About You
What should we call you? Delilah's my name; but, yaknow, I'm not picky as to what you call me, soo. (x

What is your gender? Female.

How can we get in touch with you? PM, pretty please.

How did you know we were here? I was directed here by one of you lovely admins.

Did you read all of the rules? What a silly question. Of course I did.

Show us a sample post, from any game. A recent one would be nice. Doesn’t have to be the character you’re applying for.

The telltale scowl plastered across her younger brother’s face was enough to tell Chrissy that something was pissing him off; she took the liberty of following his gaze, light eyes falling on the small form of one Alicia Spinnet. The damn girl was, apparently, offending Max in some shape or form. Then again, knowing him, she could be simply breathing the wrong way, and it’d piss him off to a sodding mess. Either way, she knew Max well enough to know that he was probably already contemplating how many bludgers to send her way during the upcoming Quidditch match. He had an awful habit of expressing his distaste in an unreasonable fashion, and this situation wasn’t liable to be any different. If anything, she felt more sorry for Alicia than anything; as easy as it was to get on Max’s bad side, it definitely wasn’t any walk in the park being there, unless you knew how to deal with him properly. Hell, Chrissy had known him for years, and even then, it was difficult to tolerate him when he was in one of his ‘fuck all’ tantrums.

Clearly, whatever conversation they had yet to embark on was going absolutely nowhere with someone as offensive as Alicia Spinnett breathing down their necks at such a close proximity. Chrissy had just opened her mouth to suggest he either get over it or go elsewhere when he stood abruptly, flipping off Spinnett one last time before informing her they were going to make their exit. Under any other circumstances, she would most likely pull a face, gripe a little that breakfast was, in fact, the most important meal of the day, but the expression on his face advised against it. He was being serious, for Merlin’s sake. Christelle had grown to learn that whenever something was genuinely bothering him, it was massively important. He didn’t let much get to him, so when something did, it was a momentous occasion. The brunette paused long enough to give Alicia a narrowed look before turning to follow Max out the Great Hall, deciding that getting the details on this Parker girl was well worth relocating, for the time being.

The rush of cold air was enough to send a shiver down Chrissy’s spine as Max pushed open the doors to the grounds, and her slender fingers pulled the sleeves of her sweatshirt farther down to cover her hands completely. The winter months had left the Hogwarts ground looking barren, desolate, for the most part, of the rolling green hills and groups of laughing students she normally associated with school. She could still remember almost every detail of every year she’d spent in the castle’s halls, ever since she’d turned eleven and had arrived as only a first year. It wasn’t only just the fact that she had an impeccable memory; for her, Hogwarts had been a sanctuary, more of a home than the Brossard residence in Scotland had ever been. It was here she’d really figured out that life didn’t always have to be one, big fuck-up, like Andre had practically drilled into them since the day they were born.

According to father dearest, there was one certain, set path you had to follow; the minute you strayed from that, you were screwed, a failure, a waste of space. As children, Max and Chrissy hadn’t know any other life than Andre’s impossible expectations. If you didn’t do as he asked, it hurt, and that’d been ingrained into them since they were small. Rebellion came with age, though, and starting her time at Hogwarts had been what triggered her hatred for her father the most. The concept that most of her fellow classmates had spent their childhood loved and well-cared for, while theirs had been full of pain and fear; it was what really set her off. What had herself and her brother, and even Pandora, ever done to deserve such a life? Nothing. Resentment and revulsion had only sparked from there, and that’s where it had all started. If it hadn’t been for Hogwarts...she wasn’t quite sure what life would be like for her, right now.

Fleeting thoughts such as these darted in and out of her mind as she followed Max across the dry grass, eyes absently falling on what she recognized as his favorite birch tree before flitting back to his hunched form. A cigarette was already lit and up to his lips; she wrinkled her nose, though refraining from commenting. Disgusting. Chrissy might have told him so, except, he started talking again, resuming the conversation they’d started only moments before in the Great Hall as if they hadn’t been interrupted at all. She was accustomed to his abrupt behavior, at this point, and settled to listen, as she’d always been more than capable of doing. Her light eyes continued to follow him as he began to pace without even seeming to realize he was doing it; and, still, he talked on, the words practically falling out of his mouth of their own accord. It was when he trailed off, looking at her expectantly, that he finally met her gaze. Chrissy paused, for a moment, mulling everything over before she responded.

