NY - - - - - New York and Denver have agreed on a trade that will send Renaldo Balkman back to the Knicks the Daily News has learned. Balkman was traded to Denver a few weeks ago in a deal that sent a future pick to the Knicks. Well that deal was essential reversed today. Under new management the Knicks sent nearly aquired, Damon Jones and a 2010 2nd Round Pick to Denver. Denver will also send Chucky Atkins to New York; however, Atkins will likely be cut to make room on the roster.

Balkman, the 6-8 foward, will join the Knick rotation this upcoming season backing up both the guard and foward positions for coach D'Antoni.

"WOW. I'm so happy to be back in New York. I love the city, the players, the coaches and everything. This week in Denver I felt lost and now I'm saved", said Balkman.

New York also used their amnesty cut on former Isiah Thomas signee, Jared Jeffries. Jeffries was known more for his December 2006 fight with the Denver Nuggets than his actual play on the court. The clear cut of Jeffries will save the Knicks around 18 million dollars over the next three years. The Knicks will be able to spend some serious mule now this offseason. They will have around 32 million to spend in Free Agency, which is amazing.
