Coralyn’s eyes got wider and wider as she watched the simple bickering escalate, until a full-blown debate was raging. All because of her? Typical. She seemed to have the special gift of causing conflict by merely existing. Several times she opened her mouth to interject, but any words she might have attempted would be drowned out by their hostile exchange or her own occasional stutter... still, at least it was civil...ish. No bad language, and their new recruit didn’t seem violent. Laid-back in fact. Fi herself was the biggest surprise, not one threat of a fight, just her own logic and reasoning. Maybe her ribs would live to see another day after all! All the same, there was a woman in the Medbay who did need her attention right now, it was almost time for Rora’s painkillers. Coralyn was going to have to make herself known again. “Please!” she piped up, louder than she’d expected. Though her face was still scarlet, and her brown eyes large and worried, she persevered. “I-I really need to get back. For Aurora. Do you need anything else whilst I’m here, Fi?” her feet shuffled eagerly beneath her, trying to carry her out the door. “I-if not, then um-perhaps we can all just carry on, and do our jobs.. maybe?” |

Fi looked over at Cora, wanting to snap at Echo still but reminded that she had a job she needed to be doing. Besides, it was the first time that Cora had stood up against her when it wasn't a medical emergency. Of course she didn't do it very well, but Fi didn't want to give her pointers in front of the floozy. Actually she wouldn't be giving her pointers at all, but that was beside the point. "We're done, go fix up Rora. Maybe on your way back you could bring me some more pain killers?" Fi prodded around the angry gash that was stitched shut on her forehead. It hurt a bit more than the big black eye, all of which was making the caustic little blond more cranky than usual. She wasn't going back to the medbay though, everytime she did someone tried to keep her there. Fi turned toward the taller blond glaring at her a bit and standing straighter, ignoring the twinging in her side that said she was no where near healed. "Right, do my job. That means you need to come over here, so I can get your scans done and you can go somewhere else," Fi's fingers flew across the pad to get all of the former strippers information into it so she could calibrate things. The woman would be under supervised security allowance because Fi didn't trust her and technically she was only the temporary pilot. She'd just be assisting Tom after his wrist was better. Besides, knowing Tom she'd rarely be alone up there. |

"Gladly," Echo said, moving to stand where Fi indicated. She was sure the cherub of a girl would keep a particularly critical eye on her - Echo would be disappointed if she did otherwise, honestly. To say they'd 'gotten off on the wrong foot' was an understatement. A big one. But Echo was here, she wasn't going anywhere, and she sure as gain mien wouldn't tailer her own bit of attitude for the blonde's sake. I made up gain mien...hehe |

Fi narrowed her eyes and thought happy thoughts, such as where the newest co-pilot could shove her fake blond head. She did the scans, shoving the taller woman around wordlessly just as she had the little doc. She already knew that this was going to be interesting with the new chick. She also had the feeling that she was going to have to be on her toes. A deeper background check might reveal something she could use to keep her in line, but if it didn't that wasn't really any skin off her nose. Fi was always barking, but she didn't bite unless antagonized and the Cap'n new it, so if the shit hit the fan, well. It wouldn't be her fault. "Hands," Fi commanded, holding out the pad. She figured if the woman had an ounce of intelligence she'd remember to do them one at a time. After all, the pad wasn't big enough for both at once. |

Her face still flushed, Cora was halfway out of the room even before being told there was nothing else for her to do there. Except... “Oh, pain-killers... right. Probably should have a little check-up later, too, see how they're healing.”Or not healing, thanks to the strenuous labor Miss Grant forced upon herself without cause or need. Yes Cora supported equal gender rights, but she'd been bought up to respect chivalry too, and there were several large men on board who could easily take on half Fi's workload, stop her from running around and getting into scraps for a little while at least.. She avoided eye contact with the new recruit, she was still a bit mortified about the entire argument, and would be for some hours. “And-uh, if you get sick or anything, Echo, you know where I am. Don't you? Medical Bay. Ok? Ok. Good.” Half-satisfied that there’d be no murder today, Coralyn finally left, wondering why in the ‘verse it was that dispute and debate trailed her just about anywhere she went. She was just a doctor! |
