Masking tape and paint drying.; how long to let paint dry

I'm thinking of a paint job and have some tamiya masking tape as recommended here. My main concern is how long to let paint dry before removing masking tape?

The last time I used it, I pulled the tape off as soon as I had finished painting.
This ment the One leak I had was still wet and came strate off with a tooth pick.

That was with the Tamiya tape and Tamiya Acrylic paint, I was painting the bumpers.

you should buy a thing called fine line! its like insulating tape then use your making tape, stops a big thick edge on the wet paint! and its a lot easier to remove it aslong as you pull the tape in the direction of the wet paint!

Have to admit I've not used humbrol or revell since I was a kid.
Only use Tamiya as it was on sale and and stuck with it.

What about halfords car paints? Would they be good enough for diecast metals?

Halfords spray cars are my first choice, Primer Colour and Clear. :king:
I have used others but the Halfords Ones work best for me.
