What a fucking week. Hunter tossed the contents of the pan skyward for a flash, mixing the stir fry about so half wouldn't charbroil while the rest remained raw. Selecting from the dwindling spices on the rack he chose a dash of garlic, red pepper and a little curry. His nose scrunched at the look of the greyish mush. When you broke into the last dregs of supplies you always had a few unfortunate meals set out. Nutrient packed grey-stuffs wasn't designed to keep you from gagging; that was the cook's job. Pity they could never hold one for more than a single tour in the black.

The dark grey and bleach stained tank top was the cleanest thing he owned for the moment and in all honesty should be classified as anything but. Brushing a hand clean over the leg of his jeans the mechanic reached for a fork to taste. Definitely needed more garlic. And more of a lot of other things too. He shook his head, changing his focus to the pot of rice that had just finished cooking and doling it out in portions. The table was near fully set with 14 places laid out, 3 of a smaller size for the younger members. "We really need a gorram cook with all these mouths..." He muttered to himself taking the pan from the burner and heading over to the comm. His right fist connected him ship wide. "A'right, dinners out. You all git four minutes before its cold and I'll offer your portions off as second helpings!"

Stir-fry dumped into a large bowl and Hunter's duty was done for the night. Luckily his room opened right off the galley so he didn't have to head far to wake up his sleeping daughter. "Come on Qíngrén. Dinner time." He scooped the groggy blonde up onto his hip, smoothing her tangled mess of bangs back as he returned to the table to perch her a top a stack of books in a seat beside his. It had only been two days since their trek to serenity valley and things had only just begun to settle down. Hunter was far from over the trauma of his daughter being stolen away. His heart frequently came to a screeching stop if he couldn't find her immediately. And that didn't even begin to touch on the sudden presence of a certain tall thin emotionless woman he had long since believed to be a pile of bones beneath the ground. Hunter was still all for Fi launching her out the air-vent... but that might have Rosie traumatized for life. Besides an alliance agent was too good of an asset to just flat out murder.

Maybe it was better for him to just take Rosie and book it headlong off this ship. Cressida was supposed to be a safe place for them to settle in for once; it had proven to be anything but what was expected.

Without a word, or barely a sound from her most sensible of shoes, Coralyn entered the galley, barely two minutes after Hunter’s announcement. She took her usual seat in the corner, stared down at the plate, then began scooping tiny portions onto her fork without so much as a blink. Normally ever watchful and alert, when Cora was thinking about something, REALLY thinking about something, her tendency was to clam up entirely, shutting off the part of her brain reserved for polite or lengthy conversation. So much was she on auto-pilot that if you weren’t particularly observant she might have been missed entirely. She didn’t mind. Besides, after their disastrous debacle on the Bǐng Quān and it’s resulting chaos, she was convinced she still didn’t look quite like her old self anyway. No matter how many times she combed her hair, it seemed to dishevel more than usual and the dark circles around worried eyes seemed more prominent than they’d ever been. Raising her gaze slightly, she suddenly caught a glimpse of Rosalee’s tiny, sleepy face, and a pang of pure hurt seemed to penetrate Coralyn’s unhappy shell. She didn’t say anything. But it helped to intensify the thought process.

How? How can I get out of this? was the question constantly circling her mind. Every single instinct she had acquired over the years was telling her that this was a bad place to be. She feared for herself, she feared for those around her. Even the ones she didn’t like. And that was another thing, when you were rammed together constantly with people who seemed to sap slowly at your morale, how long would it be before you broke entirely? Cora had never been cheerful. Now she was positively depressed. Not just depressed, but over the last few weeks she’d been un-cooperative, aggressive and rude in a way that she knew she’d have been appalled at a mere year before. Right now she was a robot at an event that had once been boisterous and informal. Something had to give, something had to change. And clueless as she was, she knew that a prisoner wasn’t the answer. An involuntary shudder suddenly shook the young doctor at the thought of their silent captive. She didn’t think she could even begin to voice an opinion on that front. Where in the ‘verse would she start?!

