The Fight Network

Nick Diaz lived up to his prefight smack talking as he turned in the biggest performance of his MMA career Saturday night completely overwhelming 36-year-old MMA pioneer Frank Shamrock en route to a second-round TKO win in the Strikeforce main event in San Jose, Calif.

Diaz, 25, utilized exceptionally quick hand speed to pick Shamrock apart, relying primarily on his unerring jab. In the second round, Diaz had Shamrock backed up against the cage while he unleashed a cavalcade of blows to the body and head. A shot to the body ended up finishing the Pancrase veteran, who subsequently dropped to the mat unable to defend the fast-paced onslaught. Diaz followed suit with a violent flurry of strikes. Referee "Big" John McCarthy called a stop to the fight moments later.

The Shamrocks are nothing but flashy names to have on fight cards now-a-days. I respect what both have done in their career...but getting tired of watching them try to take on talent that they would have a hard time beating 10 years ago.
