dave ford (ford rs mad) got an invite from ford to celebrate the 100th year of ford in britain via the classic car club he is a member of .
the event organisers wanted 100 classic fords to take part in a parade of the test track and it didnt dissapoint!
dave was kind enough to invite me along for the day and i jumped at the chance
the event was held at the dunton ford research facilty just outside of basildon essex
this has always been a place i wanted to visit but is rarely open to the public
must say it was an awesome day out and the turn out of classic fords was class
the day was packed full of things to do including a test drive around the test track in various cars , the chance of doing a hot lap in a caterham super seven , which both myself and dave had!
will start to upload my pictures from the day asap
dean boy has some he has found on various club sites i will ask him to upload too

most amazing thing was fordy's fezza was the only mk1 fiesta in the line up on the day, people were gasping as we drove round in it .
we did find one in the heritage display inside b building but tbh it was not as clean as dave's AND had more millage on the clock!

parked up in the holding area , this was littered with ford transit vans that had been used in crash tests , many of which if not all were brand new.

meeting place before entry to dunton was the halfway house
was like we had travelled back through time when me and fordy got there.....lol
the drive from the half way house to the gates of dunton was unreal , had most of the traffic on the a127 passing with open mouths

I supose that most people only thought to save the 'RS's' whilst the everyday models were run into the ground.
