Started my diet last week, lost 7 pounds. All together the four of us lost 23. I started getting the extra energy boost to so I am feeling better already. I want to get to 175 for the spring hike. |

7 lbs in a week is actually a lot of weight...(think of 7 one-pound packages of butter or hamburger). I'm not a doctor, but 7 lbs in a week might be a bit too drastic...shooting for 2-3 might be better healthwise... Nonetheless, congrats, it must feel great having a lighter load...I was at a point once where I had to lose weight, and i could definitely tell the difference in just my ability to movee around... |

If you have a lot to lose and are just starting a diet, 7 lbs in one week lost may be a lot of water weight and not unhealthy. If you continue to lose 7 lbs each weak or more than 2 to 3 pounds (1.5 to 2 lbs being the healthiest rate of loss) then you might be losing muscle in addition to fat and becoming actually weaker, although lighter and prone to putting it back on being worse off than you started. Good to hear this though, sounds like everyone is making a good effort. |

That's pretty awesome progress. Congrats. Also, since you mention it, I have been smoke free since September 15th. |

I am fatter than a white woodtick. I've been neglecting my fitness level for to long. I started hitting the gym last week and am really paying for it, but i am getting back on track. Good job Bender. |

The class has been very fun so far! Today I do ache everywhere as expected, but it is my fault for not stretching afterward and not eating a banana. If I had done that, I would feel much better today. |

I've been doing cardio everyday for the last two weeks and weight lifting about 4 times a week. It's feeling good! |

After my Dad passed away in the spring I had a tough time and let myself go. I packed on a lot of weight but am planning on shedding those pounds as soon as I can. Very good job on the 3.2 miles Nailbender! |

Congrats! I just signed up for weight watchers and it is helping. I need to work out some though...I think that I will just do the videos as there really isn't a class nearby that I can go to. They are all at night. |

I'll probably get slammed hard for this, but before anybody gets too hard on themselves, I'd like to point out that a person that carries a few extra pounds stands a greater chance of survival than someone that is bone-thin to begin with. I think the most important thing is to get your physical strength and endurance built up. Just trying to interject some happy thoughts into the discussion.... :) |

I am never gonna be rail thin again. lol Being is shape is my goal and I am trying to not hold myself up from doing FTX's because Im to out of shape to carry my gear. I just dont ever want to be a burden on anyone because I was not prepared. |

Survival fitness is my goal. Rough and tough, don't want someone to look at me as an easy or soft target. |

I am just trying to get a group together to get gym memberships. I'm in mediocre shape, but would like to have that "healthy" feeling back that you have when in optimal shape. My town just got a gym, so no more excuses. Gonna convert my weekly bartab into membership and equipment, and slow down on the booze... |
