He refuses to comment on the matter.) Alias: Cass Gender: Male Date of Birth: Dec. 29th 2499 (19 Standard Years Of Age) Home Planet: Aripolis when young, Londinum at 12, Schooling on Osiris Last Known Location: A.P.V. Shènglì Loyalty: Alliance Occupation: Programming and Communications Specialist Title: Corporal Family: ->Father: Senator Micheal Adlam (51) ->Mother: Ambassador Susan Adlam (47) ->Brother: Lieutenant-Commander Charles Adlam (25) ->'Cousin': Hayley Randal (20) Flags: -- [title]Physical Description[/title] Height: 5'10" Build: Slim, a little lanky Hair Color: Dark Brown Eye Color:Brown Noticeable Features: Casper has a triangular face, a jaw that sweeps in at a tight angle and ends with a subtle cleft. Eyebrows set atop a pair of oval shaped chocolate brown eye are slightly bushy and very expressive. At school and at home his hair is kept at a slightly lengthy two or three inches, swept back tastefully unless he is relaxing away from a discerning eye. His chin generally remains clean shaven for his inability to grown a complete and full beard like his brother (much to his dismay), although these days on the Shengli he has gained a slightly more scraggly look. He has also had to keep his hair cropped as of late in order to comply with Alliance military standards. It is a well known fact that the boy looks nothing like his father or brother, at least not overtly, and has been a source of rumor for sometime now. [title]Psyche Evolution[/title] When you grow up trying your best to make something of yourself from the shadows of an elitist father, a mysterious and powerful mother and a perfect older brother it can do one of a few things to you. Some turn into raging party animals using their money to get them any attention at all even if it's of the bad variety. Other toil away endlessly trying to prove themselves as the best, and still other just sort of shut down under the pressure. This is what happened to Casper in a way, he sort of just turned in on himself and did his own thing. Basically a model student with no close friends and an excellent testing record. Casper doesn't have the commanding personality and flashy showman ship of his father or the cunning tongue and sheer command his mother held over a room; no Charles inherited those traits. Casper is in a word reserved, quietly doing as he is told and never really making a ripple anywhere. Orderly and methodical he excels in his studies, one of the top students at his boarding school for the children of the wealthy and powerful. He is something of a whiz with systems analysis and just about anything computers. If it's coded he can hack it, or trace it or turn it into something completely new all together without triggering alarm fail safes given sufficient time. He holds a passion for ciphers and secret messages (stemming from his early days with Hayden) and spends much of his time playing with different forms of encoding messages. Between these skills and his obvious family ties the alliance considers him to have a lot of potential in their effort to cut back on Casper is pretty easily intimidated in general, especially by women of any sort. Something about them just have the young man's tongue all in a twist. He also gets to jabbering on about nothing important to the point of embarrassment. Except for with Hayden, she's the one person who can get him to drop that order and reserved front and let loose. His favorite place in the world is those three weeks in summer he spends out at her place with his family. But then she's not really a girl is she? Hayden's just Hayden. In a bundle Casper is lonely guy quick with numbers and theory, a natural with code of all kinds (both programming and ciphers), socially awkward, naive and can seem a little pretentious; but is generally good meaning and doesn't want to hurt anyone. Still he isn't about to stick his neck out for silly things like alliances, or take a stand on anything really, he'd much rather go unnoticed than be attacked. [title]Personal Records[/title] To understand Casper you have to understand his family. Micheal and Susan Adlam are one of the great power couples of the White Sun System, a combination of two strong families and the most vibrant they had to offer. When they were married he was an up and coming political figure head, just cut throat enough to make it all the way, with enough family money to put the upper class on edge and that big strong heart warming sincere feeling personality on screen to get the backing of the common folk. You couldn't have manufactured a better candidate if you tried. Susan could hold her own against a hundred men in any debate, quick witted and gorgeous to boot; just like any ambassador's daughter, or future ambassador for that matter, should be. Their marriage, while mostly political, was not a completely loveless one. They could bare each others company and enjoyed lavish trips together, and physically they were at the same level of attractiveness. But there was no true love there, no under-riding 'I am yours forever' connection. Still not too long after the I do's the pair bore a son and named him Charles. Six years later when Micheal had taken high office on Aripolis and Susan was taking frequent trips for her job (the title ambassador is rather foggy, no one really knows exactly what she does) she unexpectedly became pregnant again; taking a short leave from her duties as Alliance Ambassador. Casper was born. When Casper was 7 he was sent away to boarding school on Osiris along side his brother, seeing his family only on his two month mid-term breaks, and then only if one parent or another deigned to be home. He knew far more of the family servants than of his own mother or father. At twelve the family home was sold and they moved to Londinium when his father took the office of Senior MP of the planet Aripolis. Still, during the last two weeks of each break everyone came back and they headed off for Susan's family villa on Airen (the first moon of Sihnon). It is during these two weeks of the year Casper gets to see Hayden, and he looks forward to it for months. Hayley is his only close friend and confidant. She is also the daughter of Susan's childhood friend Mei Ling of Sihnon. Hayley is a bit of an upstart and always ends up dragging Casper along on her adventures. They started giving encoded messages back and forth at the end of the summer so that the other would have to try and decipher it during the year. Hayley's idea, but Casper loves it. The last one was so complex it took him four months to decode. As for his older brother, Charles grew to be every bit as dashing as his father and held a presence in a room that rivaled that of his mother. He was good at everything he put his mind to and excelled at anything he bothered to practice. It is said that Lieutenant-Commander Adlam could take a room full of unambitious homeless and given a day could transform them into up and coming privates; an exaggeration of course, but he is quite the inspirational speaker. He joined the military right out of school just after the end of the unification war. He is a rising star within the ranks, one of the youngest ever to reach the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, especially during times of peace. In comparison to Charles, Casper is considered a dead beat. After graduation Casper was recruited by the Alliance as a communications and programming specialist, they felt that his strength in both fields would make him a valuable asset in the effort to maintain the border worlds and combat rumored uprising; even if he has little to no combat value. His family ties may have helped him through the process. The A.V.P. ShengLi is his first post and he took up residence in the small bunk on the port exit of the Galley only about two months ago. The only thing that's kept him interested so far is trying to decode another of Hayley's messages. |
