Im just wondering how you guys remove the paint from a model. I brushe nitromors onto the last model i did and that got it off, but im doing a mk2 now and its not getting the paint off in around the engine bay. Do you put the whole model into a container of it or use something else entirely.

Also what do you use to remove paint from a plastic model without it melting like the guy from robocop?

For models I normally put it in a container an poor nitromors over it

Plastics, acetone free nail varnish remover

Hey mate I always use nitromors? If the first lot hasn't got it off I'd just keep putting more and more on? Always works for me!!

As for the plastic use acitone free nail varnish remover as that will get the paint off but not melt the model

Nitromore's is crap now, B&Q's own stuff is cheaper and better.
Bread baking trays make good baths, leave in over night job done.

Has anyone ever used brake fluid to strip it. Ive heard you can use it to strip both metal and plastic kits

If you've got a B&Q close by, get their own Paint and Varnish remover. It comes in a white bottle and is about £6.50.
It'll take all the paint off any part of the model mate. I don't use anything else

Thanks guys

Just one last question. Can the B&Q stuff be left open to the air, or does it need to be have a cover over it

Not sure, I put clingfilm over it just to keep dust out, as I had it in the work shop.
