Walking swiftly past the tables of rich silk, filled with mountains of fresh cheeses, wines and assorted fruits, a lovely figured woman, as all were in that day, made her way to the corner of the immense room. The corner was dimly lit and as she leaned against the cool stone wall, she breathed a sigh of relief from pouty lips, painted a devilish shade of red that would surely be wiped clean
the moment she took a sip from the glass she was holding. Fanning herself with her naked hand, she took a swift sip of the liquid, immediately grateful she had picked up a cup of wine from one of the servants and not a more foreign drink. She tipped the contents down her throat, finishing off the glass and reveling the fact that her thirst was quieter now. A faint blush, however,
crept onto her fair complexion, as it did to most inexperienced young women, after a full glass of a heavy bodied merlot. Lifting herself quietly from the wall, she made her way back to one of the tables pilled with offerings of all sorts and took a piece of a rather unusual color of cheese. Although inexperienced in many areas, including the current, her cousin, the Duke of Wyyvern,
had many a time recounted his exploits of a nights drinking, cursing often his lack of food intake. She smiled as she reached for a rolled piece of ham, enjoying almost too much, the ability to eat with her hands. Making sure not to wipe any of the delicious foods oils onto her pristine white gown,
she daintily wiped her hands on a cloth napkin, folded intricately in a basket on the edge of the table. She smiled, feeling better as the seconds continued to count towards the end of the night. It was the last ball she was to attend, before leaving on a 4 day journey to her home in Birkstead, a small town, where she was freer to be the young lady that she was.
No more fancy shoes, which ached her poor feet, nor the blasted corsets, which she had soon developed a distaste for, the moment she arrived in the city. No longer having to pretend to chat with the foolish girls that attended these evenings, nor faint an interest in gossip. However the most horrid idea she was glad to escape from, was that of her mothers.
It was most definitely her intent upon sending her to visit her cousin, to have her wed in the short 3 weeks she had spent here with him. Ball after ball, being courted by the young men of high society, them not only being richly deluded in the fact that she was a country girl with no wealth to her name, but highly appalling dancers as well. She wasn't classically trained in the art of ballet,
but she did have some sense of rhythm and timing. She turned an emerald eye down to the floor where the smallest toe on her left foot still ached from being stepped on a dozen times. Imagine the idea of her being married at the ripe age of seventeen. Its true, many young women has been married earlier, even most at her own age, but a marriage was not particularly on her list of things to do.
Smiling her curved, now pink lips in a ravishing smile, she held in her laughter as her cousin, after finishing a dance with the widow Lavern, was bombarded by at least a dozen ladies, vying for his attention. She saw the quick roll of this amber eyes, and his desperate, although futile attempts, to divulge his attention otherwise. He was, it was said, to be among the top 5 bachelors this year,
having just inherited his late uncle’s inheritance, complete with manor and many acres of land. His title of duke remained, only his wealth and power, seemed to have seeped throughout the ball, and now he was as much the flame, as the women were the moths. Stepping lightly from her hiding place behind the table of food, she swept her gown in one hand,
gracefully stepping through the throngs of ladies and into her cousin’s arms. "I’m afraid" she spoke softly "that his lordship has promised this dance to me". Her voice had the sweet naivety of a young girl, and yet the harsh tone that none of the girls dared to protest, thus she was swept off her feet, the gown swiveling around her tight frame, catching in places as she turned and finally settling,
almost luminous against her skin as they began a slower song."Great thanks cousin" The duke smiled as he knocked the corner of her chin with a soft punch, lighter than a whisper, he was no fool, his little cousin was perfectly fragile, small in frame, with smoldering emerald eyes that more often than not glared at his person.
Her lips soft, no one would dare guess the curses shouted at him from them, in there more heated disagreements. Her skin was fair, her hair dark, darker than brown and it hung in loose curls to the top most part of her rump. Yes she was a sight alright, a sight he had hoped to marry off, at the best wishes of his mothers sister of course. Yet to her, none were good enough,
and for now that suited him just fine. As highly placed some of the men were amongst the court, he had known them since his youth and in so, learning the lecherous thoughts some of them possessed. The mere thought of his cousin in their presence sent a chill down his spine. How he would hate to leave her.
"...and he was the most appalling dancer. Will are you listening? Will?"
A quick poke in the chest awoke him from his thoughts, a crooked smile playing on his face. He had missed another complaint about the lands finest. "Sorry moppet" he spoke, twirling her around the room once again, not missing the looks she received from many of the young men there. Rolling his eyes he began again
" I’m dreadfully sorry, the lord of Calp is not, how should I say, up to par with his dancing skill M'lady?" he mocked her, swinging her from side to side, imitating the dance he had seen her engaged in previously."Honestly William, I thought it customary for a young man to have learned to dance. It is such with young ladies, why then should you have the luxury of..." she was cut off by his rough,
calloused hand, covering her soft mouth. "Ah Delilah, I do not wish to be here all night, I for one, agree with you, as I have said many times before, about the rights of men and women. However im afraid I have some more serious business to discuss with you." As the song ended, hopeful eyes looked at the duke, as well as his cousin from the sides of the floor, seeing this,
the duke of Wyyvern spun his cousin into the middle of the dance floor and begun a new song. A look of worry flashed across her eyes. Could something be wrong at home? Did another man wish the court her into marriage? Was her dress transparent? She quickly looked behind her, although some eyes followed them across the dance floor, none were mocking.
She looked up into the amber orbs of her cousin, wondering. "It seems, Delilah, that I’ve been called away on business, and before you begin giving me ideas on staying here in the city alone, or traveling an entire 4 days un chaperoned, ill stop you there." Delilah pouted, she had begun to suggest both of his options, having been shut down on the only two reasonable options she saw, she waited, a pout all the while playing on her delicate lips.

