About You
What should we call you? GEM, QUEEN OF THE BEAVERS
What is your gender? Assume away.
How can we get in touch with you? By poking.
How did you know we were here? The effervescent neopets.
Did you read all of the rules? For the sake of my character being accepted, let's say yes. :$ JUST JOKING GUYS. Hardeehar. Of course, of course.
Show us a sample post, from any game. A recent one would be nice. Doesn’t have to be the character you’re applying for.

A bushy-haired brunette huffed and puffed as she put her trunk in the overhead compartment of the Hogwarts Express. The trunk safely secured, she plopped down into the seat, her arms rather tired from carrying the trunk. It was far too heavy! Everything in there was absolutely essential though… One never knew when you might need Hogwarts: A History or back issues of The Quibbler and Daily Prophet! Hermione Granger believed in nothing if not being prepared! Besides, she reasoned, she only had to carry her trunk twice a year, and then she’d have access to all those important resources year round. Yes, there was no question of the necessity or practicality of it. She pulled out the Standard Book of Spells Grade 6, and began to skim. She’d been through it before, but it was fascinating! This year was sure to be a challenge.

How many characters do you currently have on this board? Two, if ol' Sluggy is accepted.
Anything else you want to tell us before we begin? Doris and Delores are the love child of a very late night on the c-box with Cait. Oh, and this smiley is just too cute not to put somewhere.
:'( <--- That's me, when I think of how tired I am as I write this xD

Have you ever met a boggart? What does it look like?
I see boggarts 'round the house sometimes... they usually look like ghouls, which is bad enough, but sometimes they look like me, only I'm having a fit like mum. Those ones are really scary.

Can you cast Patronus? What does it look like? What memory do you use?
No, I can't cast one. It sucks, I really wish I could see what animal I got! If I did cast a Patronus, I'd probably use the memory of the first time I met Dolly. Or maybe of my fam's vacation to Spain before Mum got sick.

What is the worst memory Dementors bring forward?
The time I met a dementor (can you meet a dementor? see? hmm... whatever) was one of the worst days of my life. It brought back three strong memories. The first was the day of Mummy's first fit. I was there to watch her raging and crying and just being totally crazy. The second was when Daddy told me Mummy wouldn't get better, and these fits would happen more and more often. I had thought Healers were invincible, that they could take care of anything. How could they send my dear Mummy home sick? The third memory was when I overhead Daddy talking to his friend, saying it was possible Mummy passed her sickness to me. That was the worst. That's the one that still makes me cry.

If you were to find the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
Me and Reggie, married, with a baby in his arms and another in my belly! I'd be totally healthy, and have no worry of getting sick, and my mouth wouldn't be so big. Mummy and Daddy would be behind me, and Mummy would be all fine and smiling again, and Daddy would be looking at her like he used to. Oh, and Dolly and I would both be the BEST Co-Ministers of Magic ever!!

Tell me a couple secrets about yourself:
Well, I'm kinda head-over-heels for one Regulus Black. Not that anyone knows, of course!! It's is strictly on the down-low, as in down-low between me and Dolly. He's just so cute, and handsome, and nice, and smart, and cool, and perfect. Seriously, is there anyone more perfect and manly than Reggie? I don't think so. Though Dolly would disagree and say Peter. *giggle* I don't really have other secrets... Though Mummy's "condition" is mostly kept a secret. Daddy doesn't want anyone to know what's really wrong, so we just say she's feeling blue. Whatever. Everyone knows what that means. OH AND I WRITE POEMS TO REGGIE IN MY SPARE TIME. But that one's a BIG secret! Wanna hear one? OKAY! I worked really hard on it, using my thesaurus and stuff, so don't say mean things about it!

R is for regal, coz you are a lord
E is for exciting, coz you're never bored
G is for great, because you just are
U is for ubiquitous, coz you're never far
L is for love, which is how I feel bout you
U is for unicorn, coz' I love them too
S is for sexy, which you emanate

B is for baby, coz' that is our fate
L is for lucky, something y'are for sure
A is for awesome, you make me wanna purr
C is for compassion, you let the hatchet be buried
K is for the kisses we'll share when we're married!

Personality: Hmmm... well people say I'm bubbly. I'm usually quite happy, and I really like to laugh. I look on the bright side of things whenever I can, and I'm always up for an adventure! I'm outgoing, but not nearly as outgoing as Dolly, so I take a quieter role in our friendship. She bosses me around a bit, but that's okay. I love her, and I kinda like that I don't always have to look out for myself. I know Dolly has my best interests at heart! People sometimes say I'm annoying, but usually they just direct their insults to Dolly. I'm more in the background... Oh, I'm kinda bad at school... Charms is okay, but my other subjects are awful. It's because I'd rather be doing something fun (like watching Reggie) than study. But that's okay too. Daddy says once I finish school, I just need to marry the right kind of man and I'll be okay. Reggie will be simply perfect!!

The only tiny worry is Mummy's... blue periods. I can't really find the silver lining there. There is no silver lining, or pink lining, or green lining, or any other lining you can think of. There is only insanity. I try not to think about it too much, because it makes me cry, but it's hard not to. It's such a big thing in my life... It's why I don't really write home or look forward to holidays. Somehow, in the letters, Mummy always comes up. And on holidays, she's right THERE, reminding me of what could happen. Daddy's stuck with her, because she has most of the money, but if that happened to me Reggie would leave! He could take care of himself. I just can't get sick. I've promised myself! It'll be okay, really. I just have to be positive. But just in case, I'm making the most of what I have now. Sooo, if it doesn't happen on its own, I'm just going to have to go snog Reggie myself!

