If Remus Lupin had been given the choice, he would not have been making the die-hard task of going to Hogsmede on a day like this. On a day like this, the term 'raining cats and dogs' seemed to be quite the understatement. On a day like this, Chinese Water Torture seemed like a joke. On a day like this, Remus did not want to be out. But he was, and with his treacherous journey already half-way over, it would have been stupid beyond all reason to go back now. Nonetheless, he continued to curse left and right about the overall dismal atmosphere he had thrown himself into. He found every little thing to be angry about as he slowly but surely made his way towards the town neighboring Hogwarts. His shoes were soaked, as were his socks because of a newly discovered hole in one of his said shoes. His denim jeans were muddied and ripped at the bottom, causing an uncomfortable sensation to creep up and around his leg. With three layers of shirts consisting of a wife-beater, yellow short-sleeve shirt, and deep red sweater covered by a patched up jacket, Remus could still feel the chill wind rattling at his very skin. He hated it, the poor boy.

James and Sirius should be bloody doing this, he thought with a fair amount of hostility. Remus could imagine that polishing trophies with Filch wasn't a walk in the park, but neither was walking in the rain for him. It was some god-awful plan they had come up with that had led Remus to this current mission involving Hogsmede. It involved dungbombs or something of the sort, whatever he could manage to find without looking suspicous, actually. Remus himself wasn't all too sure of what his two friends had in mind. It was rare that he did in these sort of pranks. Anything involving odd smells suddenly emmitting from anywhere within the castle was normally the works of James and Sirius alone; Remus would recieve word of their chaotic plot normally hours before, and that was just to keep him safe. As mentioned, though, James and Sirius were waxing trophies. No magic. No wands. Not so much as a proper rag for the deed. And with this occurring all throughout the week, and Peter various other times proving not to be the most-trusted with these sorts of things, it was now Remus's job to help them.

He could have looked on the bright side to this, though. With the very beginnings of the prank resting in his hands, Remus now controlled the amount, per say, of things he was to actually get. Remus could have played life-saver by only getting a few items, enough, perhaps, to only evacuate a room or two at most. He could have saved himself the guilt of being the one who bought so many atrocities, played heroine in sparing the noses of many within the school. Remus could have saved James and Sirius, and even himself for now being a part of this, from a fairly good amount of detention. Even if his friends tried to rally as many as they could to upold a reputation, Remus did not enjoy the possiblity of also being in trouble. As he thought this over, he was well in the town now, inside Zonko's in fact. He weaved in and out of people fairly easy, finding his way to the foulest of isles that existed within the shop's walls.

Remus's mind, however, switched completely at the sight of Marlene. An eyebrow quirked, accompanied by a slight tilt of the head. Never would he have thought of her as the pranker. A joker, maybe, but not one to be looking at things like what he was looking for. A spark rarely seen bursted and flowed easily through Remus, the small touch of mischeif that provided reason to him even being a part of the Marauders. Of course, Remus wasn't nearly as rambuncious as his friends, but a fair amount of knowledge on pranks existed, and it seemed with Marlene that his negative thoughts of being inside the store turned. After all, if she was looking for something, Remus could provide some genius insight on the situation. It would have been in impress, of course, but it made things more enjoyable for him.

It was then that he smiled, gradually walking closer to her, though keeping his focus now on the shelves before them. Products galore were in stock, just about anything that one could have imagined. And as he got closer, he tried sounding as normal as possible in greeting her, allowing a cool, somewhat curious tone pass through his voice. "I don't suppose we're planning on doing some sort of joke, eh?" He teased, and his smile grew a little more. Maybe Hogsmede wasn't that bad on a rainy day.

How many characters do you currently have on this board? Nonee. I think Remus will be my one and only until I get the hang of this place.
Anything else you want to tell us before we begin? I love you? I have a travelling toe, and I was part of a flea circus.

