* LT Phil Trautwein had some penalties, but played well aside from that. He was good in pass pro. Moved his feet well. Needs more bulk.

* QB Stephen McGee - Texas A&M --- He was one of my players to watch back in August. McGee had a troublesome year. He battled for his job. He dealt with new coaches and injury issues. Maybe he can put that stuff behind him and show scouts that he still has the ability to be an NFL QB.

* QB Mike Reilly - Central Washington --- Very good player at the D2 level now gets a chance to play against big time competition. Mike shows some NFL ability, but I'm curious to see how well he plays. He's working with better talent, but also facing tougher defenses.

* LB/DE Victor Butler - Oregon State --- He lists at 6'2, 238. Butler is a good pass rusher and played DE at OSU. Pro teams will probably prefer him at OLB. I hope Butler gets a chance to play LB in this game. I want to see what he does in terms of dropping back and playing in space. I know he is quick off the ball. I know he plays hard.

* WR Jarrett Dillard - He did what I expected. Got open and caught the ball. Had a very nice over the shoulder TD catch. I'm still not sure about his top speed, but Dillard is a heck of a WR. I like this kid a lot. He's not top 75 material. I'm aware of his limitations. He just reminds me of the kind of guy who you can trust to make plays.
---------------------
* Max Unger --- He struggled in drills. BJ Raji got the best of him. Ron Brace got the best of him. Mitch King then gave him fits with his quickness.

* Alex Mack --- Looked very good at C. Showed good feet, balance, and strength. Got driven back initially a couple of times, but then re-set and stood firm. Looked okay at G.

* Kraig Urbik --- Good showing. Used his hands well. Moved his feet. Got beaten by Hood with a quick outside move, but didn't give up on the play. Really battles on every snap. Hood beat him with a spin move, but Urbik recovered and rode him wide of the QB.

* Andy Levitre --- Struggled at OT. Lacks the athletic ability to handle top edge rushers. He'll need to play G in the NFL. Helped drive DT to the ground when doubling with the C on a pass play in team drill. Used his hands very well in taking on Jamison and King.

* OG Trevor Canfield --- He struggled on Day 1, but looked much more comfortable on Tuesday. Adjusted to the competition and it showed. Moved his feet to get in better position. Used his hands to lock onto defenders. Battled.

* C/G Antoine Caldwell --- Has the kind of thick, powerful build NFL teams like. Played both G and C. Struggled at G on first try, but improved after that. Tough to move when he gets position and makes contact. Really battles his guy. Looked better in his second series at G. Lined up at LG and handled Walker. Used his hands well and moved his feet.

* FB Tony Fiammetta --- Had good blocks in the drills as well as the team session. Picked up blitzers and blocked well on run plays.

* DE Kyle Moore --- Looked terrific. Beat Herman Johson with speed outside, then came back and beat him inside. Beat Caldwell with a good arm-over move. Then beat Caldwell with an inside move and spin to the QB. Really stood out at DE.

* DE/DT Alex Magee --- Replacement player. Looked quick off the ball in some snaps he took at DT. Showed good athletic ability. Teams wanting a 1-gap DT or a LDE have to be intrigued by him.

* DE Robert Ayers --- Very good bullrush on Kropog. Drove him backward with power and ease. Got a couple of reps at DT. Tried a move, but had better success with bullrush. Then did use a good spin move to get by Luigs. Showed good power and some athleticism.

* WR Mohmaed Massaquoi --- Has size and ability, but hasn't stood out to me. Had a drop on an easy slant pass. Needs to show very good hands. I'd also like to see him stand out, prove that he's not just another numbers (Ht, Wt, Speed) guy.

* G Tyronne Green --- He's my #1 G prospect, but didn't play like it on Tuesday. Needs to step his game up. Struggled with Moala (like everyone else).

* WR Mike Wallace --- Showed excellent burst and ran very good routes. Also had a drop. That just killed me. You can't have a guy like him dropping the ball. You can see Mike has very good potential. I'm not sure what his value is.

* C/G Antoine Caldwell --- Getting a lot of snaps at G. He is thick and strong and plays really physical football. I like the way he really battles on each play. He got beaten off the ball a couple of times, but always stuck with the block as long as he could. All OL get beat. You love the guys who don't give up.