“First off,” she started. “It’s not the end of the world, Max. You’re acting like the fact that you actually like someone, more than you’re used to, is a death sentence. Normal people do relationships all the time. You know. Getting emotionally attached.” She refrained from saying that, often times, the Brossards had shied away from what normal people did, especially when it came to relationships. Herself and Max were alike, in that sense. “And, frankly, there’s not much to explain.” Her eyes sought for his, again, making sure he was paying attention. “Aye. You like her. It’s not like you have to propose to the girl. It’s one date. One kiss. Take it one step at a time. You’re over-analyzing it the whole thing; try not to think about it, so much.” Chrissy finished, eyeing him carefully, trying to gauge his reaction to his words. Normally, she was able to easily predict how Max would respond in any given situation; this, however, was clearly a different story altogether.

How many characters do you currently have on this board? Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Anything else you want to tell us before we begin? Uh. The history is shorter than it was originally cos my power died cos of a thunderstorm and all of it went goodbye. So. I had to rewrite it and it's not half as good as it was before but. Yaknow. Yeah. (: It suits the purpose enough, I spose.

About Your Character

Basics

Full name: Lily Marie Evans
Nicknames: "Oh, God. I don't think I can even list them all off the top of my head. I suppose the most common would be the variations of my name; Lils, Lil, Evans, etc. I've been called Red, for obvious reasons. The list goes on, and, to be absolutely honest, I'd rather spare myself the energy."
Ancestry: "Muggleborn, and proud of it, mind you."
Gender: "Female."
Age: "Far enough into fifteen."
Birthday: January 30th, 1960.
Sorted into: "I've been told I'm a Gryffindor, through and through. Honestly, I couldn't see myself being sorted into any other house."
Who do you follow? "I don't like using the term follow; I like to think on my own, thanks. This war, I suppose, is unavoidable; when the time comes to choose a side, I'd certainly never consider joining the ranks of the Death Eaters, especially given my blood status and the amount of...grief I've been given over the years, due to the students siding with their lot."
Wand: "10 1/4 inches, made of willow. I've been told it's excellent for Charms work, especially."

Personal
Sexuality: "Absolutely and positively straight. I'll just assume those like Potter are only a blight on the Y chromosome."

Have you ever met a boggart? What does it look like?
"I haven't met a boggart, no. My worst fear is letting everyone down, not living up to their expectations; my boggart would probably, somehow, portray that."

Can you cast Patronus? What does it look like? What memory do you use?
"I've recently learnt how. Mine's a doe; the last thing I would have ever expected it to be, to be completely honest. I think of when I first got my Hogwarts letter. That's probably one of the most happiest memories I've got, so far."

What is the worst memory Dementors bring forward?
"The summer after my first year, Petunia and I...had an awful fight. She couldn't understand why I couldn't just quit magic; that's how she put it. She wanted nothing more than to be normal, and what I was to her was an embarassment. She hates me for it, and even though I ought not care what she thinks, I wish she didn't. I care about her, even if she doesn't care for me."

If you were to find the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
"Me, surronded by my friends and family, happy. That's all I want; I think blood purity is...an awful reason, to start a war."

Tell me a couple secrets about yourself:
"I pretend like I don't, but sometimes, I care about what people think of me far more than I should. I'm afraid I won't live up to everyone's expectations. I'm too stubborn for my own good, and I don't like to admit that I'm wrong, even when I know I might be."

Personality:
Lily Evans is most known as being a perfectionist. It’s nearly a fixation, because she always feels the need for things to be just so. You’d rarely find her sitting down and relaxing, because it makes her uncomfortable when something that needs to be done is, well, not done. Even if she’s excited or in high spirits, she’s constantly making lists, cleaning the house, organizing her closet; anything to keep her hands busy. The constant need to be clean can make her easy to live with as well, because, yes, she’s the one that will volunteer to clean that dreaded bathroom when nobody else wants to. She can be a smidge obsessive when it comes to getting everything done and done right.

She also has the tendency to be horrible clever and witty. Being intelligent is very important to her, and the constant desire to learn new things helps her to do well academically. This can be her downfall, however, mainly because she doesn’t often think about things before she says them. Some people consider her a know-it-all, and in reality, she sort of is. She’s not afraid to tell anyone when their wrong, and strongly believes in her own opinions. If anything, you might say she can be biased at times, and has her own morals that nobody can change.

She was placed into Gryffindor for a reason, for she does possess bravery. Even though Lily can be dreadfully impulsive, she doesn’t often think about her own well-being, but more about everyone else’s. She’s constantly putting herself in other people’s shoes. However, one of the things she fears the most is feeling vulnerable and helpless, and she has the affinity to try and make everything better, even if it’s impossible to do. Therefore, it’s not uncommon to see her poking into things that aren’t her business, because she takes it upon herself to be the designated peace-maker and make everybody happy, even if she’s not.