Chewing the food her customary 18 times, Cora swallowed, dabbing at her mouth with her handkerchief. It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t particularly good. It was fine. Neutral food. It was a relief to have something a little neutral around the ship, even if it had come from Hunter. Hunter. She glanced up again, but didn’t have the energy to invest in some hateful thoughts. She was really quite, quite worn out.

The sounds of a young child's giggles echoed through the hallway coming from the upper crew quarters towards the rear of the ship along with the sounds of bare feet padding along in a slow little run. Cassidy was adjusting well to the ship, quicker than Gwen would have thought, especially after being stuck on the Alliance craft for as long as she had. It had been more of a surprise to the older woman that the children had been treated fine on the ship and that Jon had... done nothing to them. Listening to Cassidy as she talked about her time there and even how the man she now knew as her Uncle had actually been pleasant startled Gwen more than anything. That wasn't like the man she had known for the last seven almost eight years. Something fishy was going on with that, but Gwen didn't have the time to investigate.

It didn't take long for the little blue eye, brown haired girl to burst in to the galley making a few laps around the table before Gwen managed to catch up with her. How the child had that much energy was well beyond her range of thought. While the MacKenzie kids had been active, this was more than anything she had been expecting. "Goodness, Cass! You got a set of batteries hidden on you or somethin'? You been runnin' round this ship all day long!" But that didn't stop the girl from giggling and continuing around the table till her mother was able to catch the seven-year-old up in a hug when she passed by the door. With a grin the red head glanced up between the few that had gathered already. "Cora, Hunter. You mind if my little monkey here sits beside your sprout, Williams? I'd be afraid what would happen if they sat across from each other."

Fi heard Hunters call and immediately shoved her toolbox aside, getting to her feet and heading upstairs. She'd pulled another all-nighter, refusing to beleive that the purple bellies hadn't left any bugs until she'd personally checked every square inch of Cressida. She wiped her hands on her jeans as she walked into the Galley, smirking a bit when she heard Gwen talk about the girls sitting across from each other. "Food fight,"

The petite blond cracked her neck and stretched her arms high as she wandered over to the sink to scrub her hands and wrists. When she didn't sleep she always seemed to be starving, today was no exception. It was why she'd put aside the work and come up to join the rest of them. Fi dried her hands on the towel and let her eyes wander from sleepy Rosie to stressed out Hunter. Speaking of ... nope, no skeletal redheads present.

She wasn't sure what to think about that person being on their ship, but she did know she was firmly on the side of Hunter. Of course, the things Ms. Lucas knows and can do is a bit exciting, at least in terms of what they could use her for. She basically had clearance to everything. She's the Black Widow for craps sake. Fi gave a soft tired sigh and shifted her mind elsewhere. Exhaustion left her overly inquisitive mind capable of only concentrating on one or two things at once.

"Thanks for dinner Hunter." She told him before digging in, shoveling food quickly without bothering to even taste it.

For once when the call for dinner came, Tom was in his room and not on the bridge. He was laying on his bed, one leg dangling over and swaying back and forth. He was restless. He really was. After the bust that the Bǐng Quān mission was and how badly it ended, they all probably deserved a break, but that would never come. There was never a break on this ship and if he really wanted one, leaving was one of the few options. He would never opt to that. This place was his home, but a break once in a while, where nothing went wrong, well, he thought it would have been nice.

He closed the book his was reading and laid it on his bed, pushing himself off of it with his good arm. He briefly glanced at his injured wrist, wondering when the damn cast would come off and he could move it freely once again. In the back of his mind, he knew he would have to work up to that point. The wrist would be weaker than the other, but it itched and he really wasn't thinking about that part.

By the time he reached the galley, there was a good amount of people sitting there and the pilot smirked slightly as he plopped down in an empty seat. "Are we ever goin' to get around to hiring an actual cook?" It wasn't that he wasn't grateful that Hunter made the food, but it would be nice to eat something that he wasn't afraid would come back to haunt him later on.