* G Tyronne Green --- He's been my #1 G for a while. Apparently only me and his mom feel that way about him. Green had a good day. He was stout and really fought on every snap. Stood out to me in the team session more than the drills.

* MLB Scott McKillop played well. He had 7 tackles and a TFL. Scott showed what there is to like about him. He located the ball and made physical wrap-up tackles.

RB Bernard Scott was the most intriguing player going into the game. He didn't disappoint. Scott looked great. You could see his athleticism and running ability. He's not just a small school kid with big numbers. He has NFL talent. He's showed good burst and speed. He was also elusive. Vision looked pretty good. The thing that stood out to me was his strength. Scott wasn't going down on first contact. Part of that was elusiveness and balance, but another key is strength. He was able to break some arm tackles. You love seeing that from a kid who's got a medium build and athletic ability.

G Roger Allen caught my eye. He was the best interior OL in the game. He got push in the run game. He worked to sustain blocks. He looked solid on the 2nd level. Pass pro needs work. He did give up a sack. DT Will Johnson got the best of him a couple of times on pass plays.

RE: Playmakers with some RS ability in this draft outside of the 1st round

Joe Burnett - 16 INTs, 5 RS TDs
Ladarius Webb - 7 INTs, 3 RS TDs (in 2 years at Nicholls State)
Macho Harris - 15 INTs, 1 RS TD
Jairus Byrd - 17 INTs, 1 RS TD (ran slow 40 and might have to move to S)
DJ Moore - 13 INTs, experience as PR/KOR
Captain Munnerlyn - 5 INTs in 3 years, experience as PR/KOR
Deangelo Smith - 12 INTs, experience as PR/KOR (I prefer him at S and not CB)
Deandre Wright - 10 INTs, KOR experience
Ellis Lankster - 3 INTs in '08, some experience as PR/KOR

Burnett and Webb are playmaking guys. I like Macho Harris quite a bit.

RE: DEs who could play SAM

Cody Brown - UConn
Victor Butler - Oregon State
Jarrett Buie - USF
Slade Norris - Oregon State
Brandon Long - Michigan State (I just started studying his tape...great Pro Day)
Stryker Sulak - Mizzou (maybe)

There are plenty of guys who are the right size. Nick Reed is 6'1 1/2, 250. I just don't think he's athletic enough for what we want. Long is the most intriguing guy on the list above. He's not a great pass rusher, but he is athletic and will be physical.

CB Toler makes the most of his opportunity

Posted: March 31st, 2009 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Greg Toler, Richmond, St. Paul's College

It isn’t often that a prospect from St. Paul’s College generates much attention heading into the draft — not a single player from the small Virginia school has ever been selected — but CB Greg Toler is changing that this year.

He was recently mentioned in Steve Wyche’s column highlighting small-school players to watch and he is capitalizing on his rising profile with some solid workouts. According to Wyche, he has drawn comparisons to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Toler performed in front of scouts on March 19 at Richmond’s pro day and measured in at 5-foot-11, 191 pounds. There was a strong crosswind and the jumps were done after the position workouts due to rain. He ran a 4.50 and 4.45 in the 40, had a 33½-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 8-inch broad jump, a 4.18 short shuttle, a 6.95 three-cone drill and did 13 bench press reps.

RB/FB Brock Bolen (5-11½, 233 pounds) ran the 40 in times of 4.77 and 4.80 with a 31½-inch vertical leap and a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump. He did the short-shuttle drill in 4.35 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.95 seconds, and did 24 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press.

DT Adrian Grady (6-1¼, 307 pounds) ran the 40 in 5.20 and 5.18 seconds with a 33-inch vertical and an 8-foot, 10-inch broad jump. He put up times of 4.63 in the short shuttle and 7.52 in the three-cone drill, and he didn’t participate in the bench press.

CB Woodny Turenne (5-11 3/8, 183 pounds) did the 40 in times of 4.49 and 4.54 seconds with a 32½-inch vertical and a 10-foot broad jump. He had a 4.39 short shuttle and a 6.93 three-cone drill, with 12 reps on the bench.

