The Pixel Academy
--.:~*Welcome*~:.--

This is a revamp of my thread on TTFF, here. I was also inspired by some users on different forums.

Anyways, this is an "academy" for those that wish to learn and/or improve upon their pixel skills. Each user will get a starting rank--usually being Normal Rank, unless they've proven worthy to another rank otherwise--and will be required to complete assignments, read up on lessons, and blah blah blah. I'm sure you guys get where I'm coming from, right? Though you're not really "required," I mean, there's no actual penalty for not turning stuff in, anyways...needless to say, no due dates. everything can be done at your own pace--in fact, assignments will be...erm, assigned to you individually. Most of those will be requested for and scored via PM to me, and will be publicized shown on certain threads that go along with the corresponding forum's rank. Yeah. Just lookind around may help out a bit better.

Some terminology and clarification:
Students: These, of course, make up the majority of the academy. Each student will be able to progress rank-by-rank at his/her own pace.

Teachers, Instructors, etc. (Whatever the hell you feel like calling them.): These will be the ones who assign and score stuffs for the students, and update the Rank threads telling about the student statistics and blah. I'm accepting entires at the moment, but you really have to prove yourself to me. I'm not accepting just anyone, y'know. And don't get me wrong--skill is only half of the requirement, but really leaves a good impression if I don't know you that well. If I, however, generally know the person and/or see that they have more knowledge than skill, I may consider hiring them. This is quite slim of a chance, though. Of course, the criteria will be a bit...high.
Teachers will most likely have moderator powers to an extent--merely to update certain thread(s) in the class sections.

Suspended students: Just students that have broken a certain rule or something. Whether I permanently ban them or just suspend them will all depend on the violation. Just...don't make me go through any specific criteria. M'kay? Surely you all aren't that stupid....*cough*
A serious lack of respect and/or courtesy would probably result in this. Y'know, if you're just being a huge asshole to everyone.

Banned / Expelled students: Read the above. Except, instead of merely being suspended for a certain amount of time, these members aren't allowed back. At all. Usually the result of art thievery and the like.

Drop-Outs: Students that have dropped out of t3h sk00l. Yeah. Everyone has them at some point.
However, these students are welcome back anytime. Even though, there really is NO actual point in dropping out at all, seeing how everything can be done on your own pace, no questions asked. *shrugs* I think it's just those crazy, paranoia-induced people who feel extremely pressured all the time. *brick'd*
Nah. Just a little humor....

As goes for assignements and such: Listen closely. There are no actual "due dates" for them, like I've said, and only, like, a bajillion times at that. It will be scored once turned in, so make sure that you're sure that it's totally ready to be turned in!
A lesson will be posted in the below forums. No, not in this thread page--move back a couple pages on your browser. See the forums below this one? Yeah.

The lesson will be posted up, and a tutorial, of course. Whether it be a tutorial from an archive/another site will totally depend...on everything. But credit will be given.
Just then, I will state that you will be required to finish _____ number of assignments for THAT lesson. BEFORE you move onto the ones for the next lesson, you MUST finish all of the ones on the current one! Trust me. I keep track of this stuff. Like a ninja. >=O

All-in-all, when you've completed everything and are ready to take the test (yes, you MUST take a test to move onto the next rank.), send me a PM. Just then, I'll decide if you're ready for even that--wanna know how? Each of your scores are kept track of. If the TOTAL of every score averages out to about 59% or lower, you will have to take the lessons over again. Sorry.
However, I may make a few exceptions for this. But not now...bitte. >:
If your average is 60% or higher, however (the criteria there WILL tend to get a bit higher as your ranking goes up), you're ready to test.
Passed that with flying colors? Great. if you get an average of 75% or higher, congrats, you get to move on to the next rank. Get lower than that? Sorry (but...somewhere along the lines of...oh, say, a 74%, would still pass. That'd be just strange and too merciless if I didn't round up like that. O_o;). If you didn't pass, you'll be given NO LESS THAN a week to retake it. Retake it as many times as you need! No one's rushing you (they'd BETTER not. *shakes fist*), no one's laughing in your face at you. Well...that can't be guaranteed, but...I'll make sure they don't make that publicized. *cracks knuckles* >3

Tests would most likely consist of both written/multiple choice questions, and, of course, the pixel art. The latter is the main part of your score.

That's all for now.
Any questions--general and specific alike--can be asked here, or by PM, or whatever. If I feel as if it needs to be answered for everyone, I'll post the Q and A for the whole world to see.

Have fun.