Goals: His biggest goal by far would be to deflate the minds of both James Potter and Sirius Black. Merlin knows how many times he's ended up in trouble, slapped, cursed, hexed, and chased because of them. Not that Remus is completely innocent, and truth be told it is fun, but he refuses to say that he has deserved the amount of oddities that he has recieved over the years. In addition, it can be said that Remus wishes to grow more of a spine for himself. He's weak in the area of saying 'no', which would provide reason as to why he gets in so much trouble. As for yearly goals, discovering what James, Sirius, and Peter are talking about behind his back would be nice. As of late its been quite the nerve-wracker for him.
Fears: Remus is terrified of being abandoned. Losing his friends is something that would send the boy on the edge. For years he has suffered the curse of being alone, locked up in a room with not so much as a soul to talk to. The boy, however, is also terrified of harming his friends. He is somewhat in a paradox as far as his fears go. To make friends would mean facing the chance of hurting them. To save them from monster he thinks he is would mean to be alone.
Tics, Quirks & Habits: He bites his lip when nervous or in thought, puffs his chest when angry, and has at least six chocolate stashes hidden about the school. Remus is notourious for his candy cravings, and will always be seen with something sugary and sweet in his mouth. His obsession with perfection might also count as a quirk.
Pet Peeves: Stink. Remus can not stand any amount of stick. Dorming with Sirius and James during the school years means Remus playing house-wife in cleaning the dorm up, setting sweet-smelling charms, and often staying out all day to keep from vomitting. In addition, he can not stand women who acts like whores, men who believe themselves to be tools, or creepily obsessed women. Sirius Black is the only exception to these things, and even with him will Remus scoff and make crude remarks.
Favorite sounds and smells: His favorite smells consist of vanilla, spice, cedar, leather, old books, and fresh parchment. For reasons he will not dwell on, Remus also enjoys the coppery scent of blood and fresh meat. In the sound department, he is quite fond of the sound of firecrackers and crunching leaves.
Have you ever met a boggart? What does it look like? Remus's boggart takes the shape of the full moon. He discovered this at the age of eight when he and his father tried to get rid of one. It's a terrible thing to him and in a personal aspect represents his abnormality, the fact that he is a beast, and if anyone found out the complete lonliness he felt as a child.
Can you cast Patronus? What does it look like? What memory do you use? After spending so much time on studies, Remus is capable of a Patronus in some cases. It takes the shape of a unicorn, represting something pure and innocent, much what he wishes he was. Remus has yet to find a memory that is sufficient enough to keep the animal for long. Currently he uses the time in his first year when he met James, Peter, and Sirius.
What is the worst memory Dementors bring forward? The god-awful day that Remus was bitten is by far his worst memory. It was a night that changed him forever, and such a memory is one that Remus hates recalling. He can hear his young screams, the tearing, the shredding, everything that makes Lupin's stomach turn.
If you were to find the Mirror of Erised, what would you see? Himself under a full moon, surrounded by friends, and not undergoing the painful process of tranforming. All Remus has wanted in life was to fit in.
Tell me a couple secrets about yourself: His patronus is a unicorn, and Remus has not told a sould about it. Don't laugh. Duing his first year at Hogwarts he had the honor of seeing one while on his monthly night travels. Remus found the creature to be the most pure thing he had ever seen, much unlike himself. It's not gay to like unicorns D< He also, although he will deny it, loves the taste of blood-flavored lollipops. Anything blood-related, in fact. Moreover, he wishes he were more care-free like James and Sirius, he hates Transfiguration, and actually likes the parties that James and Sirius throw (in particular the ones with firewhiskey..) AND WTF, HE'S A WEREWOLF?! O__O
Personality:

  • CHARMING
On first meetings, Remus is capable of sending anyone off their feet. He knows exactly what to say to make someone smile, and socializing is more than a natural trait for the boy. Remus loves people, there’s no denying it. His charming attitude is enough to make one’s heart go aflutter, contributing greatly to his large social circle. He’s sweet, lovable, caring, anything that fits under that category. The kid knows when to listen and when to talk, which in turn makes Remus one of the best companions when problems rear their ugly head. Flirting comes just as natural as speaking, though he catches himself before getting too far. Over the years he has become rather experienced in how to satisfy another, credit to Sirius Black; however, this is something he doesn’t do often. Taking advantage is something Remus would never try. No matter what, he tries to be a gentleman.

  • COURTEOUS
Above anything, Remus tries to be polite. He was raised upon manners, and to this day upholds a code of morals that all males should have. He opens doors, never speaks out of turn, always says please and thank you, along with many other things one could expect from a boy so civil. From his upbringing, Remus has a rather strong sense of what is proper and what isn’t. Like mentioned before, Remus tries his hardest to be a gentleman. He is defiantly the type of boy a mother would want to see their daughter with.

  • GENIUS
It’s a wonder why this boy is not in Ravenclaw. Quick-minded, witty, and sharp would all be ways to describe Remus’s intelligence. He’s a quick learner, but still studies to no end. Lupin excels in almost everything (History of Magic he finds to be his nap-time), yet he bends over backwards for higher levels of perfection. Learning is a hobby of Remus’s; from a young age he could never get enough of it. Books and parchment are close friends of his, and with his natural knack of studies Remus Lupin is nothing short of a genius.

  • FOLKSY
Remus can’t help but be willing to talk to anyone. His friendliness exceeds all in the way he goes about to meet new people, not caring who they might be. He’s more than willing to say hello to whoever happens to be around, resulting in the boy having a fair amount of friends. Remus sets goals for himself to know people better, and for him there is no such thing as knowing too many people. It’s rare when he makes an enemy, but even when he does, Remus still tries to talk to them.

