Hey guys, I've lurked this forum for a long time coming back every few months to check out whats new. Never really had much to post before tho. I draw quite a lot but not in the bbw category so I can't say I feel I know what makes good art in it. Would love some critique on my stuff. And I'd also like to know if there are any good tutorials made about drawing bbws. To be honest all the tutorials my googling has found me have kinda sucked and been those "This is me drawing a bbw, watch and magically learn" deals. Anyways, have something I drew today. ![]() The hands are kinda crap, no need to tell me, I'll be practicing them someday. |

Welcome then, feel free to post some more though don't expect much attention as there's pretty much as many regulars in this site as there are fingers on your hands. And while it may not exactly be a topic on how to draw BBWs, My I made a critique topic a while back that you may wanna take a look at. It goes through some notes on drawings that actual members of the site uploaded and even has some dos and dont's on how to draw BBWs. It's kinda on hold until I can get my busy/lazy ass around to keep providing critique again, so don't go uploading a drawing there. Also, try searching tumblr for tutorials. I find that the ones over there get into better detail on how to draw stuff instead of doing that step by step bs that you very accurately described. Overall, I think the drawing looks nice. The linework reminds me of Kawaiidebu's style. Also, her hands look fine to me. In the future though, I think you should be a little more careful with the perspective and interaction of background elements, but that's nothing a little new line in the right spot won't fix. Thanks, and that 's a very nice tutorial. Thanks for the link to that. I personally dont have much luck looking around on tumblr myself. I personally don't consider KawaiiDebu one of my influences but I do like his art so who knws. And what background elements? ;P I basically just drew two lines so she wouldnt be floating in the air. (plus I wanted to draw some fat bending over an edge, something I've seen a lot of people forget and thus making their characters look rock solid.) And yes, I am aware the forums here are not the most active, but know what helps with that? A new member posting his stuff

Welcome good sir. Yeah, this place is post apocalyptic wasteland tier, but you maybe that main character messiah, at least for a week. then you become one of us! One of us! As far as the picture goes, I'm no artist but the butt isn't curved, its a 90 degree angle...which I think isn't...how butts work. Other than that, its a good drawing. Keep at it, man! But welcome SweChu! You look to have a good grasp of some fundamental basics. If you have a tumblr I'd reccommend following pornjunkyar on there because he always posts super helpful tutorials. BBW art, like any other definitely benefits from a good grasp of human anatomy. Everything else considered, expansion wise, the basic skeletal structure will remain the same; despite many artists tending to make a fat girl also a really really tall girl by consequence. So starting with a "normal" base and then using observation to get an idea of how fat will deposit itself around a body are very helpful in moving towards a sense of realism. Even if realism isn't an end goal, its important that stylistic deviation from realism be an intentional and deliberate action from you, the artist. |

Man I really wanted to reply with art... But artblock strikes again, darn you artblock!
Well how butts work is that they are soft and squishy and forms to what its pshed up against. Maybe I didnt do it well, I dont know, but thats what I was trying to illustrate either way. And thanks Debu |

![]() It's not that you didn't do it well. You have the right idea of it, butts are indeed squishy (especially meaty ones) she just doesn't have the huge ass everyone wants to see in this site. I will say you might want to be careful next time about HOW much of it gets squished though. Edited by Block Devil, Jul 17 2012, 01:40 AM.

Block Devil might be right about the butt preference thing, but I still feel like her butt should flow out a bit more to make the transition from the thigh to butt a bit less extreme. Why? We'll yes I like big butts and I cannot lie, but when people sit down their thigh and butt really expand outward and I feel that that would go along with her figure, after all she has meaty thighs so she should have the gluteus to support it. Also, I'm not sure about this but to me I'm getting an impression as if she were in some extremely tight shorts that would cause her belly in the back to surge out while restraining her ass. There are exceptions to the rule but I think the belly and butt transition in the back could be toned down. Otherwise I think this is a pretty solid piece that shows you have a clear understanding of anatomy. I'll post two pictures to illustrate my point. 1)the transition between belly and butt to be more connected 2)even very fat girls don't create that huge of dent in their leg from sitting |
