My Secret Life is a forum for people who have, or have had, eating disorders. We are a small but active community. No matter what stage you are at with your eating disorder - in it, recovering from it, or in remission from it - you are welcome here.

To gain access to the forum, you will need to register ( http://s1.zetaboards.com/My_Secret_Life/register/ ) . Registered members can read, post, reply, create and vote in polls, have a profile and PM other members. Guests can read a limited amount of the forum.

If you were on In Ana's Hands, or have been invited from another forum by one of our members, please PM one of the admins after registering. It may shorten the time before you can gain access to full member areas.

General Forum and Posting Rules

We do not allow posting of: tips, slander, abusive/hateful/defamatory/unkind speech, discrimination, excessive profanity, spam, flaming/trolling, pornography, nudity, bigotry, promotion of illegal activity and any other kind of illegal and/or distasteful content.

Posting links is allowed, in signatures, and in the designated forums, however they must abide to the Zetaboards ToS.

Some forums will have rules that are specific to them. Look carefully at the top of each forum to check for rules.

Warnings need to be added to posts that may be detailed, graphical or triggering. Trigger warnings are as following:
ED = Eating Disorder
PA = Physical Abuse
GA = General Abuse
SA = Sexual Abuse
RA = Ritual Abuse / RSA = Ritual Sexual Abuse
SI = Self Injury / SH = Self Harm
SU = Suicide

Accounts, Signatures, Avatars

Every member is responsible for their own username and password. You are responsible for any posts made in your account.
Pictures in signatures are allowed, but they must be small. If your signature is too big, you will be told to make it smaller. If you do not, it will be removed for you.
Avatars must not be sexually graphic, or triggering. If your avatar is deemed as either, you will be asked to change it. If you do not, it will be removed.


Privacy

No member of this forum will every request personal information about you, unless you volunteer to help at the site. Please don't give out your telephone number, email or home address. If you choose to do so, you do at your own risk. We strongly urge you to get to know someone online very well, for months, before giving out personal information.
We recommend opening a separate email address that you can give people online, to keep you safe.
If you receive unsolicited emails or other forms of communication, please save those items and forward them to staff at my.secret.life@hotmail.co.uk

I've done a bunch of updates today.

The only MSL team left is the newsletter team, which currently consists of Nikki and Sarah. I know most of you can't see it, but MSL HQ has been changed.

The sister sites links have been cleaned up, as some of those forums had closed or moved.

A lot of archiving has been done.

The arcade has been removed as it still hasn't been updated.

AiO (the money system) has also been removed as they're using a new system now that we haven't upgraded to. If the forum becomes used again, then we might upgrade to the new system.

There are still a few members who are logging in from time to time to see how things are going here. We'd all love to know how everyone is doing, so please reply here and keep us updated.

I'm now married, my daughter has been born and we're doing pretty well. I am having some troubles with my weight and body shape, but am coping relatively well with them so far.

I remember back when MSL first came out, someone had made a 88X31 icon, but I cannot find it.

I added a "Link Us" box in the Important notice in the sister site section. I think it would be really cool to add that image in there. Right now, I make shifted one(a 32x32 one), but it isn't a good as the other one. (Or at least I think so.)

If we cannot find it, or someone wants to make more and other ones, I would be more than happy to use it!

Hello lovely's. I just wanted to stop by and say hi. Things have been crazy for me. But I want you all to know I miss you soooo much!

Some of the things that have been going on in my life:

My parents got divorced
My mom moved out of my childhood home with my little sister, leaving my dad to live there alone.
I broke up with my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years
I then moved back to my childhood house with my dad after living with my ex for 2 years.
My sister had a baby ( I am now an aunt)
My parents sold my childhood home
I then moved into my mothers apartment
Oh and to top it all off I then found out my dog has a disease called Megasophagus. (Google it).

It has been very very very hard for me these past few months. But I am hoping to get on more soon to talk to all of you lovely's. I miss you. I hope you all are doing well!

(sorry for the improper use of grammer and maybe misspelled words. i am on my husbands laptop and trying to hurry.)

so i thought that ever thing with the trips to the er room were finished.... apparently not. on Thursday June 3rd i began to have some pains in my lower right abdomen area and I thought I was having another ovarian cyst rupture so i really didn't want to be dragged back into the er within a 2 week span. They ordered all of these tests and I was there for hours. and I was wondering why i was there so long because if it was an ovarian cyst rupture they would just give me some pain meds and send me home. well I had been there since around 8 pm and around 3 that morning the doctor finally came back into my room and was like "you have appendicitis " and was talking all of this stuff I really didn't care about but he was talking mostly to my mom. he said the only way they could remove my appendix there would be to have open surgery and neither my mom or i didn't want to do that so they transferred me to a doctor around 2 hours away to to a laproscopic appendectomy. i came home a couple days ago but i have been cooped up at my husbands family for the past 2 and a half days without internet and stuff. i can't hold solid foods and his family kept trying to get me to eat which made me almost throw up. mom was suprised the hospital released me even though i was having problems keeping food down. i have 3 incisions on my stomach where they did the surgery.

Anyway, I won't keep drowning on. since i have had to miss school today and because I am still recovering i don't know how long i will be away. Not too long just long enough for me to be able to sit in a chair without hurting and be able to catch up in my summer class work. i am so sorry that I have to be gone.

My Secret Life was started on September 1, 2009, as a place for people with Eating Disorders to find support and understanding.