  • CHASTE
It’s somewhat amazing that even at fifteen, Remus has done little to corrupt himself. He remains innocent, modest, and pure- exception being that he runs around blowing things up with James, Sirius, and Peter (which could just be considered immaturity). Other than that, however, Remus has yet to gone very far with his personal life. Anything immodest he is quick to grow uncomfortable around, and he tends to stray from. When it comes down to it, Remus is still childish in the area of relationships, and it’s bound to stay that way unless someone plans to ruin his mind.

  • ALTRUIST
Remus is far more concerned in the welfare of others than himself and carries an unselfish desire to keep others safe. One could be a complete stranger and he would go out of his way to care for them. Of course, this would be why he was placed in Gryffindor. Lupin makes ill habit of putting fellow student‘s needs before his own, to the point where others need to give him fair warning to tend to himself. Reason to this is unknown, though if forced to say, Remus would admit to thinking he is a monster. His belief is that he could harm others, in turn making him want to try to keep them safe. Fellow Marauders are even warned time and time again by dear Moony, with each word of caution growing more irritating by the second, most likely.

  • PARANOID
This flaw in his personality Remus has learned to hide well, though his paranoia of everyone leaving him is always on his mind. The worst thing that Remus fears is loneliness. Entering Hogwarts he was beyond terrified of being an outcast, now sixteen still incapable of letting it go. People may trust Remus with their lives, but he is extremely wary of who he can confide in. Being alone for the smallest amount of time sends Remus’s mind into overdrive, where he thinks of the worst possible happenings and goes about to blame everything on himself. Friends are bountiful for Lupin, but true friends for him are rare.

  • FANATICAL
When meeting someone, this kid sticks like glue to that person. If it be friend or enemy, it doesn’t matter. He is always around, there’s no getting rid of him. Too many years of loneliness have forced Remus to fear of losing those he has grown close to. Even if someone hates him, Remus strives to impress them. He’s fanatical about being around people. The addiction is as bad, for more than once has Remus done things he's regretted. He fears of putting anyone in danger, yet fears more of losing all ties he has with someone.

Looks
Distinguishing Features: Various scars are seen along his collarbone, arms, and legs. When asked Remus will say he fell off a broom as a child. Various other marking are a result of self-infliction during transformations and/or mental, retarded things done with James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew.
Not-so-distinguishing features: From his early years in France, Remus has a light hint of a French accent. Since moving to England it has faded considerably.
Appearance:

  • HAIR
In a way, Remus’s hairstyle is what some might call ‘mousy’. His hair is sandy brown, with minimal streaks of blonde added in with the sun. Although sixteen grays have conquered territory here and there amongst the browns and blondes. Remus has to do little as far as styling goes, for his hair is very fine. Overall, it is straight, with waves only contributed by bed-head or sweat.

  • EYES
If anything, Remus’s eyes are like a mood ring. They are a slate blue, and when sunlight hits them, shades of cerulean and indigo dash across. Almost all of the time they give the impression of him being kind and inviting. More often than not they appear forlorn and weary, contributing greatly to his overall ill appearance. There are times during the month when they grow lighter, as if a fire was sparked within. Remus may be silent, but his eyes give a keen insight in how he feels.

  • COMPLEXION:
Pale and ashen, giving him an ill appearance. Others know when he's sick by the soft tinge of pink coloring his cheeks and a glassy over-lay on his eyes. Remus is pale, though.

  • BUILD:
At 5'7'' and barely at 110 pounds, his lanky figure is almost disgusting to look at. The kid appears to be a walking pile of bones and skin, literally. His current weight is the highest it has ever been. Wind looks is capable of knocking him down, and you will never catch Remus in a fist fight. Muscles, however, do exist for the boy. Although he does little to nothing in keeping a figure, his body is toned, just not up to par compared to other males around him.

  • STYLE:
No matter how hard he tries, Remus Lupin does give the impression of not being the richest boy about the school. He is clean-cut and modest in looks to the highest extremes, though patches here and there are visible within his wardrobe. From a young age the male learned that buying new clothes was a waste of money, and as he got older learned to think in such ways. Compared to most he is presentable, perhaps a little ragged, but clean.

Place of Birth: Les Mans, France
Immediate family: Tara and John Lupin, his parents. After the attack Mr. and Mrs. Lupin both agreed that another child in the family would be impossible, and thus Remus is an only child.
Extended family: None
Other important people: James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew are all family to him.
Pets: Remus and animals do not mix well.
History:
On March 10th, 1960, Remus John Lupin was born to John and Tara Lupin. He grew up happy as ever, enjoying the magical community of wizards and witches alike in a Le Mans, France. Remus was never a bad child, and his parents couldn’t have asked for a better son. His progress from infant to toddler went smooth, as did toddler to child. What happened to the young Lupin as a small boy was extremely unexpected.

