The ship was asleep. Or, rather, everyone but Echo was asleep. Making sure autopilot was set, Echo slipped from the chair in the Bridge and made her way quietly down the hall into the Galley. Echo felt slightly guilty for not getting to know the rest of the Crew better, but with Tom out until his wrist was better, Echo felt her place was in the pilot's chair...or, rather, co-pilot's chair. She had made it obvious to Tom, or tried, that she was in no way trying to steal his position... ...and yet she'd spent the better part of the last week in the Bridge. She was glad the new Mission did not include her, and, though she knew the details, was happy in her place. Opening up the fridge, Echo raised her eyebrows, in search of something to take care of the hunger bug that had decided to bite her today. "Ooooo, yum," she said with a smile, reaching in and pulling out an apple. It had a few bruises, but it was fresh food, something she found herself already beginning to miss, even though she was still so new. Slipping into a seat at the table, Echo took a juicy bite, and smiled to herself, letting out a slightly muffled moan of pleasure. No wonder legend said a woman committed the first sin of eating such a wonderful thing. She would have done the same, gladly. Perhaps with even more bravado than the Eve of myth. |

After practicing for just over a day, Jean found that juggling wasn’t actually all that hard. Sure, it had been at first, but now he was doing pretty well if he did say so himself. Course he hadn’t yet attempted to juggle with four objects, three was fine for now. The boy was lucky he had gotten better at his act, because now he was pretty sure most of the crew was asleep and would get pretty angry if they heard him dropping things every two seconds like he had the day before! He was well aware of how late it was, but he just had to practice right now, he had to practice hard so as to make sure he was a pro at it when the time came for them to board that ship! At the moment, he was in the middle of practicing while walking around the ship and up and down stairs and the like. Well, the juggling while moving up stairs part was hard and he had to go extra slow, but he was still quite proud of himself. Passing through the galley, Jean noticed someone was in there, making it apparent that not everyone had been sleeping. Trying to figure out who it was while still concentrating on what he was juggling, he realized she was one of the crewmembers that he didn’t know all too well. ”What do ya think? Am I doin’ this pretty good?” he smiled at her but then had to make a quick recovery and turn his attention back to what he was doing as he almost dropped them all. Echo nearly choked on the bite of apple, but she managed to avoid the fruit lodging in her throat. It was the boy, not quite a teenager, one she'd heard the crew talk about, had briefly seen, but otherwise, she only really knew his name. Jean caught his mistake, and Echo chuckled. "Nicely done!" she said honestly. "You're a million times better than I am." She rolled the apple up her one arm, then down the other, before taking another bite. Smiling at him, Echo stood, moving the counter and cutting the apple in half, offering him the unbitten one. "You're welcome to it. You must be getting hungry and tired if you've been doing that as long as I think you have." |
