In the weeks following Edward and Bella's wedding, nothing seems to be going wrong. Though there have been some snags, and the pregnancy that caught both Bella and Edward by surprise has put a damper on things, Carlisle feels that everything is under control. Things have been progressing at a natural rate--for a human.

Kept under constant monitor, Bella's health is his first concern. Though at first he had much the same reaction that Edward did--'get rid of it'--he's since changed his mind. Both Bella and the baby seem healthy and happy, and so far the only catch that Carlisle has come across is the need to keep Bella close by so that he can give her transfusions as needed. For you see, the myths were wrong. The baby does not make the mother crave blood, nor does it grow at an abnormal rate. It does however, get it's food supply right from it's mother's bloodstream.

Edward is still very unhappy with Bella's decision to keep the child, though even he is starting to turn around a bit in his opinion. Jake, as always, has hung around, worrying for Bella, snipping at Edward, and generally making a pain in the ass of himself. His packmates feel he is getting too close to the vampires and that he has lost his objectivity. He doesn't seem to care.

The rest of the Cullens, save for Rosalie, aren't sure what to make of it. They only wish for Edward and Bella to be happy and for Bella to remain safe. Rosalie however, has been a bit of a problem. On numerous occasions she has put the child's safety before that of Bella's. Though Bella did at first use her as a way to keep Carlisle and Edward from doing something foolish, now that she has Carlisle on her side, Rosalie has been nicely asked to find something else to do. Her lack of compassion and caring for Edward's mate is grating on even Carlisle's nerves. Jake and Rosalie aren't even allowed in the same room except on rare occasions, when the tension rises even further.
