Moving Forward Options

so all this is going to come down to is...

A. People who ripped people off and know they won't get those players back
vs
B. People who have made either a bad deal or is worried they are gonna lose out on some key training time...

either way it comes down to everyone caring for them and not for the league...

tbh the only one who has given a nonselfish reason is J, and I guess even draft fever is selfish, but doesn't effect his team at all

I don't like option C. I missed most of the season anyways, but still. Scouting, developing, and the main point, that I am thoroughly surprised no one has made a massive stink about is.... CONTRACTS!!! You can't just go in and offer them what they signed for, there's a good chance they wont resign. Like what Jake said, you cant edit contracts with the saved game editor, only the pre-game editor. If the season is resimmed and Alfie, Spezza and Havlat go down injured early for a long time, and my team sits near the bottom for the better part of the year, I'm gonna have a hell of a lot harder time resigning guys. This is a big issue that there is absolutely no way around.

VOTE NO TO OPTION C!!

Personally I like the option where we just redo the season.Chances are I wont get Oskar Moller :( but oh well, we will all suffer.

I'm fine with whatever, but the simple fact is that option C is pointless. And I think insulting people by calling them "selfish" doesn't help the situation. EVERYONE'S expressed opinion has a selfish aspect to it. No need to stoke fires that aren't burning yet.

Jeff is right - we should wait for Riz before we jump into anything.

Beyond that, I'm going to express an idea that I've expressed every season of every league... If people are so giddy to start the draft, let's start it on the boards right now. If the Nucks know who they're picking, why not let him pick now and let the #2 team get on the clock. At the very least, it would speed up the draft when we finally get to that point.

The only option that will not benefit one person more then the other is to start over. Plain and simple, any option, assuming the file doesn't get fixed, is going to benefit some person some way and cause trouble for the other person. The only reason I'm pissed is because I would have gotten two high picks (top 10) and a 3rd first rounder in the draft, so this draft was a huge one for me, but honestly if we start over completely I'm fine with that. However, I don't want to lose that opportunity, and the team I (partially) built, just because of somebodies training regime and the arguable "huge" difference it makes. Honestly, all the deals I made this season I believe have helped both teams in some way or another. I made it a point not to try and hose somebody because I am new to this game/league and there were people who made sure they didn't do it to me because of that.(there were also people who tried to take advantage of it as well).

Hey, don't take my word for it...just look at what Drew did with Bertuzzi.

He'll, when the league started, Bure's atts in the right column were 10s and 11s. Look at him now. He's a superstar. And I was able to do that with him starting as a 35 year old because of my development system.

Option C will make most of the 35+ guys decline, many of them into uselessness. That helps the younger teams(like mine...how's that for selfishness?) but it will cripple the teams that rely on older players.

I have the 3/5 compromise (for all the students of American history). It's a blend of options B & C. Will explain more when I get home from work.

Greedy Draft Pick Whore
What about completely starting over from 2006? Well, no one is going to like that, but it's fair, I guess :/

Maybe we can re-pick teams and I can somehow get my hands on the Maple Leafs <3

LOL! who are the "Other peoples"?

But seriousely, going back to the start doesn't benifit me in any way other than the fact that I can actually follow my team. I had a couple trades that were good to me that im going to lose if we restart, but I don't care.
