Grade 9 Up-"Yeah, I loved her. I couldn't help it. She was my brother." Regan has always been there for her transgender brother, Liam, sacrificing her needs for his, but when he announces that he is ready to "transition" into Luna permanently, Regan is not sure she can handle the consequences. She has been his confidant all her life, letting Luna dress in her room, buying underwear for her when Liam couldn't, and giving support. However, when the attractive new guy in chemistry class shows an interest in Regan, she wishes her sibling would just go away and give her a chance to live her own life. Liam realizes that in order for his sister to be free, he, too, must free himself to become the woman who lives inside him. Told from Regan's point of view in the present and in flashback, this novel breaks new ground in YA literature with a sensitive and poignant portrayal of a young man's determination to live his true identity and his family's struggle to accept Luna for who she really is.

It's written kind of corny, but it's pretty accurate...

Read it yesterday. <3 it. I'll buy it when I can, but it's not exactly something I can just go to a book store and buy... It's written for 8-9th grade and up, so it's kind of kid-corny, but it's still really nice.

I have a pdf if anyone wants to read it.

I wanna read it. :D

Know where I could find the book? Because in english we have this thing called a "Fishbowl" (AKA book talk) and this sounds like it fits the criteria perfectly. If you know where I could find it, then I'll wait until then to read it. :P

(I'm assuming this is a character driven book, correct? Because that's what we need. It can't be plot driven, and it can't be a movie (and it can't be Twilight, my teacher made it forbidden to read Twilight, even before it was a movie. XD))

You could buy it on Amazon, or ask a bookstore to order it for you if they don't have it in stock. They normally do it for free.

I have a PDF if you want it. I'm adding it to my list of stuff to get. XD;

I'll DL the PDF. Thankies!

And I was searching a bit today, Amazon had the best price (though I think it was american. Either way, the book's less than ten bucks. :P). I'll read through a bit of the PDF to see if I should wait or not. XD

EDIT: Skimmed through it. I see what you mean with the writing, but it is realistic. Nice find, I'll be sure to find it before second semester. XD

(Best part of what I read was the mention of Love Hina. LUNA'S AN OTAKU! XD)

So it turns out Spazzy-Tack actually owns the book, and she read it, and she says it's one of the best things she's ever read. :P So I'll wait until second semester and borrow the book from her. :3

I want to read it but I am horrible about reading books online...

A bit too afraid to go to a bookstore and pick it up too...
