ANN page with the Blood trailer

Quote:

From a Producer of Hero and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon comes BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE, based on the cult hit anime series. Demons have infested the Earth. And only one warrior stands between the dark and the light: Saya, a half-human, half-vampire samurai who preys on those who feast on human blood. Joining forces with the shadowy society known as the Council, Saya is dispatched to an American military base, where an intense series of swordfights leads her to the deadliest vampire of all. And now after 400 years, Saya's greatest hunt is about to begin.

YOU DO NOT FUCK WITH THE BLOOD SERIES' TERMINOLOGY! D<

IT ISN'T "THE COUNCIL", IT'S "RED SHIELD".

THEY AREN'T VAMPIRES, THEY'RE CHIROPTERANS! THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!

SAYA IS NOT A 400 YEAR OLD HALF VAMPIRE, SHE'S A 100 - 200 YEAR OLD HALF CHIROPTERAN.

It might be a great movie, but you don't fuck with the terminology. IT CHANGES THE WHOLE THING.

You shouldn't duck with the terms either. Saya's a chiropteran queen, not some insignificant little chiropteran that could be taken care of in a few seconds.

Diva... I wonder if they're actually gonna stick to the storyline. Which reminds me that I need to watch the movie. Gwen, you know where it is online? The anime movie I mean.

Diva isn't in the original. There's no such thing as a chiropteran queen in this version, either.

Saya is a half chiropteran who was born through interbreeding Chiropteran with Humans. A Chiropteran is nothing mystic; it's a tree dwelling, hematophagous ape that evolved different from humans, and is more batlike.

This is Blood, not Blood+. Both of which are epicly awesome, but Blood+ is an alt. universe version.

Get on MSN and I'll send you the movie.

Can you mediafire it? Sending things to me via MSN doesn't work, Queen can attest to that.

Couldn't you just download it via torrent? It's so much simpler and unlike a direct download, it won't kill the entire thing if then torrent client crashes.

Torrents also take longer, because the seeds and leechers. Direct download is a guaranteed download. If you have a stable install of a browser, you have nothing to worry about.

I was gonna send you a link, Ares.

Well, I am on MSN, it's just that I thought you were gonna use MSN messenger to send me the file, and since it didn't work when Queen tried to send me LM.C songs, since I use meebo and not the actual MSN messenger, I thought that's what you were gonna do and I was saying that it wouldn't work.

Wow... I rambled.

Torrents download all dependents on the connection. Besides, when searching for a torrent, you just need to find one with the most seeders that will give you the best chance of a fast download. Usually, a 1 gig video can be downloaded within 3 hours at 50 kb per second. A torrent client runs in the background and should it crashes, you can always reboot it up, it then automatically check the downloaded files, and resume download. Now if you were to use such direct downloaders like Mozilla built in downloader or MSN, should it crash or your connection crash, you would have to start all over. I have that happened to me many times, downloaded a 700 megabytes video, 90 percent done, browser crashed, had to restart all over again. Course, direct download is always preferred if you're talking about small files like 100 megabytes or less. For really large files like movies, it's best to go with torrents.

I really doubt this movie would be good. Don't have nearly as much publicity as Transformer did, actors don't look like their anime counterparts.

Jesus, why can't Hollywood directors learn to CHOOSE the anime to adapt? Wtf? Not every anime was made for a live-action movie. Some anime, like Gundam, NGE, Code Geass, Ghost in a Shell, or Robotech, can be made into a blockbuster movie and actually make money too because they can be adapted to what Hollywood does best; make mind-blowing CGIs and really fast-paced, high octane fight scenes. Other anime like Bood, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Bleach, etc, are more character and story drivened and coming up with a good movie adaptation with a fitting storyline that remains relatively true to the source would be difficult.

Actually, Blood could easily be done live action. The only problem is the fucking directors taking their fucking liberties with the storylines...

To be fair, the movie's only about 45 minutes long anyway. Thy kinda have to add a bit to make it a decent length movie.

You said that it was in english, but there was jap in the anime one. I would have given up if I hadn't taken spanish last year, and hadn't understood a bit of the jap.

But yeah, to the live action one. They stand the possibility of doing a good job if they kinda cross the action and horror genres of film.

XD;

THE MAJORITY of the original Blood film was in english. It was meant to be believable from a language barrier standpoint.

As for the length, just extend a few scenes, or add small, minor scenes in. and isn't Genre crossing always a good idea? As long as you follow the fricking story, it would be a great selling blockbuster. D<

Well, maybe make certain scenes brighter... But it has promise. Saya should talk more though, not just be an unapproachable figure.
