Interesting reading, Grinder. However, I see a problem. The “preparedness advice” in these sites seems to make the assumption that the gov’t will step in and, in a very short time, restore order, services, and a return to life as we know it. I am not so convinced. But, just to be sure, I will be sure to check with OSHA to make certain I am not violating any laws or codes before I do anything and I will diligently and honestly fill out the 400 page application and patiently wait for FEMA to help me. (YOU KNOW I’M KIDDING, RIGHT?!?!) I think our best bet still remains to be doing what we’re already doing – quietly and resolutely preparing ourselves to take care of ourselves. The old saying, “If you want it done right, do it yourself.” clearly applies here!

keeping in mind that they are government sites, is it hard to beleive at all that they want you to rely on them fro everything?

as we all know the government will come to our rescue and make everything better.............. right after they get their own issues figured out.

i posted those links because this is the .gov links section. i really like how most of their recommendations for getting prepared are woefully inadequate.

just think about how many people use that information for their planning.