Fenrir Greyback was far from human. Being a werewolf, his attacks and bites on children or adults were close to fatal. A monster in human flesh, he purposely set himself near children before his ugly transformation began. He focused on youths in the hopes of raising them into monsters like himself. Upon his travels, Fenrir ran into John Lupin, who in more than one way insulted the half-breed. Anger boiled over to the highest extremes, and Fenrir called for revenge.

At the age of five, Remus Lupin was attacked by Fenrir. Somehow the man had tracked down where the Lupin’s resided, and used a small boy’s natural instinct of curiosity to lure him out of the house. In the woods, Remus was assaulted and bitten. In the morning his parents discovered the disappearance of their son and searched high and low. Young Remus was found covered in blood with three bite wounds spanning across his chest and arms.

Tara and John rushed him to St Mungo’s within an hour. For weeks Remus remained in the hospital, suffering broken bones and fractures and the fear of what had happened. When he discovered what he had become, the boy of five could only break down in tears. There was no cure for his disease. Remus was a werewolf, and would remain one until he died. Precautions were taken to keep Remus and others safe. The first was the Lupin’s move to England, where trips to St Mungo's would be quicker, and the building of a metal shed in their backyard. Each month Remus went in the shed and fulfilled his transformations there.

Remus grew lonely by the time he was seven. For the first two years he was far too weak to go out, and even when he had grown used to his affliction, many children shunned him. Remus learned to give up on friends, though deep down it was his greatest desire to make at least one. He secluded himself from the world, only talking to his parents. It was in this period of loneliness that Remus picked up books. They seemed to be his only escape. Remus recalls his early years to be his worst. Thinking of these times sends him into a fit of depression.
As Remus grew older, fear of where he could learn arose. Now ten, Remus had also lost hope in going to school. He was a monster, a threat to anyone who happened to be near him. Tara and John talked to headmasters and mistresses alike in hopes of having them consider, all attempts denied until they reached Dumbledore. Unlike the others who had automatically denied Remus of his education, Albus Dumbledore welcomed the boy with open arms. The Hogwarts headmaster took extra precautions to accommodate young Lupin. These included the building of the Shrieking Shack, a boarded up home where Remus was to transform, and the planting of the Whomping Willow on school grounds, planted on top of a secret pathway to the Shack.

Remus was happier than he had been in his entire life when he stepped foot on the Hogwarts Express. Friends, however, was still something he lacked. For the first few weeks of his entering the school, Remus continued to seclude himself from others. He would have continued to do so if a certain Sirius Black hadn’t asked for help in Charms work. It didn’t take long for Remus to also meet James Potter and Peter Pettigrew, and by the year’s end Remus knew he had friends. His lycanthropy he continued to hide though, dismissing himself from the three for his monthly turnings and passing them off as colds.

James, Sirius, and Peter were not stupid. Without having Remus tell them, the three discovered what afflicted their friend and confronted him about it days after. Remus nearly broke down in tears at their discovery, thinking they would spread the word of him being a monster and never speak to him again. To this day Remus is unsure what to think of that day. Although he and the others remain friends, Remus still feels a little wary as to how things will work out. Lately Lupin has been feeling excluded from day-to-day conversation, creating some sense of nervousness for the boy. Nonetheless, the three remain to be his best friends ever. Remus just hopes that it stays that way.

Now entering his fifth year, Remus serves as friend to many. He is currently a prefect for Gryffindor house, to his belief to keep his friends in line. This hasn’t quite worked out, but that is hardly on the boy’s mind.
Misc
Hai.

Couple things to be changed before Fox gets online. Actually, really, just one thing to be changed.

The Marauders are not yet animagi. Remus and Sirius have their nicknames already, but James and Peter don't. Furthermore... the Marauders are trying to keep it secret from Remus. Operation Mr. Snuffles, I believe, is what they use when talking about their transformation attempts. Remus might have heard that, but they deny that it is an actual Marauder operation. They only talk about it when Remus is out of the room, sometimes stopping abruptly when he walks in.

Accepted on a trial period. Don't be too concerned about that. You have a couple of weeks to prove that you can handle being a main character, but based on your application I'd say you wont have a problem.

Congratulations, Remus.

Sorry, Nikky, but the reason we wanted a new Remus was because the old Remus rarely showed up. And you... never showed up. We gave you a week, haven't seen you at all, so we're going to look for a new Remus.

Booted for inactivity.
