Recently I went through Mr ZEX's art thread and provided a bit of feedback on his art. He seemed really eager to improve and this sort of sparked a fire in me, so I went through and gave him some in depth advice.

And, it felt pretty good.

So I'm starting this thread in which you can either post a drawing you would like critique on or just let me know if you have some trouble in drawing something in particular (hands, feet, faces, hair, ass, titties, etc.) and I'll see what I can do to help you guys out.

Now for the sake of me actually being able to go through each of your drawings and sorting things out with y'all I'm gonna ask that you post only 1 drawing for a certain period of time. I want to spend good time with my input so please understand. Unless of course, things get slow and I find the time to help.

The way the general tutorials may work is that if there is a consensus on a topic in general, I'll go into more detail. If it's a really specific subject then not so much. (for example, a lot of people may post that they need help with drawing panties, I will try to go in depth with that. But if only one person has trouble drawing noses, then it's just simple advice.)

Also, keep in mind that I'm gonna be honest in my opinion and I may say things that you won't like. Post at your own risk, but c'mon don't be shy. LET ME EAT YOUR HOPES AND DREea-err let me help you.

And I am being completely serious about this, feel free to ask me about anything in general but please let's keep things in good taste and in context. Don't ask me for help in drawing Sonic the Hedgehog's blue penis or something.

Advice Given: (Artists in this list must wait to submit until further notice)

B-mage
pewpew
ArchangelDreadnought
doubleyou-tee-eff
DoWhatNow
Cubofex

Wait list: (Please wait until these are finished before posting)

Hey guys, as always thanks for your patience. Without further ado let's break down DoWhatNow's drawing

Posted Image

(Which is about as PG 13 as NSFW can get, so I'll leave it out here in the open)

Now then, at first glance this is a very well executed drawing. I really like that you've been doing much cleaner linework lately as opposed to the sketchy stuff I remember from your earlier days here on MT. I'll give you props on how simplistic yet effective the BG is in the new one; it immediately gives me the impression that they are in a room, a vast improvement from the vague pink wash that doesn't really do the old one any favors. Great job on 18's breasts too. They look lumpy on the old one and don't really squish in reaction to the arms, but you've certainly fixed that up later by letting them rest on top of her chest and smushing them together, you know, LIKE REAL BOOBS (Anyone else reading this better be taking some fucking notes).

Now now, that doesn't mean I don't see anything wrong with this drawing. There definitely is not a whole lot I can point out, but...

Weightless Upper Body

Krillin honey, what are you doing back there??

Speaking of Convincing Sexual Interaction...

And that's all I got for you buddy. You're a pretty good artist overall, just gotta keep your edge on certain things. I'd like to see more colored stuff from you in the future. Until then, keep up the good work.

Here's something I did a bit recently, she's meant to be very bottom-heavy with some weight on top. I looked at what you did for B-Mage and tried to make it look a little interesting with the angle but i'm not sure if did a good job. I'm also a little apprehensive about the shading, i'm not really sure how I could do a better job of it next time.

I really like your advice! I've been reading them and they helped me a lot. Now I wonder if I doing right with this one.

BBW Sara from the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA. I left her basic anatomy shapes to let you know I stared the thin body then work my way to the goal of her weight. I also outlined her clothes to see how they fit her. Got any more advice so I can improve more? You'll really helping me out here! :D

and too make it easier for you, I took out her clothes. Don't know if NSFW to be honest! XD

Hoo boy. Let's squeeze some time out of today to give Cubofex some much needed attention. I am sacrificing my precious Xenoblade Chronicles time to do this. I hope you are happy with yourselves.

Now then, Mr. Cubofex. I don't believe I've seen you around here before. it's really nice to see people being motivated to bring some life back to this poor forum, you have my thanks. Now let's eat you alive shall we?

Posted Image

I would compliment you on your choice of colors IF I didn't already know this was someone else's character (Sorry bud). Regardless, you did a nice job with the shading if you ask me. It's a little on the simple side but I'll go into more detail on that later. I like her expression, and while the linework isn't super clean it's still quite polished.

I can definitely see what you are trying to do with the angle here, but I still get very confused with the image. At first I got the impression her thighs were just a big belly. I thought the addition of a belt would have really done the deal, but I think you could have approached this drawing a little differently.

Before we go into that though, I'd like to point out a few things:

Things to Watch Out For...

I'm glad you took the advice I gave B-mage to heart. It was a nice attempt but like I said earlier, it isn't really bringing out the best of the subject. this brings up an interesting point, because while a dynamic camera angle can work to your advantage in bringing forward the focus of a drawing, it is certainly but one of MANY things you can do to that effect.