WKU - DE Dan Cline (6-5 3/8, 272 pounds). He ran a 4.89 and 4.91 in the 40, had a 30½-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 6-inch broad jump, a 4.58 short shuttle, a 7.29 three-cone drill and did 21 strength lifts.
2008: 33 tkls, 8 TFLs, FF, BK

Richmond - RB Josh Vaughan (5-11 1/4, 224 pounds) had times of 4.59 and 4.63 in the 40-yard dash, with a 37-inch vertical leap and a 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump. He had times of 4.15 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.10 seconds in the three-cone drill, with 36 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press.
2008: 355-1994-20 ... 46 careeer catches

Monmouth TE John Nalbone measured in at 6-4 1/4 and 257 pounds. He ran a 4.75 and 4.81 40-yard dash, a 4.22 short shuttle and 6.97 three-cone drill, with a 30-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 3-inch broad jump and 22 strength lifts. Two days later, Nalbone worked out in front of scouts at Monmouth University, where he measured in six pounds lighter at 251. There he posted a 4.63 and 4.66 40-yard dash, a 4.22 short shuttle, 6.94 three-cone-drill, a 30-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump and 22 strength lifts.

Maine DE/LB Jovan Belcher (6-1 3/8, 243) ran a 4.90 and 4.88 40-yard dash, 4.25 short shuttle and 7.07 three-cone drill. Belcher recorded a 30-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot broad jump and 19 bench press lifts.

S Otis Wiley (6-1, 212 pounds) ran times of 4.64 and 4.67 in the 40 with a 35 1/2-inch vertical and a 9-foot, 10-inch broad jump. He had a 4.34 short shuttle and a 6.97 three-cone drill, with nine reps on the bench press.

Michigan Tech DB Robert Haynes (5-9 1/4, 189 pounds), who also participated in Grand Valley State’s pro day, ran the 40 in 4.36 and 4.40 and had a 35 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 5-inch broad jump. He had a 4.18 short shuttle and 26 reps on the bench.
* Haynes ran 40 times of 4.38 and 4.43 and had a 38-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 6-inch broad jump. He went 4.21 in the short shuttle and 7.06 in the three-cone drill, and he did 26 reps on the bench press.

CB Vince Butler (5-9 3/4, 186 pounds) looked strong at New Mexico State’s pro day, which was held on March 11, with 12 players working out for representatives from five NFL teams.

Butler, who will work out for the Cowboys on April 13, had times of 4.46 and 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a 34 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump. He also had a 4.05-second short shuttle and a 6.76-second three-cone drill, and he did 14 repetitions on the bench press.

QB Chase Holbrook (6-4 5/8, 244 pounds) stood on his numbers from the combine.

CB Derek Cox (6-1 1/4, 188 pounds) got a strong look, and he’ll work out with the Raiders and Patriots next week. He had times of 4.39 and 4.42 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a 36 1/2-inch vertical and an 11-foot, 8-inch broad jump. He also had a 4.11-second short shuttle and a 6.80-second three-cone drill, and he did 12 reps on the bench press.

GVSU DL Dan Skuta (6-2 1/2, 249 pounds)...who also worked at linebacker, fullback and halfback, had times of 4.76 and 4.72 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a 35-inch vertical and a 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump. He had a 4.42 short shuttle and a 7.05 three-cone drill, and he did 20 repetitions on the bench press.

CB William Middleton (5-9 3/8, 193 pounds) were the hottest names at the workout. Bell, who participated at the combine in Indianapolis, stood on most of his numbers, though he put up 29 repetitions on the bench press. Middleton had fast 40 times of 4.43 and 4.42 seconds, and he posted a 36 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 9-inch broad jump. He also had a 4.37 short shuttle and a 7.33 three-cone drill, and he did 21 reps on the bench press.

Akron OL Chris Kemme (6-6, 306), who ran the 40 in 5.18 and 5.19 seconds and had a 29-inch vertical and a 9-foot broad jump. He had a 4.59 short shuttle and a 7.63 three-cone drill, and he did 25 reps on the bench press.

Don Carey Carey obviously was the main attraction, and he showed off a 32 1/2-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot, 2-inch broad jump.