Tessa had been sitting at the edge of the bed she was given for the last ... she didn't even know how long. It was easier to sit ramrod straight and stare at nothing than have the few people on the ship follow her and snatch her daughter out of reach. She hadn't thought it would hurt to know that others thought she would hurt her daughter. She would never. Not intentionally, that was why she had taken Rosalee off of that ship to begin with.

She pondered skipping the meal, but it was better to keep up her strength in case the Alliance came after her. Them. Whichever, the person they chased did not matter. Tessa took a deep breath, standing to look in the small mirror that was in her small room. She picked up her comb and quickly but carefully combed her hair back into a smooth sleek ponytail.

She'd had the foresight to pack a bag and bring it during her escape with her daughter. She had clothes that actually fit, a nice thing when stuck with a group of people who didn't like her or even want her there. Her clothes were her armor, they had been for a very long time. Twitching her soft silvery shirt into place she stood and left the room, her booted feet making very little noise.

The redhead entered the galley and took in everything in an instant. The happy captain looking fondly at her child, the pilot and the blond sitting beside each other eating, Hunter sitting beside Rosalee, the two children confiding to each other in whispers. She quietly took an empty seat away from the others. She couldn't sit next to her child so she wouldn't sit by anyone. It was less immature and more practical, for her health anyway.

"I could cook," She offered after mulling over the pilots words for a moment. She was a pretty good cook, as Hunter may or may not remember. She was good with spices and flavors, she had to be in her line of work. A snort from the blond drew her cool calm eyes.

"We'll put that on the list of things not likely to happen. Not with your ... specialties," The blond woman's dark blue eyes glared at her and her voice was hostile. Tessa was used to that. Seraphina Grant was not a fan of hers and likely would never become one. She made no secret of her ire either, others didn't seem to notice the attitude which made Tessa draw the conclusion that she was likely caustic to everyone.

The fact that the blond woman had implied that Tessa was most well known for poison was interesting. She'd used blades and guns as well, in fact most of her more notorious executions had been due to guns. Not poison. It was intriguing and worrying at the same time.

"When we find one with skin tough enough to put up with our group, Tom." Gwen was a lot more calmer with her daughter on board and Drew on a fast road to recovery. It was calmer than most had probably ever seen her before even when she first signed on to the ship. Making a soft tsking sound she turned to Cassidy reaching out and trying to fix one of the braided pigtails she hadn't time to fix before the child had run off. "But we won't have to worry about that for a bit. Maybe someone will sign on when we get t-"

Cassidy craned her head around from where she had been taking to the sleepy Rosie grinning wide up at her. "Can we have a food fight, Mom?" The look that crossed Gwen's face as she gave the pig tail a playful little tug made the little girl break in to another fit of giggles before she caught sight of the other red head make her way in to the galley. Cassidy was quick to fall silent and turn straight to her plate. While her interactions with Tessa had been very few, the woman still unsettled her. It was when the woman had spoken up about cooking for them, and Fi's quick reply, that Gwen spoke up. The woman was Alliance to the core, but something about her had made her leave with Rosie. Spy or a mother's love- it was hard telling which it was that brought the Black Widow to the ship. Gwen hoped for all hopes it was a mother's love more than the first. Her crew couldn't take another hit like that. For now, though, the woman was a 'guest' on the ship. "While we appreciate the offer I think we can handle it. We'll resupply here in a few more days so we won't have to snack on protein for long."

None of them were professional cooks. What little the few who did cook knew was from trench work or what they had picked up on their various trips. Having fresh food again would be welcomed after their hasty trip to Hera to get the wayward children back... and for Gwen to get the nasty message from her brother. "I hope that your quarters are suitable? We're not a fancy ship and passengers aren't our first line of business within the Company."

It had been a long road since their run in with the Alliance, and picking up their new guest. Rora had kept herself busy making her temporary repairs more permanent, and it was an added plus that let her escape the chaos on the rest of the ship.

But there were times when food was necessary, and now was one of those moments. Rora sat back on her heels, swiping her loose hair out of her face with one hand, only thinking about it a moment later and wiping her hands on her jeans. Nibbling on her bottom lip, Rora stood, slipping her feet into her flipflops. She was making busy work to avoid the general public that had become the Cressida. She just didn't feel at home anymore, and things were so tense in general that she didn't know how to fix it.

