So jason your gonna sign every player to the exact same contract as they have now? If so im ok with option C but if there are guys who wont sign at all or to the same price as they did ( due to factors as teams playing worse then they did etc..) then thats just not right. The firing rule will need to be backed up a year as well IMO.

It would also be a good idea to stop the offline sim for one day ( maybe friday or saturday ) at the deadline so everyone can set there lines and tacs and practice with their whole roster.

Planned on stopping around camp for tactics/practice. We can stop later in the season if people think it's necessary.

I really don't think option C will work...feel like the pesimist here but also a realist.

Contracts - It seems pretty easy like yeah we will enter the same contracts to everyone that has em now, but some of these contracts took me a long time to work out, and I am sure others had equally as much trouble. There is more to a contract than just salary, bonuses are huge and play a part in your cap and length is very important too, Not sure how your gonna do this as cap and budgets will make sure that some of this will be damn near impossible.

Development - I agree somewhat that skipping a season will have a non lasting effect, but the immediate effect will be huge. Have you seen a player who has been practiced wrong (Tired or Resting) I had a guy on resting for 2 sims and half his atts fell 1. I know you say we can get in before to set it, but I am gonna end up with a team full of tired players losing every game 11-0....and any development lost will completely screw some teams over next year, imo. When I got Bertuzzi He was crap, it took me a season and a half to get him up...now I understrand for some guys it wouldn't take that long...but if I have a team full of bertuzzi's cause I wasn't around to do my practices, I will be pretty much out of contention for at least a season

Personally we need to take it pretty slow no matter which wasy we go...training is just too important to get in the game two or three times over a 8 month period.

I figured something like this would happen...

we have some people VERY strong for option C, cause they have picked up some key players they won't be able to get back (Luongo, Richards, Lundqvist)

we have some indifferent guys, you know the laid back ones (dano and gav) who will just play the game

and we have the anti C guys, who don't think it will work, I am not gonna lie just like the guys who want to recreate the season, I have an agenda...I don't think it will work out quite as planned and for a guy who has a team based on youngsters who I am slowly progressing (Stafford, Makarov, Glass, Smid, Ballard and others) I am worried I will be getting the shaft in this way.

as I ramble...the important part is that we just play the game, someone is gonna be pissed here, some more than others..as I see at least 1 quit from both sides, but whatever happens I will be fine with cause its a game and I just wanna play, and hopefully we can all take that perspective.

Oh and I fear we are jumping the gun here. I know everyone wants to draft, but Riz is a busy busy man, I have talked with him a few times ( about joining NB) but each time it has taken him a few days to respond. I know we all have draft fever, but lets not jump the gun so we can draft this weekend.

I agree with Drew on that last part. I think we need to give Riz ample time to respond. I would rather wait a few days and postpone the draft just to have the chance to save what we have.

I see what you're saying about development drew, I acquired some big players this season, went younger imo, and started trying to develop prospects so I'm in the same boat as you. The development, or lack of in this case, is going to effect everybody the same way so it's not like you'll be put on a uneven playing field.

You're right though, people are going to be pissed either way. I know I'll be extremely pissed if I lose the picks i have in the 1st round (1st overall) as well as some of the deals I made to make my team my own.

Should note that I don't plan on leaving regardless of what happens, just for clarification.

I won't complain either way, but I'd have to agree with Jake and Drew.

Mind you that's coming from someone who started the season off with a terrible team and made a bunch of deals to make the team better. Still, I'd rather start over and get my training than to put so much effort into perfectly recreating the past season and having some players regress.

Its not the same for everyone as far as development goes. Someone who can develope a guy better then another loses alot more through the course of a season then another.
