General Witch Guide

Witch Skeleton: http://www.aradsociety.com/planner/?class=witch#050:uLe9PbuEbvMfuDbvSfuObxRdxOdyAfxSdxUnyBbxYbxXb

Witch class works like elementalists. There are 4 different "familiars", or elements. There are 3 tiers of each element.

Pluto: PvP/Melee
1st Tier: Death Dust and Manteu
2nd Tier: Fly Swatter
3rd Tier: Gravitas

Florae: Mob Destroyer
1st Tier: Enchanted Magic Missle
2nd Tier: Broom Spin
3rd Tier: Florae Collider

Jack-O'-Lanturn: AOE and Trapper
1st Tier: Jackyl/Shururu/Disenchant
2nd Tier: Lava Potion
3rd Tier: Burning Furnace

Jack Frost: ???
1st Tier: Freezing Dust
2nd Tier: Acid Rain
3rd Tier: Ice Car

Witches are a very gimicky class. They can AOE/Cast and play as a massive melee. Witch's Skills are percentage based. By that I mean there is a percentage of Failure, success, and a jackpot. Basically you're a big ass gambler, but you like it that way. Sleepers do immense affects and damages. My Gravitas failure does like 2k damage, success does around 8k, and sleeper success does around 12-16k. The "befriends" you choose will help up the rate of success and jackpots and lower the rate of failures.

Pluto skills are complete PvP skills. Flapper is definitely worth maxing though even for PvE. The damage is too good, and the summoners will be helpful. (Post mage patch will always summoner a helpful ally with every flapper kill. The summon monsters get stronger and buffed into Arrow Goblins and Tau warriors. No Hunterrrrrr) Max manteu will almost always blind your opponent. The blinding lasts a heck of a long time, and will give you a HUGE advantage.

Florae skills tend to be pve skills, EMM is the best mob killer. EMM is possibly the best PVE skill that isn't 3rd tier. Low MP usage but high damage out come. If you're going PvP, I recommend staying away from Florae. The only up it will give you is broomspin's damage and electrocution increase. Collider is almost unusable in PvP, amazing room clearer in PvE

Jack-O'-Lanturn skills tend to be AOE and trapper skills. Sleeper success lava potion is the biggest AOE move you have. The slow down effect and burn are nice too. In future patches, the Jackyl explosion range will be determined by Shururu level. Fire element will become more and more amazing. Furnace is gimicky, for now it gives you invincibility. You can use it to clear rooms, or kill someone in pvp. The skill is only as good as it's user.

Jack Frost skills are...Well....different. People can argue that it's PvP or it's PvE. The Freeze Dust is overall better than Death dust because it will let you recycle combos. But if you're not good at Sweeping, it will just make them fall to the ground and break your combo. Rain is amazing. A Sleeper rain can give you a win in PvP if the opponent gets caught in it. Rain is also a great AOE is PvE, since it gives a debuff. Ice car is amazing, end of story. Beast in PvP and PvE. People can run away from it easily in PvP, but once caught. ZZZZZZZZZZ GG

Other Skills

Elementalist Tree:
Lantern Fire Bomb: Not generally needed for the traditional Build. But since witch can stay air borne than any other class, Aerial Lanterns are made for us. If you consider getting this (not recommended for traditional builds) get the aerial lantern passive.

Florae Circle: Nope, no real purpose or point in getting. Our int isn't close to an elementalist's. No real point in getting this.

Frosty Head: I've seen a PvP Witch who maxed this. This skill sucks in PvE, don't even bother getting it if you're PvE focused. It can be used well if you're an AOE Cast type. You can use AOE to keep distance, and shoot out little stalking snowman heads to attack.

Pluto: Like all the other skills in the Elementalist Tree, this isn't needed. Add points in it if you REALLY REALLY like it

Magic Festival: This is a great skill. It reduces cooldowns and increases your cast speed. Perfect for cast type witches. But it costs you 100 sp just to unlock it. Not required, since witches deal most of their damage from melee anyways. But it's a nice add on

Elemental Burn: Go make an elementalist if you want this

Summoner Tree:
Summon Panzor Hordor: Oh I love Horder <3~ He used to beast everyone in pvp at low levels. Witches are pretty flexible with SP. Get 0, 1, 5, or max in this skill. Lvl.1 he gets regular hit and throw rock attacks. At lvl.5 he can spread rocks, at lvl.10 he throws a bomb. Not truly required since he dies way too easily. His damage in pve will begin to sink as you get into higher leveled dungeons.

Lasher: No, just no

Battle Mage Tree:
Weapon Uppercut: I love this skill, every mage should. Weapon Uppercut is one of the best approaches in the game. Use it to start air combos or cast combos. lvl.5 if you want to pvp, lvl.10 if you want to pvp seriously. Lvl.1 doesn't give enough launch to combo priests well

Cancel - Weapon Uppercut: No, we don't use ground xxxx.

Dragon Fang: Nice way to start combos. Magic dust adds range as well. At least get 1 for utility. You can choose to level is higher if you want the extra attack speed on it's start up.

Mana Shield: Max

Phase Shift: lvl.1 or Max. One of the best skills in the game. It poofs you away after you get hit, letting you sneak away from combos. lvl.1 -> MAx only has around 4 sec. cool down difference. But higher the level, less the after warp delay becomes. Plus the doll it leaves gives a nice stat boost that lasts for a long time.

Palm Blast: This skill is nice. It was super armor and knocks down enemies. You should get at least one into it.

General Tree:
Indomitable Spirit: This skill supposedly adds super armor whenever you're casting spells (the blue bar that appears over your head). No point in getting this for traditional builds. Since it's a max or don't get skill, and it would really only help you with like 4 spells.

Ancient Memory: I love this skill so much. It adds +150 int when maxed. Most of witch's skills deal Fixed damage, that means int affects it's damage. +150 int is a lot. I've seen it add 2.5k more to my gravitas and 2.5k more to flapper. It's niiiiice. But hey, you don't have to get it if you're lacking SP. Just a nice bonus

BackStep: Back step lets you do cool things like, back stepping. Besides that, you can back step to cast flapper way faster and it hit enemies that are on the ground. Back step lets you air dash quickly. When you use back step air dash, you can't use xxx, but you can use Flapper and Broomspin. It's a nice skill to get, but not completely needed. More PvP

Quick Rebound: Yes, nuff said. (Hold C down to get more invincibility frames)

Leap: This skill is tricky. If you have Aerial Lantern, this buff lets you fire 4 bombs along with air scrub. This buff can also let you out of tight spots. 0 or 1. More SP isn't really needed. This skill itself isn't really needed either.

Others: Don't get them

Cloth vs Leather
What to wear, what to wear, hmmm. You get the choice between Cloth and Leather.

Cloth adds max MP, MP recovery rate, Casting Speed and Intelligence.

Leather adds Magical Critical Hit Rate, Magical Attack, Attack Speed, and Intelligence.

The ones in bold are the only truly debatable parts. When you wear full leather, you lose out on some 60% cast speed, and thats a lot. When you wear cloth you lose out of a lot of extra defense, m.crit. and 8% Attack speed.

Right now Cloth is better overall, since there are sets that add Magic Critical and attack speed. Plus 60% cast speed is more than 8% aspd in loss. But Leather is terrific for those melee types, since it adds def, weight, and attack speed.

So basically it's all choice.

Witch Patch
This has been taken from here Originally posted by Kitaek27 based on experiences and patches that came through kDnF and Arad Senki

saccharin

Evidently the rain debuff stacks up to three times while they're getting hit by rain.