Taking a breath, Rora sighed as she made her way out of the engine room and up to the galley. They were gathered, and things had grown silent, she noted as she took her seat, raising her eyebrows to Fi as if to question what she'd missed. "Mmm, good meal looks shiny."

Yawning wide the child's blue eyes watered and the back of balled fists came up to scrub at them. Those long stressful few days in the clutches of the Alliance and the bullet filled escape back home had wiped the energy from the generally ever excitable tiny blonde. Her head rested on her father's broad shoulder until he placed her down in the chair. A slight pout formed on her face, wanting just to hold her arms up to be carried again. She'd been comfortable! Still, daddy had just spooned the grey stuff on her rice and then started eating himself and the nice doctor with the lollipops had just come in. Maybe she could wait a little while.

Rosie grabbed the over-sized fork and aggressively stabbed at the plate, trying to secure the food before it had a chance to escape on her. Sending a little wave to the doctor she was halfway to taking her first bite when the other girl from the Alliance ship showed up all in a rush, whirling about the table like a top. Cassidy was her name, just like the girl captain A'kinzy has told her about! She was nice, but not always loud like this. But she had a bunny Dot could play with and that was fun. Rosie watched adamantly wondering for a moment who was gonna win the race until the Cap'n caught hold.

Cass flopped into the chair beside and another small smile was given, shy almost; which was strange because the two had definitely met before. Leaning in her words were a failed half whisper. "Can't ask that first silly! Gotta do it all surprise like then say sorry. They get less mad that way!" Then she came in; and Rosie still didn't know what to think about that. Mommy was dead, but this was mommy... but not at the same time. It was almost like this Tessa had stolen mommy. She smelled the same and had the tattoo but she didn't smile right and she never ever laughed. Rosalee remembered her mommy laughing, it sounded like little bells; she also had a few pictures and Mommy always looked happy in those.

Looking quickly back to her plate the child finally took the first bite, her face dissolving immediately into one of utter displeasure. She didn't like this at all! Swallowing grudgingly the child made a gaggy noise and a small whine before pushing of her chair with a thud and moving to clamber into Hunter's lap all knees and elbows. "What's wrong darlin'? You got your own seat see? Made high for you and all." His voice rumbled as a comfort but she was already cranky and tired and unhappy so not even soft words could bring her down now. "I don't like it, it's too hard." There was a high whine echoed in her tone causing her to struggle harder to get up without the aid of his arms. One elbow finally hooked and she managed to hoist herself hard, leading to an unexpected bang of her head head on the bottom of the table's edge.

A whimper and tears weren't far behind and Hunter hadn't faired much better; scowling in pain with a grunt and a lurch as his daughter landed a blow square between the legs. "Guh! Rosie! Careful will ya? And you gotta eat your dinner darlin'. " Leaning up into his chest and very much in the way of any motion tears fell more steadily. "No I dun' wanna. It's yucky and I don't like it an' you can't make me an' an' an'..." With a huff she thumped her legs and buried her face. Rosie wouldn't be eating that and it was final.

As she continued to gently spoon food into her mouth, Cora was vaguely aware of Rosalee’s wave, and she offered a brief thin smile in response before sinking back into her repose. The galley was filling up. Captain, with her own offspring. She looked happy, happier than she’d ever seen her. The sort of happiness that blinded you to the realities of your situation. Then Fi, Tom, Rora...that woman.

Another pang, this time of outrage hit the doctor. After the suspicion and scorn she’d been subjected to over her Alliance roots, they’d let this strange creature on board without a moment’s hesitation. Around the children. Matricide wasn’t the most popular of crimes, it didn’t mean it didn’t happen. Drew’d been beaten to within an inch of his life by her people. Now she was eating dinner with them. Instead of saying any of the things that were bubbling even fiercer inside of her, Cora simply let out the tiniest sigh and carried on eating. Then Gwen said something that captured her attention.

