“No more mutants...”

None could have guessed what effects those three simple words would have rendered upon the world whenever uttered from the mouth of an unstable mutant. While it had not been the first time she was guilty of altering the world for her great selfishness, Wanda Maximoff, at least, to many remained an innocent bystander in a deceitful game much larger than her petty desires. However, to some she was simply an abomination and a threat to human and mutant kind alike.

Forever changed, the lives of mutants are threatened by seemingly imminent extinction. Though the number is uncertain, it is suspected that after the events of M-Day and Decimation, the mutant species is rightfully considered endangered. Post the events which extracted the abilities from a considerable amount of mutants, there was a great converging of former enemies to reestablish the reality that they had formerly known. Dystopic as the world seems to many mutants, the X-Men still retain their idyllic vision of a future not lost for mutants and still act as a home for the now depowered mutants who still remain members of their team, at least, those who haven't returned home since the loss of their mutant capabilities. Though, such a decimation had caused more than just ramifications amongst mutant life, it also caused several ruptures between allies and friends.

Such was the instance for The White Queen. The dismissing of her initial suggestions of the extermination of The Scarlet Witch and the failure to do so caused the woman to reconsider many of her recent elections. Perhaps feeling scorn or a lack of control, Frost gathered her forces of Hellions and returned to Massachusetts to begin reestablishing her own base. However foolish the decision seemed, considering the waning number of existing mutants, Frost steadfast and determined in her leadership capabilities, continued regardless of many attempting to convince her to stay, even her supposed love Scott Summers.

Unpredictable and ominous, the future remains a dark secret for mutants. And while many would give their lives to feel some sense of positivity about what is to come, there are others who linger in the vestiges plotting and conspiring to the contrary. Would you be prepared to defend yourself in what is to come?
