Noticeable Features:

Hunter may as well have been made as a miner. Sinewy arms and back developed from years of hauling, fighting and just generally putting his body to use. He walks with that masculine swagger, talks rough as any of the guys and isn't afraid to back up his mouth with his fist. His prominent jaw line sports a scraggly beard on almost any occasion, although he likes to try and keep it short when hes going to be stuck in alliance country for a long periods of time, makes him look a lot more respectable and draws far less attention. His hair is cropped about two inches in length and always looks as though he has just run his hands through it. Underneath the typical layer of grime his skin is lightly tanned. Hunter goes out of his way to spend any extra time off ship out in the sun.

His clothing is practical, a tank and heavy work pants worn almost always, and his brown duster for going into town. He carries two guns on his person at all times, one in a leg holster the other under the arm. Hunter also likes to keep a small tool kit around for emergencies. Never know when you might catch a glimpse of something you could alter and sabotage the Alliance. His hands and lower arms were burned badly in his childhood and he retained the marks still, burn scars covering his skin from finger tip to elbow on each arm. Luckily the scar tissue doesn't impede on his dexterity.

[title]Psyche Evolution[/title]

Hunter Williams is a bit of a rough man. He tends to say and act far before thinking making him blunt to the point of rude. Only his charisma and down-to-earth familiarity with people get him through this short coming. While one could easily take one look at him and file him away under the 'empty headed redneck' category he actually does have quite a bit of book smarts under all that hick demeanor, at least the kind applied to machines. He is a skilled machinist that can make just about anything go given a spanner and a stick of gum. His inventions can be a little wild at times.

He is always making jokes, the moment something gets stressful or uncomfortable he's poking fun at it and dragging it across the floor. Deals with stress through laughter. Figures if you can find something to laugh at in it, it can't get close enough to hurt you. Sometimes gets him in trouble laughing at times others find inappropriate.

Hunter has a lot of friends, a lot of people who'll smile and wave and stop to talk with him on the street, but not anyone he opens up to past a pretty superficial point. He'll talk about goings on and liquor and anything in the other persons life until the sun explodes, but not what he's really feeling.

Has ADHD, albeit mildly. That impulsive lack of filter to what hes saying? Yeah that's where it comes from. The structure of a soldier's like worked very well to keep him on task and running smoothly. Since then he's tried to emulate that working on ships. He distrusts anything Alliance inherently, almost to the point of obsession, and doesn't stop himself from telling just about anyone where he think the bastards can go stick their shiny badges.

Hunter isn't just made up of angry and blunt though, in fact those parts of him only really shine through given the right circumstances. For instance when confronted with those that supported the 'Unification War' or when drunk. Seeing as he tends to avoid those types of people the only time you need to really worry is when hes drunk... So any time you set down planet side.

[title]Personal Records[/title]
Early Life
In 2489 Hunter Dean Williams was born to a mechanic for many of the local factories and a baker, and they were happy. He was an excited and highly energetic child that found interest in almost anything. Hunter spent his time roaming the streets with the other children. His zest made him a natural leader and in his time headed up many adventures that usually ended with them all getting in trouble.

His parents were always in the thick of the political unrest, and were openly members of the Independent Faction. Publicly advocating against many Alliance policies they gained a bit of a reputation with the local forces and were flagged on cortex on a couple of watch lists.

Hunter had always had a fascination with the ships that came in day after day and dreamed of flying his own when he was older instead of working the factories as everyone else did. Still, just like most of the other children on the planet Hunter began to learn his father's trade, and found he enjoyed it. He was a quick learner and understood the theory behind the systems well enough that he could improvise and jerry-rig just about any part he didn't have. He soon moved onto creating his own small clockwork inventions instead of just fixing things others had made already. It was a great outlet for his abundance of energy and changed him from the childish prankster of the town into a budding young man.

In late 2503 temperatures were beginning to rise and his mother, finally fed up with the lack of aid for a planet that was so integral to the smooth operation of the 'verse, decided to run for office. It was a highly polarized race, in-sighting a near riot at one point over alleged Alliance tampering. When it was apparent that Mrs. Williams was probably going to take the vote both of Hunter's parents were accused of treason on baseless grounds in a last ditch attempt to bar them from office. They were taken for questioning for a full 24 hours and three days later his parents were dead.

Officially they claim his mother had been working with her ovens and something went wrong causing the entire place to light up. Everyone else knows differently. At the time Hunter had been walking home with his father from the shop. When they saw the flames his father sprinted down the street and ran inside without a second thought screaming for his wife. Hunter followed behind but was slower than his large father. He reached the door as it too burst into flames, but he tried to pull it down anyway. His hands ans forearms burning with a sickly smell, only the quick action of an onlooker dragging him away stopped the boy before he too could rush to his death. After a few months in the hospital an old family friend Leslie took him in.

Unificaion War
January 2506 - Leslie starts rallying the folks in town towards the Independents, holding hushed meetings in her home at night. Hunter wasn't allowed to attend because he wasn't of age yet, but he'd listen from the top of the stairs.

April 2506 - Runs away from Leslie's house and joins up with the Independent Army the moment he hears of recruiting. Still only 17, but his recruiting officer knew Hunter's father and somehow the record of his age just got 'mixed up'.

Hunter was enlisted into the 43rd Engineers and spent the next 5 years fighting in the war. He was promoted to Corporal specializing as a mechanics, just like many others in the battalion. Still if anything that seemed too broke to fix came around and it had moving bits to it, everyone knew to send it to Hunter and he'd get it working again nine times out of ten. His platoon was sent out on the most hair-brained missions imaginable. Covert strikes, sabotage, more sabotage, distraction. You name it they probably did it.

2511 - Battle of Serenity Valley; Hunter didn't spend a lot of time on the front lines during the war, more often than not trying to move covertly and accomplish very specific small scale missions. He learned a lot in that valley, and just like everyone else who survived the place, left a bit of himself back there along with the bodies of his brothers.

Recent Years
He never did quite give up on the cause. Leslie was still big into the resistance movement, because no one suspects an old woman in her eighties to be a major player in overthrowing an unjust government right? Hunter remained involved using his work as a mechanic on various ships for a couple years as an excuse to move information and accomplish small little missions. Delivering papers here, planting a bug there not staying on one ship for long, wasn't much different from the war really.

He did let wild and crazy when not on mission partying hard at the vet bars and attended the 'Love Festival' on Varley. Infact he went in 2511, 2512 and 2513, staying with they same woman each time. A mission had him missing in 2514, but when he returned in 2515 Hunter found that she had died and left behind a two year old daughter named Rosalee. The Companion House swore was his and handed her off to him on the spot. Skeptical about the claim Hunter hung around for a while trying to convince them to take the child back (what interest did he have in a kid?) until he realized that he didn't want to be rid of her.

He returned to ship life with Rosalee in tow, changing up venues often but keeping an eye out for a place to settle in for a good long stretch.
