It's MAGIC, you KNOW!
Magic Place Waiver Claim On Star

NY - - - - - Jamal Crawford is now a former Knickerbocker. Crawford spent four years with New York. His best year as a pro came last season when Crawford averaged 20.1 points per game and 5 assists.

Jamal Crawford, a 6 - foot - 5 combo guard out the University of Michigan will be heading to the Sunshine state to play w/ Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. The Magic today placed a waiver claim on Crawford, sending a 2009 1st round draft pick to New York as compansation. Orlando will absorb all of Crawford's salary, totaling over 28 million dollars over the next three years. Jamal will join a starstruck cast in Orlando, including Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, and Hedo Turkoglu. Jamal has never played in a single playoff game over his eight year career. We'll see if a change to the Magic can reverse that curse for Crawford.

Why would the Knicks waive their best player?

"Jamal is a great player, and an even better player. Were sad to see him go, but its the best for our franchise and for Jamal", says GM and President Sargo. Maybe he's right. Crawford now has a chance to be on a playoff team rather than average 30 points per game on a 10 win team. Crawford wont have the pressure of being the number one guy. "He can play robin to our batman", says Magic head coach; batman being star Dwight Howard.

the Wizards last season in the Garden.

Crawford will no longer wear #11 after his former idol, head coach, and president Isiah Thomas. He will go back to his former #1 jersey that he wore back in Chicago.

The first round pick the New York Knicks will recieve is unprotected and it will give the Knicks two in the upcoming draft. We'll have more later in the season about the Knicks draft plans.