The young woman is also extremely responsible and trustworthy. At Hogwarts, amongst her friends, she has always been somewhat of a motherly figure. She possesses very strong maternal instincts, particularly around the people she cares about, and whenever anybody she’s close to is put in immediate danger or in an unpleasant situation, she’s most likely to take charge. Perhaps this is why she feels the desire to have a family; because she’d probably be a damn good mother, and she knows it.

Lily also likes to appear confident, and likes knowing what’s going on in advance. However, she can be extremely insecure, especially if she feels confused with herself, and will often draw herself in a shell when she’s in one of those moods. Like everyone, she has her good days, and her bad days. She has her own circle of friends, and is normally easily likeable, unless she’s in one of her bad moods. There are only few people known to able to tolerate her in her worst moments.

She can be extremely sympathetic, and isn’t afraid to make friends with the more browbeaten and pathetic characters, as proved by her friendship with one Severus Snape. Perhaps meeting him, and learning of his unfortunate experiences at home and around his family shaped her to be this way. Again, she can be quite motherly and maternal, and feels the desire to inspire hope in those who have none, even if she isn’t as optimistic regarding herself. She possesses a fierce ability to love and show compassion, and has a tendency to be horribly protective of those she’s close to. Loyalty is also extremely important to her as well; betrayal, in her book, is one of the worst offenses a person can make. That being said, sometimes she can be overly protective, overly clingy, because one of the things she fears the most is being left alone. As many times as her friends have told her otherwise, she still has the lingering doubt that at one point, they’ll all become sick of her, and decide to leave for good.

Anyone who’s tangled with Lily Evansknows that she’s one who can keep a grudge. She’s normally quite stubborn, and once you’ve made her angry with you, it takes a lot to change her perspective. Around close friends, she’s more forgiving, but otherwise, watch out. She’s got a horrible temper, and her patience level isn’t so great either. And Lily’s definitely not afraid to make a scene. If she’s stressed out, it’s best for your own personal safety to leave her be.

Looks
Distinguishing Features: Lily was never reckless enough to get either tattoos or piercings, excluding her ears, as her parents got her ears pierced when she was quite young. Of course, her most apparent physical features would be her hair and eyes, and more subtly, the light freckles that speckle nearly every inch of her body. Of course, it would be obvious to say that she stands out in a crowd as it is, personality aside.

Not-so-distinguishing features: Everything about Lily gives off an air of grace and agility, even more so if she's walking. Hardly any movement seems awkward or forced, and this, of course, stands for her personality as well. Her short stature and limbs seem to be suited very well for each other. She is also extremely expressive with her hands and facial expressions, and will commonly use her hands in various gestures to illustrate any conversation, even more so if she's excited or agitated. Her voice is very smooth, not irritatingly high-pitched or lilting.

She doesn’t like to think much about what she wears, opting for more casual and comfortable than stiff and primped. Normally, she'll wear a simple pair of denim jeans and a fitted t-shirt, perhaps a more extravagant top of she's in the mood for such. Being raised in a Muggle environment, she rather prefers their clothing. She doesn’t much like to wear bright colors, seeing as her hair does that much for her already. She’ll commonly wear darker neutrals, like warm browns or darker greens. During classes, she, obviously, wears her robes, donned with the Gryffindor emblem.

Appearance: It isn’t uncommon for acquaintances to identify her by her hair. Without a doubt, it stands out. Contrasting greatly with her pale complexion, it’s a dark, fiery red in color, and falls about halfway down her back. It hasn’t been cut in a while, and there may be a few stray split ends scattered amongst the strands. Naturally, it’s at a comfortable medium between straight and curly, and the only time you could ever find it completely straight is if it’s wet. She doesn’t do much with it, other than pull it up if it’s in her way.

Her eyes completely dominate her face, no question about it. Besides her hair, her eyes are probably one of her most conspicuous physical qualities. Again, they stand out her pale complexion, large and almond shaped, almost giving her an aura of innocence. At a glance, they’re purely a vivid green, but upon closer examination, one would discover that darker shades cling to the iris, whilst specks of gray are scattered around the outer rim, creating almost a tie-dye effect. If the light hits them just right, they appear to be more gray, but otherwise, they are simply described as a deep green.

Lily is extremely expressive with her face, and her eyes tend to completely mirror emotions. For instance, if she’s happy, they appear to sparkle and dance, or if she’s angry, they’ll narrow into near slits and seem to smolder. This ability describes probably her entire face, especially when she’s trying otherwise. Her facial expressions will completely mirror her emotions, and she hates having her thoughts splayed out like an open book. It’s nearly impossible for Lily to keep her expression neutral. If she’s worried about something, wrinkle lines will appear on her brow, and naturally remain so for quite a while, and when she laughs too hard, her nose crinkles and slight dimples will magically emerge in both corners of her mouth.

