Her ancestors came from Norway and Sweden of Earth-that-Was, and she bears their strong genetic traits. Her jaw is square, her skin ghostly pale, and her eyes a sparkling blue. Her hair is a pale blond, straight as can be and hanging to her shoulders. Her physique is that of an athlete's, her muscles sculpted but not bulging. She is not particularly feminine, with narrow hips and small breasts, but she does not see any reason why that would be a problem. After all, such things would only hinder her. The security officer walks very quickly, almost as if she need to speed around to get everywhere. Her movements are sharp and brisk, her manner of speaking is as well. She cuts off the ends of her words sharply, and almost sounds as if she is angry quite a bit of the time. When in dress uniform, she is always pristine, her hair kept back in a ponytail, the fly-away hairs slicked down. Her normal attire usually consists of men's slacks, tank tops, and boots. She is always armed, usually with several weapons. Seeing Adelis without at least one holster on her is almost like seeing her in the buff. [title]Psyche Evolution[/title] A.K. doesn't really see the world in shades of gray, only in the defined black and whites, rights and wrongs. Once she has made up her mind about something, she sticks to it, regardless of what new information may come her way. She is stubborn and she is passionate, two traits that make her a fairly decent soldier. Once she has received her orders, she sticks to them, even if she disagrees with them on some basis. After all, the greater good of the Alliance is more important than her disagreement with a singular order, is it not? She has a dark, dry sense of humor and a distinct love of firearms. Instead of being an optimist or a pessimist, she tends to be more of a realist, understanding the downsides of situations and simply accepting them. Her guns are her babies, and she takes care of them in the best manner possible. She treats her body almost as well as she treats her guns, working out daily, eating as well as she can, and neither drinking or smoking. Instead of the typical vices people go for, A.K. is an adrenaline junkie. She loves battle, she loves missions, and she really loves shooting. She's a show-off with her guns, and nothing makes her happier than getting nearly-impossible shots off in front of others. She also loves to show off her knowledge of weaponry, especially in front of men. (She has a bit of a gender complex, she feels that she constantly needs to prove her worth to her male comrades.) [title]Personal Records[/title] Adelis' parents lived in a fishing village on Aesir. They met through chance, fell in love, got married, and started popping out babies. (Which is generally, of course, how people end up in this world.) They had a boy and two girls, the youngest being our lovely lady, Miss Adelis. Even as a child she was always interested in weaponry, and she couldn't understand for the life of her why her father would use such archaic nets to capture fish when there were explosives that could be used instead! (One particular instance in which she tried to show him her method almost landed her in jail, but thanks to her good-natured father and his relationship with the town officials, she only ended up having to clean up the fish goo from the houses that had been hit.) Aesir just didn't have enough adventure and danger for Adelis. She did well in school, working her ass off to prove herself to the Alliance. When she turned 18 she enlisted, and her knowledge of weaponry and penchant for a happy trigger-finger earned her the nickname "A.K." (The fact that it was her initials helped her a bit too.) She hadn't been working for the Alliance long when the Civil War broke out. Of course, she fought as hard as she could, killing those gorramn Browncoats left and right. Even earned herself the rank of Lieutenant by the end of it, which she proudly wrote home about, of course. After the Unification, A.K. was assigned to a desk job, helping the Alliance decide which guns to assign to specific missions, as well as working on making them better. Surrounded by scientists and paperwork, she nearly went mad, and begged for reassignment. They sent her out into the black, monitoring rim planets. It was better than nothing, but she felt that she deserved more. Then came the letter from Jon MacKenzie. Captain Jon MacKenzie. Seemed he needed help killin' Browncoats, something Adelis was damn good at. So off she went, giving her post to some other poor bastard and kickin' it to Verbena, which is where we'll begin our tale... Edited by Adelis Vibeke, Mar 13 2010, 01:36 AM.
