He had finally found where the little brat was hiding. Honestly he couldn't blame his sister for hiding her bastard child on some Core planet. It had been a brilliant idea though. Give the child to people they had known as they were growing up, people who were 'reformed Independents' and let them tend to her offspring. True he had been to blind to the idea of his sister having allowed herself have fallen so far to have a child outside of wedlock though looking back at it now he could see the small child there on the ranch when he had gone back to Verbena to take over. Not just to take over... to ruin her life. Jon had made a promise to their parents that he would destroy them all and, slowly but surely, he was working his way on his sister.

Jonathan clasped his hands behind his back, his pristine black uniform blending well with the shadows of the room, watching the floating image of the S.S. Bǐng Quān. The captain had requested an escort as they made their way back toward the Core having found some high ranked politicians amongst the guests onboard the cruise ship. At first the Alliance captain had been hesitant to agree allowing his crew near such a vessel, but after the events on Verbena, a small allowance could be made for them. Security details and small parties of people off the clock to enjoy the 'carnival' theme that the ship seemed to like.

Sharp eyes glanced to the chrono that resided under the image in the room. The shuttle with his sisters daughter would be arriving soon. Being the only sound family member Gwendolyn had left, it was in the girl's best interest if he took her in to keeping. For now. She was nothing but a pawn in the hands of his little game of manipulating his sister to where he wanted her. Of course, and unfortunately, the family she had been placed with were found guilty of treason against the government aiding the underground resistance to restore the Independent army. A shame they had to all be executed for it.

There were new crew on his ship as well, he having been awarded a larger crew to supplement the skeleton crew he had prior to the sabotage. A new First Officer, new departmental heads. It would be nice to see his precious ship back to full strength once again and with their mission now settled in place amongst the military as well as the government. They would need the brightest of the best to hunt down the resistance and squash it before they could do any more damage to the peaceful, Alliance friendly, worlds. Crossing the room, Jon reached out touching a screen that was nestled under the table top and pulling up the communications officer on duty. "Ensign, send a wave to Commander Strauss informing him I wish his presence in the conference room within five minutes." As the woman on duty confirmed his message, the link was clicked shut leaving the older man to studying the image of the Bǐng Quān once more.

Rollan had been on a tour with S.O. Vibeke when the illusive captain had called for him. The commander parted a few minutes after, taking his time to go by his cabin to grab a service jacket before showing up. Sure he was running a few minutes behind but MacKenzie had hand picked him for this tour, getting kicked off for lack of timeliness wasn't something to worry about hopefully.

The room was darkened slightly due to the hologram projector running an image of a ship at the moment. It took the Rollan a second to see the captain as his eyes needed to adjust first. It didn't help that alliance issued uniforms were a little on the darker side. As far as first impressions went, this didn't like a good one for either of them, what with running late and the captain's slightly intimidating nature.

"You called Captain? The commander let his presence be known before saluting and going into attention. "Sorry it took so long, I'm still learning my way around the ship he quickly added. It wasn't a good lie but hopefully it'd soften the fact he was a little late. A quick look at MacKenzie let Rollan know that the captain wasn't one to jerk around, which meant something was going down.

"I expect you to have every location on this ship memorized by this evening, Commander."

As much as could be assumed by his fellow Alliance officers, Jonathan was not so strict on decorum when it came to business. He would salute when he had need and his uniform was always pristine with badges or rank bars shined to perfection down to his boots. This go around a simple nod was all the newest member of the crew got in return before the black uniformed man turned back to the image of the S.S. Bǐng Quān. "How much do you know about this ship? The Bǐng Quān."

Moving about the table the Captain allowed a couple of fingers to trail along smooth wooden surface. Most of the ships that were in the Fleet had metal or the fake stuff. But not the Shènglì. She was bigger, stronger, faster than any of the other A.P.V.'s that the Alliance had in their stores. Why? Because they were the forefront of taking out the Independent Resistance that was brewing up a storm in the Border. When Jon came about the table he was standing in front of his new X.O. To say that Jon was impressed was very lacking in the expression that crossed the stern man's eyes. He was going to have to have a conversation later about promptness and uniforms so it seemed.

"Yes Sir!" Rollan replied, inwardly kicking himself as it seemed he'd gotten off on the wrong foot with the Captain already. He was now definitely regretting taking his time to get here.

"How much do you know about this ship? The Bǐng Quān."

The commander's eyes flicked over to the floating image of what he could only guess was the Bǐng Quān. From where he stood it seemed to he a Scarab class luxury liner and while he wasn't exactly familiar with the Quān, Rollan had some experience with being on a ship of that size. The Alliance loved to throw officer parties on board ships of that type all the time,a open bar was something that the commander could never passed up.

Rollan's eyes moved to follow Captain MacKenzie as the man walked around the table to stop in front of him. Jonathan was definitely a lot more intimidating than he had first thought, especially at this distance. "Not the Bǐng Quān specifically, sir." he replied cautiously, "Though I've spent a good bit of time on board Scarabs before. Fancy places, good tastes in design and the like. Nothing that typically warrants tactical interest thought, so what makes this one so special?
