blocker, then slipped as he got by him.

* Darry Beckwith --- Badly beat RB in pass rushing drill. Beat TE as well. Looked quick, athletic.

* Brian Cushing --- Got the best of FB in pass rush drill. Had a big hit on RB after catching a screen pass. Knocked Jennings to the ground.

* Moises Fokou --- Used a good inside move to get by RB in pass rush drill.

* Clay Matthews --- Played WLB. Got burned by reverse in team session. Hustled over and tackled Brown on screen pass in team session.

DB

* Alphonso Smith --- Got beaten by Massaquoi, but never gave up on the play. Almost broke up the pass. Great effort.

* Coy Francies --- Okay size. Looks sorta physical. Athletic. Not smooth. Half a step slow.

* Ellis Lankster --- Had tight coverage on Cosby, but was very physical with him. Too handsy, but did get the PBU. Undercut an out route and was in perfect position while covering Wallace.

* Derek Pegues --- Played off coverage on MM, but broke well on a dig route and almost got the ball. Nice. Didn't look comfortable in press coverage.

* Dominique Johnson --- Struggled. High in his back pedal. Didn't turn fluidly. Showed some speed, but let guys get open too often.

* Sherrod Martin --- Was up and down in the 1-on-1 drills. Looked good for a S, but not necessarily CB good.

* Zack Follett --- Nice tackle in LB tackling drill.

* Marcus Freeman --- Looked very good in tackling drill. Hits with force. Has natural power.

* Tyrone McKenzie --- Struggled somewhat in the tackling drill. Looked stiff, upright.

* Scott McKillop ---

DB

* Darius Butler --- Tight coverage on DW. Made the WR push off to get open.

NORTH DEFENSE - GAME

* Will Davis --- Good game. Mostly played LDE. Got the best of Herman Johnson. Used burst and a rip move to get by him and flush Wilson on 1st Qtr drive. Got by Watkins and pressured White on a screen pass. Pat barely got the pass off. Played DT in some nickel situations. Beat Watkins off the ball and got to White just after he released the pass. He was using burst and getting low with a shoulder dip. Made a good play vs a cutback run. Didn't tackle Davis, but slowed him up and ruined the play.

* Ziggy Hood --- Quick off the ball. Had some success with initial burst/moves. Flew upfield on a draw play, but saw the RB and was able to change directions and get in on the tackle. Looked athletic on the play. Used a rip move and his hands to get penetration on a pass play in the 4th Qtr. Struggled vs double teams. Gets moved off the ball. Gets turned sideways and moved out of the play. Tackled Davis on a cutback run up the middle went nowhere.

* Mitch King --- Got held by Wood on early play when he started to get penetration. Got penetration on run play, but Oher blocked him enough so that he couldn't get to the RB. Used spin move to get off block of Oher and pressure Wilson. Fought off a block to get in on tackle of RB to the right side. Fired off the ball and into Wood on a running play. Shed the block and grabbed the RB to limit the play to a yard or so. Side-stepped a block and then was able to move laterally and get the RB in the hole for no gain. Used a good swim move to get pressure and hit White as he threw a pass late in the game.

* Cody Brown --- Crashed down inside vs early run. Used an inside move to get into the backfield, but ran right by the RB. Crashed down on another 1st Qtr run. Ended up taking on the FB. Bit on run fake on bootleg play and let White get to the edge. Got held badly by Oher on draw play. Got the flag. Hustled out wide to get in on tackle of WR after quick throw. Chased down Wilson after he started to run. Put JP down with some authority after a 10-yd gain.

* Tim Jamison --- Got pressure on Wilson on early bootleg play. Didn't look smooth in COD, but was able to shift from run to chasing JP quickly. Forced him to throw the ball away. Lacked burst off the ball. Showed good awareness vs a draw play. Worked his way inside to tackle a RB on a run up the middle.

