I worked last night but did get home before this episode aired but I wished I hadn't watched it, I should have just recorded it to view today. I was so tired last night that while my eyes were functioning my brain wasn't. I really couldn't absorb a lot of what was happening. I'm going to re-watch it later today but I now know who the unsub is so that is a bit of a bummer. A couple of things that did sink in were: Spoiler: click to toggle Thanks suceress! The spoiler tags worked. |

Glad it works. I'm hoping to be awake tonight. I'm a bit distracted. My elderly friend (who is like a grandfather to me) is in the hospital now. |

I noticed Blake's one line as well and was instantly shocked. I wonder what the writers were thinking with that one. Suceress, I am sorry to hear about your friend and am sending warm thoughts your way. |

Thanks Laura. He is in the ICU but is insisting on going home tomorrow. He told his family he would never forgive them if they made him stay longer. He wanted to go today but the hospital staff said he is so fragile he would not live more than a few days. I finally saw the episode but I had distractions during it. Both during Reid scenes. My dogs decided to start howling and I couldn't hear the TV. Then my mother called on the phone and wouldn't shut up, even though I explained to her that I was in the middle of watching a program. She was all "Oh, it will just air again later tonight" and I said "No, it won't". But she kept talking. I don't have a problem with Blake asking Reid if he had Aspergers. I wish there had been an answer. But I did have a problem with the timing and the way they did it. It just didn't seem natural and it didn't seem like the appropriate time. Plus they once again tried to make Reid look like an idiot. The fact that his response to "What about you?" was "What's that?" made him seem more like he had ADHD rather than Aspergers. I have known people with Aspergers and they aren't dull. They notice things and they listen. They even pick up on little things you say sometimes. And later he was all "When did you do that?" I can only accept it as not being stupidity or bad writing if I fanwank that Reid was actually aware of what she said and was just messing with her. I don't think that he currently exhibits AS traits nowadays anyway. It just seemed so forced. The Beth stuff.. Ugh... She needs to just go away already. She was so pathetic that she wanted Hotch to ask her to stay but he's all "Please, move to New York and be farther away from me". I kept thinking I wish she was moving to Alaska or the north pole or something. I think we saw too much of the family members that were being held captive and the whole drama did not interest me at all. It was just too.. I dunno.. It just didn't do anything for me. I didn't feel for any of them and I felt it was boring. I was mildly interested in seeing what happened, but I wasn't entertained. Of course, I was upset about my friend at the time and had the distractions so maybe that sort of ruined it for me. |

I agree suceress about not minding that Blake asked Reid about him having Aspergers but disliked the timing of it as well. But when Reid asked "What's that" I was thinking that he didn't hear her. Something seemed to be a bit off to me not only with this scene but with the whole episode. I don't know if it is the writing or the direction or both. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. The acting from both guest and regular cast was uneven IMO. Even though we learn who the unsub is at the end I didn't find it all that suspenseful. The promo didn't help either as I knew that Braden would be caught after he escaped because the promo showed him behind "the looking glass". Maybe my indifference to this episode is because I was stupid and watched it when I was too tired after working Tuesday night. I have to admit I'm planning to be stupid again next Tuesday night as I have to work that night again but since it is the beginning of the gf storyline I don't think I will be able to not watch. Plus I'm not sure but I think this is the episode where EM and/or VW said that Reid's headaches will be brought up. With regards to Hotch and Beth I really did not like those 2 scenes and this is coming from someone who does like the 2 of them together. They just seemed too overly sweet IMO. It's obvious that they are now sleeping together but it seems to me they've missed a step. Hotch went through a lot of trauma with a divorce that he didn't want and then Hayley and Jack going away under protection and then finally Hayley getting killed by Foyett. While I don't want a soap opera I would have liked to see a line or scene where Hotch contemplates that next step with another woman. Plus I don't think that a recurring character needs to have a send off let alone a 3 episode one. She could just be mentioned every now and then. |

Reid not having heard her did not occur to me at first. On one hand, I would think he'd be trying to listen to his teammates so he would be trying to hear and paying attention. However, I know how noisy planes can be so maybe with the noise he just didn't hear it. I completely agree about the Beth/Hotch stuff! The sneak peek for episode 4 actually has the headache part. Spoiler: click to toggle The mystery woman has an unsub-ish quality to her. I'll say more in the "God Complex" thread once more people weigh in. My internet has been going out a lot so I can't always answer quickly. It was out for 14 hours earlier and I don't know what is wrong. I think my ISP is trying to force me to "upgrade" to their new more expensive "service" by making my current service suck even more than it usually does. |
