His name was Ethan, and I first met him in kindergarten. He got a colored pencil tangeled in my blonde hair lol. I was mad at him, because I spent 20 minutes every morning brushing my blonde hair. If I could, I think I would buy him all the colored pencils in the world... and re-play that moment. He was a part of my life, since kindergarten. He was one of my brother's, Kevin, best friends. He was one of my husband's, Sean, best friends. At 13, Ethan was even my first boyfriend lol. However on the eve of May 8th... he died in a tragic car accident. He was the driver, and two of his good friends were in the car... but by God's fate they were left un-harmed. At least, they were left un-harmed on a physical level. They were the first two, to see that Ethan would never take a breath again. Ethan would never laugh again, or smile at random strangers, or even mess with just about any girl's hair. Ethan enjoyed high school very much, he was a part of my group of friends. Played football and basketball. He was the senior class vice president, and was involved in many after-school activites. After high school, we all witnessed Ethan begin to slip away. He kept telling everyone, that a lot of people were growing selfish and not keeping in touch. High school ended, and everyone went their own ways. But because of Ethan, we were all brought together once again. Now, we all know that no matter what great path you are on... you must remember the little dirt roads that got you there. It was actually Ethan that convinced Sean (my husband) to ask me out 3 years ago. If it weren't for Ethan, I probably wouldn't have married a great man or even realized the great person Sean is. If it weren't for Ethan... I wouldn't remember that is was okay to just cry... and let every tear resemble a memory of that person. Tears are still falling, as Ethan's memories can stretch on forever in my heart. Even when the tears come to an end... I'll never forget to remember... that little boy who got a red colored pencil stuck in my hair. |