* BJ Raji --- Poor start. Tried a spin move on the opening drive and went nowhere. Got moved off the ball by Caldwell on the 2nd series on a run play. Used a spin move to go from RDT around the LDT, but the QB moved up in the pocket before BJ got pressure. Shed the block of Wood and helped to disrupt a run up the middle. Way too finesse. Didn't bull rush and use his power nearly enough. Used a spin move to get off a double team near the GL. Unfortunately that opened up a running lane for the QB and led to a TD.

* Alex Magee --- Played DT. Hustled after a screen pass. Dove, but wasn't able to tackle Brown. Used a good swim move to get some pressure late in the game.

* Ron Brace --- Held his ground vs a double team on an onside run. Play only got a yard or so. Showed great hustle on a screen pass. The play started at the 49. Brace came upfield, then saw the pass. He started chasing and got the RB down at the 20. Gotta love that from a big man. Hustled in pursuit on several other plays. Got moved off the ball on run inside the 5. Got some penetration on a 4th Qtr run and helped to disrupt the play.

* Larry English --- Started at DE. Crashed down hard vs inside run. Hit FB from the side and then tackled the RB for minimal gain. Used spin move on early pass to get inside of Oher and pressure the QB. Avoided a cut block on PA pass and helped to pressure Wilson. Got burned on Flip 90. Bit hard inside. Didn't look fluid in COD. Got burned by bootleg play where White ran. Did hustle to get in on the tackle downfield.

* Connor Barwin --- Got a few snaps at DE in passing situations. Blew by Herman J with a good burst and by rounding the edge tightly. Just missed hitting Wilson as he was throwing. Actually did get a piece of the ball and the pass was way off target.

LB

* Nic Harris ---

* Zack Follett --- Began at MLB. Showed good speed and range in the game. Made stops inside and along the sideline. Overran early run to the left side. Just went by his gap. Got sealed by Wood on a run up the middle. Made a good tackle of Jennings on a run right up the middle. Had tight coverage on the TE a few times. Showed good speed and awareness in chasing Wilson out of bounds on a busted running play. Looked awkward moving laterally. Got blocked on the QB draw TD. Side-stepped the RB, but got sealed by the G. Tried to blow up a screen pass. Gambled and took an inside angle. OL got a small shot on him and that let the RB get upfield. Got into the backfield on Johnson's short TD run. Got him by the ankle, but couldn't hold on cleanly. Made a solid tackle of Jennings on an off tackle run. Lowered his shoulder and made the stop.

* Marcus Freeman --- Made a solid tackle of FB after short catch over the middle. Got blocked by FB on Jennings cutback run. Got blocked too easily by Green on early run. Didn't affect play, but must shed better. Covered the FB tightly on a PA pass. Got blocked too easily on inside run. TE walled him off and opened a big hole, but MLB made the stop. Showed some speed, hustle in chasing White and forcing him out of bounds. Tackled a RB on a play that came right at him.

* Clint Sintim --- Hustled in pursuit of Jennings on run play. Took a good angle and forced him out of bounds. Got blocked by FB on a run to his side and lost sight of the ball. Had to look around for where the runner was. Got held by Oher when he tried to set the edge on a run play. No call. Got a good shot on RB/pile as a couple of other defenders were making a tackle. Took on the FB and helped to bottle up an inside run. Slow to come over and make the tackle on Wilson on the QB draw TD. Should have stopped him. Made a poor tackle attempt on Brown out in space. Took an okay angle, but was far too casual in going for Brown. Just reached for him. Made a good tackle on a run play inside the 10. Chased down Brown near sideline on Flip 90. Made a good tackle.

* Tyrone McKenzie --- Worked his way to the RB on a play that went away from him. Moved through trash to find the ball and get in on the tackle. Broke up a pass to the TE. Played off and then hit him as the ball got there. Looked solid in his drops. Made a solid tackle on a draw play. Did a good job of maintaining outside leverage on some runs. Needs to be more stout, though. Also has to shed blocks so he can get in on the tackles. Fired into the backfield on a run play, but wasn't able to get the RB.