They were landing to re-fuel and gather supplies. Somewhere. Anywhere. Whatever port it was, it might be her only opportunity to get off this godforsaken ship before she had to witness any more destruction and tend to more senseless wounds. Oh, it would be selfish. It’d mean abandoning patients, child patients at that. But the sheer relief of not knowing what dangers she’d be barrelling into next, wouldn’t that be worth it? She could disappear again, this time for good. It was at least worth more hours of thought. Ether that or she could stoically watch Rosie’s impending tantrum.

Tom felt tension. It was uncomfortable and his back stiffened at it as he gripped his eating utensil in his good hand. He didn't know his comment would bring so much tension. Actually, it wasn't his comment, but it was the simple offer from the new redhead that she could cook. He did not trust her, but then again, Tom rarely trusted any new member that set foot on Cressida until they proved their worth. He didn't know much about her, except what was told and that she was brought on after they retrieved the kids. He didn't find that he had much reason to trust her and from Fi's comment, he could tell that she probably didn't trust her either. He glanced quickly at her from his place next to her before he shoveled another bite into his mouth.

"I just hope we find someone sooner rather than later," He mumbled more to himself than out loud to the crew. If only he could actually cook. He had tried it once and it ended disastrously. That was when he decided he would just stick to where his talents were: flying.

Tom smirked a little when he heard the newest kid say something about a food fight. "Ya know, that would actually be entertainin'." He wasn't going to start it. Let the kids do that if they wanted to. He wasn't going to get pinned for being immature, although he would definitely go along with it.

[blockquote]Far away from the galley, deep within the passageways of the ship, the young boy was wandering about. Yep, he did a lot of exploring when it came to this here boat, and for the past few hours it had been no different. For some reason, whether it made sense or not, he simply wanted to memorize the entire setup of the Cressida down to the last bolt and by god, he would succeed... eventually.

It was while Jean was so far away from the galley, where even the aroma had yet to make its way to him, that he heard Hunter’s voice echoing over the comm. Mmm... food. That sounded good right about now.

Stomach grumbling in agreement, the preteen soon turned around on his heel and began to make way for the galley. His feet carried him there quickly, running through the ship’s corridors since no one was nearby to hear or yell at him for his actions.

Of course, he began to slow down until he was moving at a simple walking pace as he neared his destination, didn’t want to get in trouble now. Worrying a bit, he wondered if those four minutes were up and all the food had been claimed. Awful as that would be, the boy wouldn’t complain either way.

Stepping through the doorway, he saw many people in the room. There were even more ladies and gentlemen in here than usual it seemed! He tried not to appear nervous as he wandered further into the galley, though, quickly picking up one of the smaller plates and gently scooping some food onto it before sitting in one of the open seats without so much as a word. His seat was closer to the Alliance lady than anyone else’s, but he honestly didn’t see anything wrong with her yet, whereas some of the others seemed to have something against her.[/blockquote]

Rora tossed Cassidy - who she had yet to really get to know - a small smile. "Yeh, chicky-babe, but I don't think plannin' a food fight is too dern good of a plan. You have to spring it on people." The brunette eyed her food, her smirk growing more wicked by the moment.

Considering, she took a bite, letting the conversation begin again before leaning closer to Cassidy and whispering, "Like this." And promptly, the mechanic took a handful and tossed a glop of it at Gwen, landing on the top of the blonde's head and dripping slowly into her face.

Pressing her lips together, it took a great effort for the former companion not to burst out laughing right then. Gods, that felt so gorram good! Rora kept her emerald eyes on the Captain, her wicked smile growing. The look on Gwen's face more often would have had Rora running in the opposite direction, but really? Not today.

"And before they really get a chance ta figure out what's happenin...'" Rora took another glop and tossed it at Hunter, unable to resist a laugh as it smacked him right in his face. The look on his face as the stirfry dropped away made Rora double over, the laughter bubbling up making her back from the table and crack up laughing. And little Rosie! She'd gotten some on her cherubic face as well, and the poor thing looked so confused for a moment...a pinch of Rora felt bad, but hoped the activity might cheer the girl up. She remembered hitting her head was none too fun, and she did adore Rosie. "Oh, Rosie, dear...I'm...sorry!" Rora barely managed the words between her giggles.