In this case, I think that a good use of lighting and props could have brought some life to this picture.

Something Like This

Sorry I made this kinda short, but I think with the submissions piling up and my time piling down I may have to be more brief about these. Still, I hope that it helped in some way. Notes aside, I think you have a decent thing going on. Even if your approach wasn't the best, you came in with the right attitude and tried something different.
I think that's pretty admirable.

On a side note, I don't have a problem with fanart but I encourage y'all to submit original art more. I want to see how you guys handle colors, designing and the like. You can submit fanart if that's what you want, but please let me know when the character you're drawing is yours or otherwise. I get a little disappointed when I am impressed by a character design and then find out it's not your own....

hmmm, I did have this more ambitious piece of Lucca I was thinking of asking for advice on if you lifted the restriction on second helppings any time soon.
OC? not my usual cup of tea but in the interest of improving I could make something up when the thread is opened up again.

Not at all, but I'd prefer it for the sake of this forum and the community. This isn't just about giving you critique exclusively, it's also meant to give others some insight into things.

You can post your Lucca if you'd like. I'm just noticing that a lot of you gravitate towards fanart too often. That isn't really a bad thing but it starts getting stale after a while, and you can only do so much before you hit a wall when you aren't even taking any risks with it. It's like a safe-zone kinda thing.

Just draw a girl you think is sexy. They don't have to be OCs, you don't have to create a character and dedicate yourself to them. I just want you guys to get out of that fanart safe-zone and practice things like concept and context. Take some risks every once in a while, forget about what others want and let your mind run free. With strong concepts and ideas you could even turn a piece of fanart into a unique work of your own!

First part, it'd be giving insight into skinny people for use in sequences and comics.

Second part, what's the fun in making some random soulless character?

The second part the reason for that is just practice, tho I understand what your mean Pariah some people just draw random characters when it comes to practicing. Tho yeah I prefure to stick with my OCs when it comes to practicing still.

Actually I view fan art completely differently.
For me the process and the story behind the picture is everybit as important as the image itself. In cases of weight gain the state of mind and motivation/reluctance can make or break the picture for me. With fan art the character is established, there is a precedence for their personality and behavior that can be contrasted by emotion and actions of the image. With an OC the amount of material I would have to create to make these variables known is overwhelming. And then I would expect all viewers to be familiar with these works to know the character. Yes it's a shortcut using fan art for that kind of background establishment. But for the level of mental focus I desire it is necessary. The mental side of the image is huge for me.

Here is the Lucca pic in question, I'm not seeking input on this.
I'm already commited to rising to your challange to the OC thing and when you're freed up more I'll have something to post, something unique from me.
This is not seeking correction... even if it needs some

...Dude, practice is practice, it doesn't matter who the character is, Block just wants to see how creative people are and how'd they do when they have no pictures to work from.

Also, please work on your words.

Okay so here is the preliminary lineart for the latest piece I've been working on. This is my first time going so far with digital inking, the few pieces I did before were very simple. I think it would take me another good week to take a crack at coloring so I'll leave it to Block Devil here to decide if/when he wants to critique my work. BD if you’re not planning on doing it for at least week anyways then I might as well puke out some lovely photoshop newbie coloring in the meantime (though I have been studying lots of tutorials).
Before the many flaws of my piece are pointed out I'd like to clarify and list a couple of my own frustrations and just mention that since this thread is intended to help compose pictures of fat women that I'm fine with having BD decide how far he wants to go with male characters (if BD does decide to take this on though I think a lot could be learned from character interaction).
Okay here I go…
1-The guy is supposed to me somewhat shy, caught off guard, yet very much intoxicated by her. He's supposed be leaning on the boulder holding back his hands from going all out mad and he's getting a hint of excitement in his pants (but we don't have to go there...if you don't want to).
2-She is the confident assertive one, she knows he wants her and she wants him. In other words she's seducing him with not only her fleshy body but her attitude.
3-Light source is not behind the rock and is therefore shinning on the two.
4-Orginally I was going for a more realistic less anime look for the characters but I had even less success getting the expression across trying to be realistic (in the end I prefer getting their respective emotions across as accurate as possible even if I trade in some realism).
5-Her hair is mediocre.
6-Boob are pressing against him, still looks awkward...
Finally these are original characters, the armor and clothing was inspired and taken from many different artists and games; monster hunter, random sci-fi art, etc.

(tried Posted Image but it didn't work am I dumb?)

Oh and one last thing I'll post a pic of sort of emotions I was going for...
