Huang Long [planet]Athens[/planet] Capital: Lacedaemon Moons: Ahnooie, Argabuthon, Ormuzd, Whitefall Cortex:Should have just named the place the windy planet, it certainly has enough of it. And mood swings like no other! You've never seen weather change it's mind so quickly and completely as it does on Athens. Despite this, certain crops do well here given the right attention and some luck with the weather. Athens was one of the only rim worlds to support unification, and what did it get for it's trouble? Mostly blown to bits, with it's cities now resting in heaps, unlivable and still dead to this day. [blockquote][planet]Ahnooie[/planet] Capital: Hampline Cortex: The first moon of Athens, known for it's long and irregular nights due to the strange eclipse patterns of the planets and moons around it. Howler's hours of light and dark are almost entirely unpredictable without an astronomy chart present. [planet]Argabuthon[/planet] Capital: Prak Cortex: A planet known for it's factories and cities, and often considered "technologically advanced", at least in terms of border worlds. Wouldn't be so bad to be known like this, only Argabuthon has developed a more prominent reputation for it's justice system, which is harsh and swift, often involving being thrown into solitary confinement in a local mental facility for even the smallest misdeed. [planet]Ormuzd[/planet] Capital: Sopono Cortex: There isn't anything exactly ugly about Ormuzd, but chances are you won't be visiting it any time soon. See, the atmosphere came charged and ready after terraforming, and you never quite know what that's going to breed. In this case, a particularly bad virus seems to thrive there, and though the planet was never officially quarantined by the alliance, you don't get many ships eager to land their and risk catching the Angra Virius, or A.V. Symptoms may include itching, sweating, lack of appetite, dehydration, hair lose, and eventually progress towards hallucinations and insanity. [planet]Whitefall[/planet] Capital: Southton Cortex: Just a good old copy of the old, old west. That's Whitefall alright, a place a man has to work hard to make his living - on a farm, ranch, or in one of the little towns that dots the prairies. The law of the gun (and a hard old woman named Patience) is pretty much the only one left in such a place, but the folks at Whitefall generally are pretty good at sticking together. Don't take much to outsiders, though. Got no need for them unless they have something worth taking.[/blockquote] |

[planet]Boros[/planet] Capital: Ester Moons: Ares, Turrent's Moon Cortex: A mostly decent planet, that can be said of it. The sort of place you can find a job at almost anything. The country side has plenty of farms and ranches, small towns just like you'll find all over the border worlds. The cities, though not as large as the industrialized Beaumonde, have a few factories and the likes and just large enough that those driven insane by the slowness of the country can settle in. They make a good living off of scrap metal, too, with the alliance selling or simply throwing away anything that doesn't come up to scratch. Of course, some of the geniuses down in Boros can do wonders with a little metal, no matter how lousy the alliance judged it to be. [gas]Daedalus[/gas] Moons: Arvad's Helm, Box, Notterdamn, Rea Cortex: Gas Giant. [blockquote][planet]Arvad's Helm[/planet] Capital: --- Cortex: --- [planet]Box[/planet] Capital: --- Cortex: --- [planet]Notterdamn[/planet] Capital: --- Cortex: --- [planet]Rea[/planet] Capital: Keshkin Cortex: Each terraformed world has its own particular quirks, due to the original geochemistry of the rock. Leeched from the soil and bedrock of Rea was an unforeseen and as of yet unclassified mineral ore, harmless for the most part but toxic in strong concentrations. The terraforming event forced a large quantity of this buried ore into the water supply, unnoticed at first due to it's negligible concentrations.. but, like other heavy metal poisonings, concentrations of the toxin built up in individuals over time and began effecting the townfolk that have been consistently ingesting it. 'Mira's Sorrow' was born, an illness that predominantly afflicts the brain, an 'occular congestion' that causes a degenerative blindness (as well as other mental ailments).[/blockquote] |

[planet]Ezra[/planet] Capital: Camelot Moon: Herschel Cortex: I'm going to assume you're a bit of an idiot, so I'm going to give you this advice very slowly. Don't. Go. There. whatever it is you think is waiting for you on Ezra, it ain't worth it. Everyone knows this moon was taken over by Niska years back and since then... Well, it's worse than it had been before and if you knew how it was before... Crime abounds at this place, and a crime with a sick, twisted since of morals. Those poor souls still stuck on planet, most of them are too scared to even find away off. So why go and put yourself where no one wants to be? [planet]Ithica[/planet] Capital: Ioan Cortex: Ithica and her sister planet/moon Priam are actually pretty decent places, at least compared to most of the Georgia system. At least Ithica has some beautiful oceans, a rarity when compared to neighboring Ezra. unfortunately, she also has rain nearly year round, drowning out almost any attempts at growing crops, and for some reason fish never took to her the way they have other water based worlds, and so she does not even get that advantage. Still, when the sun comes out and the clouds pull back, she is a sight to see. |