I can produce some silver mist. It looks like silver mist. I use the memory of my first kiss. –sigh-

What is the worst memory Dementors bring forward?
-I’ve never met a Dementor, and I don’t plan on it. (But it would probably be sometime last November in Care of Magical Creatures class. We were looking at something slimy I think, I don’t know, I wasn’t paying attention, Sirius had just dropped a stink pellet down Snapes trousers… anyway, It started to rain like mad, so we all dashed back towards the school and I didn’t have time to change, so I had to go to transfiguration looking like a drowned rat.)

If you were to find the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
- To be honest here,( I’m blushing ) probably Sirius looking at me the way I’ve looked at him for the past four years.

Tell me a couple secrets about yourself:
-I am completely head over heels in love with Sirius Black, have been since the first time I saw him on the Hogwarts train. I wish I didn’t feel this way, I wish I wasn’t like every other girl at this school who’s fallen for his charms. It’s no fair, I should be immune.

-I was afraid I would get sorted into Slytherin.

-The one and only time I ever tried a Bertie Botts Every Flavored Bean was when I was eight years old. It was Toe Nail flavored. I haven’t had one since.

Personality:

I really enjoy being the center of attention. I’m not a shy person, I’m loud and outspoken. I make my opinions herd, and known widely. I’m a little self centered, I think I’m great looking, and I’m not afraid to use that to my advantage. You can call it whatever you want, it works for me.
Besides being infatuated with Sirius Black, I’m a little (A Lot) obsessed with the male population in general. I have eleven posters of muggle and wizard celebrities on the walls of my dorm. Like I said, I love the attention, and its second nature to me to be a huge flirt. So I spend most of my time charming the boys at Hogwarts to help me with things, and the vast majority of the time it works. Especially on Pettigrew, though it’s a task flirting with him, he kind of makes my stomach churn.
I’d say I’m acceptably adventurous for a Gryffindor, minus the whole heights thing. I thrive on challenges; maybe that’s why I love potions so much. I have a bit of a temper, I’m a tad too picky and I speak before thinking.

Looks

Distinguishing Features: Probably just the intense pale blonde of my hair.
Not-so-distinguishing features: My generous eyes.