* Scott McKillop --- TFL on first run play. Got into the hole and made a solid wrap-up tackle of Brown. Made a good tackle of Brown on a run up the middle. Didn't come upfield. Worked his way over to the hole and then made a wrap-up tackle. Hustled over to cover the RB in the flat. The pass went to a WR, turned it into a nice gain. Scott hustled down and got in on the tackle 30+ yds downfield. Made a nice tackle to prevent a TD. Worked his way out wide and grabbed James Davis by the ankles to keep him out of the end zone. Used his hands to fight off a block and moved laterally along the LOS. Textbook stuff. Slipped a block early in the 2nd half and got Brown down for a minimal gain. Fought off FB's block to make the tackle on a screen pass.

Showed his limitations a few times. Had a couple of plays where he attacked upfield and the play went away from him. Was slow to change directions and pursue. White scrambled late in the game. McKillop was out in space and had plenty of room to work with, but just wasn't fast enough to even get close to Pat.

DB

* Darius Butler --- Made an excellent tackle of Turner after a catch along the sideline. Exploded through him to put Patrick on the ground. Actually knocked him back a couple of yards. Had good coverage of Turner in the endzone on a pass attempt. Got away with illegal contact, but did a good job of not letting Turner get inside him or a clean release to the outside. Almost picked off the pass, but had to turn and reach down for the ball and wasn't able to hang on. Got beaten for a catch by Thomas, then missed the tackle. Mike turned the gain from 10 to 25 yds with the missed tackle.

* Morgan Trent ---

* Deangelo Smith --- Jumped early inside pass to Turner. Cheated up on the play, but did make a nice break on the ball. Got beaten by Turner on out route. Was just slow to break on the ball. Had to react instead of anticipating and lacks the burst to close on the ball in that situation. Did break quickly on a RZ pass to Carr. Guessed right and hit him as the ball got there. Got beaten for long TD by Wallace. Smith read the play, but Wallace just ran by him.

* Keenan Lewis ---

* David Bruton --- Had okay coverage on Cosby on a deep seam pass. Cosby got a step on him. Bruton never knew the ball was coming, but it was a bit off target and fell INCL. Dove for Brown on a screen pass, but couldn't make the tackle. Made a tackle of Mike Thomas after a catch and run. Seemed like he waited a long time to initiate contact. Came up to tackle RB on outside run. Looked awkward, almost hesitant on the play. Gave up 8 yds. Could have gotten him down for only 3 or 4. Came up to make a solid tackle of Turner after a slant pass. Did get his helmet knocked off. Was slow to come up and make a tackle on GL run. Gave up a TD. Made a sloppy tackle of FB after sBroke up a downfield pass that was badly thrown. Should have been an INT, but Bruton has hands of stone.

* Macho Harris --- Looked good in punt coverage. Had tight coverage and perfect inside position on a downfield pass to Wallace. Gave up a completion to Turner on a slant. Made a nice break on the ball, but didn't make the tackle.

* Louis Delmas --- Hit Johnson when he was fighting to get in the endzone. Wasn't able to stuff him. Had an outstanding tackle on a draw play late in the half. Came up from deep to take out the runner's legs and make sure he went down. Exploded through the RB and put him on his head. Made a sloppy tackle of White on bootleg run, but did get him down.

* William Moore --- Sloppy tackle attempt on early run by Brown. Sloppy tackle attempt on run by Jennings. Angle should have been better. Ended up diving for his ankle and couldn't make the play.

* Patrick Chung --- Showed good range and hustle. Was around the ball a lot. Very active game. So-so tackle on first pass to FB. Got him down, but it wasn't a strong tackle. Got a shot on WR after he dropped a pass. Solid hit. Had tight coverage of TE McCall on bootleg. Wilson threw the ball away. Got in on a tackle near the GL. McKillop got Davis down low and Patrick popped him up high to make sure he didn't get into the endzone. Fought off a block to be able to help on the play.
