Try brasing rods ( used for welding) easy to bend, paintable and right thickness |

use some thin copper wire or steel wire (even solder wire but its soft) to make a frame, maccy d's coffee stirrers for slats? just an idea never made one myself |

trail and error i suppose really need some thin wire of some sort like pete said and any kind of wood coffee or lolly sticks that sort of thing