Appearance:
I’m an average height, 5’7, and I hope I don’t grow too much more. I like my height, most of the boys are just starting to outgrow me, but I’d like my prince charming to have a fair few inches on me. This way, I can wear heels if need be, and he’ll still have the height. I have a slight obsession with the perfect couple in my mind. My prince MUST be taller than me.

I have super pale skin and hair, thanks to my grams, and I love it. I purposely stay out of the sun to keep my skin the shade it is. I don’t like being in the sun, and this one time we went on vacation to Ireland and let me warn you: there are NO trees there. I had to carry an umbrella everywhere I went, thank goodness for the ever changing weather and sudden storms. The locals would have questioned my sanity a bit I think.
My hair is immeasurably long, it’s gotten past the dip in my back now, and it’s pale. Blonder than most, it’s almost white. I think it prettier than that Malfoy boy’s, although people often compare it.
My eyes are HUGE, sometimes I like them, and other times I don’t. What I don’t like is the blonde eyelashes that frame them. I always wear mascara; otherwise I think I look like I have this muggle disease (Albinism).
Other than the fact that I wear mascara to avert the Albino look, I’m gorgeous. This may seem a little self centered and presumptuous but being a quarter Veela has its perks. So being this stunning (okay, now I’m just showing off), I like to play it up. I’m not one to hide in the shadows. Front and center, spotlight on me is where I like to be. So I make sure I always look good, from head to toe. It’s a little difficult with the generic black robes we have to wear, but on holidays and when we have free reign over our clothing choices, I really enjoy wearing the latest muggle fashions.(Although I don’t agree with this tie-dye movement.)

Place of Birth: Staffordshire, England.
Immediate family: Clara Knight is my mom, she is a nurse at a hospital back home. My father, Algernon Lyons works for the Ministry of Magic, in the department of international magical co operations.
Extended family: Arabella Knight --- My grandmother and a Veela.(She’s still gorgeous)
Other important people: My great great great…great grandmother was Gunhilda of Gorsemoor. (Gorsemoor is what Staffordshire used to be called.) She was a celebrated healer and invented the cure for dragon pox.
Pets: None as of yet.
History:
It’s pretty basic. I popped into this world on May 6th, 1960. I was most definitely a planned baby. I have no other siblings to speak of. My mother didn’t know yet that my father was a wizard and growing up we spent all of our holidays with my mother’s side. I remember when I was nine we spent our first Christmas with Grandma Lyons. I recall certain things, decorations mostly; it was unlike any Christmas I’d ever seen. The tree was bigger and fatter than any I’d ever laid my eyes on and the stack of presents underneath made my heart skip a beat. I got my very first magical gifts that year, sweets from Honeydukes, an excellent set of wizard chess, a couple books with strange names as well, that I didn’t fully understand until a few years later. Well after the presents, the truth kind of just slowly came out. At first my mom thought my dad was heavily into the occult. It took a lot of convincing, explaining and demonstrating that it wasn’t like that at all. It was real magic, and my dad was a real wizard. I remember him spinning on place, apparating from the dinning room to the kitchen, and then into the living room. I can’t wait to take my apparition test. My mother took to it better than most muggles, being a healer she was sort of used to science, facts that sort of thing. She couldn’t argue with what she saw, so she accepted it and we’ve moved forwards ever since.

Misc
Anything else you want to share?
For the whole Sirius thing, could you like not tell him? I pretty much try to hide the fact that I’ve completely fallen for him, by ignoring his pranks and paying closer attention to his pals. I know he assumes every girl in this bloody castle is hot for him, and he has the general idea, but I think over the past four years I’ve made it pretty clear that I disapprove of everything he does. So he doesn’t know, or, he does, I don’t know it’s complicated. I’m just going to continue to pretend I loathe him and his childish pranks, but continue to flirt with James, Remus and Peter every chance I get.

I'm going to be honest. Florence scares me. The way you have her written, she's borderline Sue.

On the other hand... I LOVE HER. You've nailed the shallow, superficial, boy-crazy type of girl perfectly.

I'm going to accept her. I think she deserves the benefit of the doubt.