Whatever Gwen was going to say next was cut off as protein hit her forehead, slipping down her face in the goopy mess that protein always was. Her own fork was half raised before emerald eyes quickly locked on to the mechanic who was sitting across from her. Those eyes sharpened in to pin points having just told her daughter there would be no food fights going on at the table. But with the stress they had been having? Well...

Reaching up once the fork was sitting back down her her plate the captain carefully wiped the gunk that was sliding down her face off. It was a deep breath between her teeth that caused a low whistle to come from Gwen's lips causing the little girl beside of her to freeze. Oh Cassidy wanted to laugh and it wasn't until Rora had thrown the dinner at Hunter did the little girl actually break out in giggles. When her mother made a soft noise of her throat being cleared the giggles instantly stopped. "I believe... that what your Aunt Rora is trying to say is..."

Quickly Gwen reached down scooping up a small handful of food off her plate and slinging it at the woman across from her. The former red head was close to cackling with laughter turning to look at Hunter where he sat before giving Cass a nudge with her elbow. This one time. That was it.

Fi was still giving the (currently) lone red head the stink eye still. She didn't trust, likely never would. Yet no one else seemed to have much problem with her. Cap'n was speaking all civil-like to her even. Fi snorted hearing Gwen mention getting a pilot willing to put up with their crew, not likely. Still, Fi usually took up cooking when they didn't have one cuz she knew about spices and how to at least make the food palatable.

The petite jack of all trades shared a grin with Rora as the mechanic joined them and then Tom mentioned a food fight sounded entertaining. Why did he think she'd mentioned it in the first place? Wait, he hadn't been there when she had. Fi blinked and shook her head a little, nudging him softly with her elbow, a wicked grin starting to spread across her face. She scooped up a fork full of glop, trying not to let anyone notice her, but Rora beat her to it.

A fist full of food hit Gwen straight in the face. Another went at Hunter, the tired and soon to be throwing a tantrum brat on his lap got a little on her face too, but Fi had a feeling she was about to be diverted. Fi quickly launched the glop at Rora, hitting her in the forehead even as the tiny blond reloaded and aimed at Jean, smacking him as well. No one could fault her aim.

"The trick is to keep on throwing girls, don't pause to give them time." Giggling hysterically, scooping off the glob that had hit her shoulder and lobbing it at Cassidy. She took time to grab a fist full off Tom's plate, throwing it at Cora, still laughing. She couldn't remember the last time she'd smiled like she was now, it wasn't often.

With a half smothered shriek of laughter the blond ducked down, half behind Tom's seat. "I've got snacks in my room Tom," It was the most apology he was going to get for her attacking his food as well as her own, but this was war and everything was a weapon. Including the gunk that had just landed in her hair.

Tessa was staring blankly forward, actually in a bit of shock that the crew had started a food fight. The Captain had encouraged it by joining in. It was ... insanity. Tessa had been about to offer to bring crackers to Rosie, so that she would eat something, when the too-pretty mechanic that kept giving Hunter looks had thrown a fist of the concoction Hunter had made at Captain MacKenzie.

Tessa watched food get thrown back and forth before seeing poor Jean get pegged by Seraphina. She wordlessly picked up her plate and scrapped the food onto the boys before then using the plate as a shield. She wasn't in the mood to wash food out of her hair. She blocked two attempts from the blond midget all the while wondering why she didn't stand up and walk out. She lifted the plate again, this time to block food from another direction. Ah, yes, there was the answer. She didn't leave because she was likely to get food on the back of her shirt.

One thing Tessa was a stickler about was cleanliness. Well, it was actually one of many things, but this one wasn't an order. It was simply the way that she was. she liked things neat and clean and orderly. Her dark eyes were already straying to the spots of food that were on the floor, walls and ceiling, wondering where the cleaning supplies were. It was bad enough that everything had been destroyed by her last crew, now there was food on everything as well. She hated -Hated!- mold and it was quick to appear in space. She lifted her chin a little, freezing all her muscles so she didn't shudder. This was disgusting.