[planet]Kerry[/planet] Capital: Sakamoto Cortex: When a solider needs a break, he gets himself to a saloon or even a small casino on Kerry, it's just a well known fact. Kerry isn't big enough to garner much in the way of attention outside of the Boros system, but with-in it, she's made quite a name for herself. Though not entirely a good one. Even with the fed influence, the law of the gun seems to hold strong in Kerry, with the townships much preferring to rule over themselves. It's caused quite a few fights with the local feds, though that hardly stops soldiers from coming back on their next leave. |

[planet]Newhope[/planet] Capital: Clayborn Moons: Godforsaken, Splendor, The Commons Cortex: One of the border worlds that manages to do okay for itself. Of course, a lot of that comes from their desire to keep out everyone who might mess it up. They've got a nice little planet, and they don't like when strangers land on it and try and take what God has given them. Anyone looking to set down in Newhope best have gone through the proper channels, or they're going to discover that this place isn't as friendly as it looks. [blockquote][dead]Godforsaken[/dead] Cortex: Unterraformed/Uninhabitable. [planet]Splendor[/planet] Capital: --- Cortex: --- [planet]The Commons[/planet] Capital: None Cortex: Another small farming community planet, The Commons consist of little groups and villages separated by miles and miles of open planes. She's a good planet to get your family to if you have no where else to turn, but not much interest to traders and the likes. She's grow things, but it's too hard in most places to bother with industrialized farming, so not even the alliance is that interested in her. There are no real cities on The Commons, just loosely connected communities spread out over the world.[/blockquote] |

[planet]Priam[/planet] Capital: Salgo Cortex: Sister planet to Ithica, Priam has all the rain and non of the beauty. Her landscape is mostly mud and rock falling apart under the constant harsh winds and storms. Very few people venture out here, and those that do are usually trying to make some sort of escape. After all, no one really even wants to look for you on Priam. |

[planet]Regina[/planet] Capital: Jacaba Moons: Alexandria Cortex: Mining and Military, that's all you're like to find on Regina. The whole moon is all but owned by the Corone Mining Consortium although a few independent mining companies are struggling to keep up their own. Hard with the price of medicine what it is now a days, and you'll need that medicine. Can't have workers with Bowden's, you won't get any work down. What part of the planet isn't being emptied out is used for military training and a base by the alliance. The Corone Mining Consortium figures it's nice to have them about, helps keep fearful people in their place even if those newly trained soldiers hardly do a damn thing. [blockquote][planet]Alexandria[/planet] Capital: Socrates Cortex: There is this rumor going about that everyone on the border is an uneducated fool. Now, it may be true that over all the border isn't as highly educated as those in the core, but it isn't true for every world. Alexandria is actually known for having one of the finest schools, and by far the finest on the border. It's also home of the only library made up of an Earth-That-Was privately owned book collection in the 'verse, which has attracted it plenty of attention, and not just from scholars. [/blockquote] |

Murphey [planet]Aphrodite[/planet] Capital: Masan Moons: Anton, Hill, Sturges, Thornley Cortex: Before the war, Aphrodite really hadn't been such a bad place. Kind of a smaller Shadow, that's what plenty of folks said about her. Only during the bombing of Shadow, when people were fleeing for their lives, it turned out that Aphrodite was just too small. The over population strained her already fragile economy and it just crashed. She got too full of people for her own good, broken down cities spread most all over here, and she hasn't recovered, like her mother planet only instead of ghost living on her, she's got real and breathing people waiting for a miracle. [blockquote]Anton[/title][/size] Capital: Callipsa Cortex: Most planets look as much like Earth-That-Was as they could manage. Anton does not. Although the name might bring to mind long planes of green, green grass, the truth is that something about Anton has always been alien. The ground there is mostly made of a hard, white stone and sand that gives the entire world a strange look, even from up in space. It has made it popular with mining production, but it means that most vegetation just hasn't taken up root there. [planet]Hera[/planet] Capital: Coplene Moons: Bullet, Eris Cortex: Hera is near the perfect place to own some land, put together a farm. Many a corporation have gone and done just that, in fact, making Hera the breadbasket of the core and most border worlds. Midway between the core and border shipping lanes, you can see why the battle of Serenity was so important. Course no amount of importance can bring back all the lives lost on this place, the grave yard sweeping for miles and miles - most tomb stones still blank with no way to identify the soldiers after what this battle did to them. [quarantined]Shadow[/quarantined] Capital: None Moons: Branson's Mark, Summerfair, Ussolambira Cortex: Back in the war, Shadow got bombed pretty hard. Hard enough that it's a ghost rock now, no more livable than a gas planet. Just a blackened rock, nothing more to see here.