She’s inherited most of her facial structure from her mother, high cheekbones, a small and slightly upturned nose, and a common oval shape to her face overall. The only visible thing she’s gotten from her father’s side of the genes is her strong, determined chin, which juts out the tiniest bit, and her very pale skin color. She’s also known to blush very easily, especially when she’s angry or excited. Lightly colored freckles are lightly sprinkled across her nose and cheeks, and everywhere else

Place of Birth: Spinner's End, England.

Immediate family: “My parents? Victoria and Gregory Evans, both Muggles. I love both of them to bits; they’ve given me a childhood I can look back and remember fondly, which seems to say a lot, nowadays. My older sister, Petunia, is a bit of a different story. We don’t see eye-to-eye much, even if we used to be the best of friends prior to my Hogwarts acceptance letter. ”

Extended family: “I’ve got boatloads of relatives; cousins, aunts, uncles, that sort of thing. However, I rarely see them often, unless you count the holidays.”

Other important people: “It’s sort of a given, but the school year wouldn’t be the same without my friends. Severus is, and always has been, one of my closest friends, as well as Marlene and a few others."

Pets: An elf owl, named Rosie.

History: Lily Marie Evans was born on January 30th, to a Vivian and Gregory Evans in a small home tucked in the winding streets of Spinner’s End, England. She grew up surrounded by a loving and well cared for environment, always having her proud parents and protective older sister by her side. The two sisters were common playmates from a very young age, and were, in other words, very close growing up.

By Lily’s tenth birthday, both could sense that she was a bit different; however, the unusual occurrences didn’t begin until a few months after her birthday. Lily found that she could do whatever she wanted by simply thinking it, especially if she was feeling particularly happy or upset. Of course, her sister was the first to know of this discovery, which Lily demonstrated by launching the neighbor’s cat over the fence without even touching it. Instead of being excited or proud for her younger sister, Petunia was horrified, maybe even a bit frightened by what her sister could do. This wasn’t normal. Yet, Petunia spoke nothing of the trouble that radiated from Lily’s new abilities until the younger sibling befriended Severus Snape, followed closely by her admittance to Hogwarts, both of which confirmed that Lily was indeed a witch. It was then that Petunia’s disdain became more pronounced, and she openly criticized her sister out of pure jealousy and spite.

Both Lily and Severus traveled by the Hogwarts express and entered the Great Hall together when it came time for The Sorting, but to their minor disappointment, Lily was immediately sorted into Gryffindor, and Severus followed the family tradition of being a Slytherin. The house rivalries became obvious as the weeks wore on, but it made no difference to Lily. Who cared what other people thought when it came to who she chose to be friends with? They continued to be close, even as it became increasingly difficult due to their obvious differences in groups of friends; the summer months were when they had the most time to reconnect.

Academically, it was obvious from the very start that Lily was going to excel. She easily became a favorite amongst the professors, mostly because she was so eager to learn and was actually capable of retaining what she was taught, which spoke volumes for students of their generation. The desire to learn new things about the magical world she had known nothing about only a few years before encouraged her more than anything to receive high marks. Lily was soon one of the top students, along with Black and Potter,, which frustrated her to no end. It seemed that they hardly lifted a finger to get good marks, whereas she was constantly studying, rewriting, rereading.

The rivalry between them became increasingly more obvious, especially between James and Lily, once he set her eyes on her during their second or third year. The first few times he asked her out, she turned him down nicely, only because she wasn’t one to be needlessly rude. However, when it became clear that he wasn’t getting the message, the rejection became more and more pronounced. Not only was he irritatingly persistent, but he was absolutely full of himself. It was like he was convinced all of Hogwarts should throw themselves down at his feet, like he was practically a Quidditch god and should be treated as such. Their disagreements became widely known among the Gryffindors as well as the other houses, and it’s safe to say that Lily’s set on disliking him until they graduate. Poor bloke.

It’d be an understatement to say that Lily looks forward to the start of the school year. She loves being able to visit with her parents; however, Petunia is set on being absolutely awful whenever Lily’s at home. They’ve forged a truce of sorts, a façade they put forth for the sake of their parents, but it’s behind closed doors that they often fight. To Lily, Hogwarts has become a second home; she’s anxious to start her fifth year, to see everyone she’s missed.

Approved by Spider! And by Fox, actually. ^_^ I was waiting for her feedback, since Snape interacts with Lily more than Sirius does.

Let me know if you want a personal space for Lily in the Private Thoughts board, and what you'd like the title/description to be.

I have seen no evidence of play during the allotted time. You're gone.

You may reapply if you want, but I dont' think that's likely.