Out of the corner of his eye, he was watching Fi pick up the glob of food off her plate once she had nudged him. The smirk tugged harder at his lips and when he saw Rora throw the first lump of stir fry at Gwen, it broke out into a grin. He didn't know the last time he actually grinned like this. He was usually the stoic pilot that not many knew what he was thinking. He needed to break out and really, this was just some fun way to do it.

He was about to grab some of his own food to throw it, but Fi's tinier hand was there first and he shook his head. He should have known that she would use his food as well. Tom waited until her hand was gone and he grabbed a bunch that was there. He launched the fistful just in any direction. Might as well add random chaos to the food fight.

He heard Fi say something about snacks in her bunk and he could feel her slightly behind him. Scooping up more food, he aimed towards Rora. "I'll take you up on that offer," he replied to Fi, "Just don't use all my food." At that moment, his grin grew wicked. "On the other hand, if you want to use it, here have it," He twisted in his chair and mashed the food in his hand against her head.

Just as Cora was starting to ponder the specifics of how easy it would be to slip away into the shadows, she was interrupted by a gob of food, which hit her squarely on her shoulder. Her normally quick reflexes were dulled slightly, and she blinked twice stumbling out of her daze to work out what was going on. The doctor's eyes flicked downwards, then across the table. "Oh. Really? Right." Again? Now??! With this crew, honestly you just never knew. She'd had an over zealous friend studying psychiatry back at the Academy that would've prescribed some lengthy hours of counselling on how to properly deal with their emotions to the whole bunch of them.. With maybe some anger management as a sideline for Fi. She could almost smile at the very thought of them trying it her way.

Well never mind, she'd wanted to get a good head start on her laundry anyway and her appetite didn't seem to be up to much. Besides, it was good practice for slipping away. Without even her customary 'please excuse me' Cora rose from the table and headed for the hatch. If Dr. Lancaster was still resting, maybe the MedBay would be empty... if she was in dirty clothes she might as well get some cleaning done. The worst of the damage was fixed, but that didn't mean something didn't need disinfecting... In Cora's experience, something ALWAYS needed disinfecting!

"All right! All right, all right, all right." the Captain called out to the members of her grew still in the galley, most of them except maybe Tessa, covered in food in some way. Gwen herself was grinning wide carefully picking a few pieces of stir fry from her head then motioned towards Cassidy to help assist the little one do the same. "Now that we got that outta our systems..."

It was good to see the gang smiling like they were. They had all been through a lot the last couple of months and were to the point of cracking. Even if Cora or even Tessa didn't approve, this was good for them. "Since, Rora, you are the instigator in this, you get to give the munchkins their baths now. Rest of us will get started getting this place picked up. But-" she quickly interjected before anyone could move off to work on their assigned areas now, "Tom I want you to set a course to the closest inhabited planet with a beach that has a place we can park at. Fi, find us a hotel or something. As much as I know a small few of us will be staying on Cressi, sleeping in a real bed for a couple of days will be wonderful."

too damn pretty to die
"Yesssss!" Rora couldn't help but cheer, dropping her head back behind her, shivering her as a glop of food slipped from her hair and landed on the floor. "Ech..."

The thought of relaxing for a few days took her mind off of the Companion, the rebuild, everything. It was amazing how cathartic that feeling was. Sitting up, Rora leaned on her elbows, giving Fi a roguish smile. "Okay, Fi. I challenge you - we'll find a bar, then, it's you. Me. I will show you how to drink."

Rora cocked an eyebrow, putting down her fist with another grin as she stood up. She moved over to Hunter, leaning over him to grab up Rosalee. "Sorry, love. Time to get goin', get you all cleaned up, hm?" She tossed Hunter a wink, hoping that he would be okay to deal with her taking Rosie - even if it was for a simple thing like a bath.

Dipping beside Cassidy, Rora smiled, "You coming, darlin'?" She offered her hand as she adjusted Rosie on her hip. "Unfortunately, gettin' messy leads up to gettin' a bath."
