NY - - - - - Eddy Curry is the latest victom of General Manager Mike Sargolini's plot to rid the team of large contracts. Curry is heading to San Antonio. In return the Knicks will recieve the expiring contract of Marcus Williams, 6-10 foward Matt Bonner, and the rights to the Spurs Amnesty Cut. The Knicks also sent the 2009 2nd Round Pick that was aquired earlier in the offseason from the Cavaliers to San Antonio.

Eddy Curry, aquired back in 2005, has been too inconsistant for the Knicks presidents liking. "He's got skill, no doubt. The only question is, is he dedicated to being the best? And to be honest, I'm not too sure that he is. I wish Eddy all the best and hopefully he can turn his career around in San Antonio". Curry is in a similar position as the other most recent former Knick, Jamal Crawford. Both are being given shots to play for a contender.

Curry had his best year as a Knick back in 2006-2007, averging 19.5 PPG, while shooting 58% from the field. Last season was anything different for Eddy. Maybe because he was hurt, or maybe because of Zach Randolph, but he was not the same player he was the year before. Last season, Curry averged a mere 13.2 PPG.

"I loved New York, and still will. I had many good memories in that orange and blue, but I'm happy to be a Spur and to play along side Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili", said Curry. Hopefully I can experience that winning tradition and win a championship with the Spurs."

Marcus Williams isn't expected to remain with the Knicks organization all that long. Reports say he could be cut as early as today to make room for potential Free Agents. The Spurs are interesting in bringing him back on a one year, minimum contract.

It is unsure of what the Knicks will do with Bonner or that amnesty cut. They could trade it? or even use it on Bonner. We'll have to see. But after this deal it looks like the vocal point of this offense will be Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler. A Rookie and second year player respectively.

Our sources have told us the Knicks are out their looking at potential deals for foward David Lee and combo guard Nate Robinson. We'll see.