Looks
Distinguishing Features: Well I'm very tall, and I have quite a few moles. Other than that, I'm pretty average.

Not-so-distinguishing features: I look kinda horse-like, and, when I'm excited, I walk like that too. I "trot", apparently. Also, I'm a bit wobbly. I bump into things. Not in the cute-damsel-in-distress way, but in the oafish way.

Appearance: I am tall to the max. Well, I s'pose not INSANELY tall. I'm only maybe a half inch higher than Regulus... but that's a half-inch too much! Hopefully he'll grow soon... Anyways, I'm quite tall, and very thin, surprising since I stuff my face at any occasion. I lack any sort of womanly curves, and am rather bony. My skin is white, with unfortunate yellow undertones, and is dotted with loads of moles. I have really long, wavy brown hair, which I think is my best feature. I don't really need to put any product in it, it's beautiful on it's own. My bangs are cut straight cross my forehead, and neatly hide my eyebrows. My hair reminds me of a princess!! : ) The rest of me isn't overly pretty (I'm not awful though!), but my hair makes up for it.

My face is kind of horsey, like I said. I have quite a big mouth and big teeth. My nose is normal sized, but looks small compared to the rest of my face. My eyes, like my mouth, are quite large, and hazel-coloured. My ears are smaller than average, though no one really notices such things. Speaking of things no one notices, my hands are quite delicate looking. Oh, how I went them to be held in Reggie's strong, masculine hands! Heehee!

Outside of robes, I'm very fond of simple skirts and sweaters. I occasionally wear jeans, but I find skirts make me look more feminine! I really like all sorts of sweaters, provided they're warm. I'm chronically cold, so I need a sweater to keep me cozy (since I don't have Reg to do it)! Dolly calls pink, so I usually wear purple or blue, though I'm not entirely attached to one particular colour. I like wearing my outside of school clothes, because I think they make my face look less "unique". Being told you have a unique face is never a good thing, I swear.

Place of Birth: Belfast, Northern Ireland (but we moved to London after Mum's first fit)

Immediate family: Mummy and Daddy. Mummy was quite nice, but not anymore, and Daddy tries his best, but he has a hard time of it. I love them terribly. At least, I know I should love Mummy. I do love Daddy though.
Extended family: Auntie Leona is Mummy's sister, and she's wonderful! She comes over during the holidays and plays with me, and Mummy's always a bit better when she's around. Plus, she gives Daddy a chance to relax, so we're all happier when Auntie Leona is around. She has one son, but he's off doing something important for the Ministry! Daddy has two brothers, but we don't really see them.

Other important people: Well there are two people who are SOOO important to me, and they are Dolly and Reggie! Dolly (Dolores Umbridge) is my absolute bestest friend in all the world, and Reggie (Regulus Black) is my one and only true love. When I think about life without either of them I get really sad. They are super important to me, and if I didn't have them I'd be nothing!!! They are just awesome!

Pets: I have a tabby cat named Yarnie, because she likes to play with yarn. I know it's dumb, but I named her when I was five, and now she won't answer to anything else!

History:
I was born in Belfast, and I lived there till I was nine. I loooove Belfast, and that's where Reggie and I are going to live! In a big beautiful mansion... But I digress (that is the word, right?). I grew up in a nice house, with nice respectable pure-blood parents, and a good amount of money. Of course, not as much as Dolly, but we got by. Mummy had quite a fortune on her side of the family, so we pretty much did what we wanted. We travelled lots, and ate lots of sweets, and were a happy family. I never had any siblings, and I'm not sure why, but I never complained. I got Yarnie when I was five, for my birthday, and that was a wonderful day. Everything seemed just perfect. My parents enchanted me with stories of Hogwarts and I couldn't wait!! I had some other pureblood friends, but most of our family friends lived in England, so I got quite lonely sometimes.

When I was seven Mummy started acting funny. Well actually, she'd been acting funny for a while, but I didn't really notice til I was seven. One day, a Sunday in the spring, she just went totally crazy. Absolutely barking, really. I don't remember that much about it, and Daddy got me out of there really fast, but she started talking to people and things that weren't there and screaming and crying and flailing and it was awful, awful, awful. After that things got very uncomfortable. Our few friends stopped coming by, Aunt Leona came out, and we decided to move to London so Mummy could be near St Mungo's. We moved to a smaller house, and Daddy got kinda quiet and distant. Mummy kept having these little fits, with increasing frequency. It started off maybe once every two or three months, but now it's a weekly thing. So you can see why I don't like going home.

The years between moving to London and Hogwarts weren't very happy, but my years at Hogwarts certainly have been! I met Dolly on the train, and we were both sorted into Slytherin, which was awesome!! My whole family's been in Slytherin for ages. I've had SOOO much fun in this school! I still remember the first time I saw Reggie. He went up to the Sorting Hat near the beginning, with the last name Black, and when I set my eyes on him I couldn't stop staring. He was just so beautiful. Anyways, since then, Dolly and I have been having our adventures! Reggie hasn't admitted his love for me yet, but it's only a matter of time. He is, after all, only 14, and everyone knows girls mature faster than boys. Until then, I'll be waiting, scheming with Dolly! Ta-ta!

Misc
Anything else you want to share? Hmm... well people sometimes tell me I'm annoying, but I'm not, I promise!! Oh, and, if I am accepted, could my personal space please be called "Doris P's thoughts on Love and Life - Starring Dors, Dolly, and Reggie". =)

Reggie refuses to acknowledge your apology. He's sulking.
