well, this is a well-written one since you have to keep guessing who the real unsub is.
It is so nice not to know who it is from the beginning. The suspense keeps things more interesting.
The Prentiss lines were well-written, too as we know it is hard to get over what happened to her and the trauma wasn't just brushed under a rug. Not much Reid but that was expected since we wouldn't want tooooo much Reid after his last episode. Ironically, there was at least 2 stop-smoking product ads during the hour. ROTFL
The hair is still getting there. :D

I liked it! Of course there could always be more Reid but otherwise I liked it. The actors were good and just like Babruin I liked that we didn't know who the unsub was right away.

I liked the episode as well. I just wish it had more of the regular cast in it. Aside from PB and TG the others were hardly in it. I liked the story and the guest actors did a great job. I'm just a bit confused as to how did The Piano Man know of The Orderly? The Orderly admitted to not knowing who The Piano Man was. Initially only one victim reported the second attack to the police and the other victims only came forward after the kidnapping made the news. I guess The Piano Man was keeping an eye on his victims?

I have to say the whole thing with unsub/unsubs was convoluted and not really resolved satisfactorily. It wasn't clear what the motivations for either were and it wasn't clear how the first guy knew to plant evidence to implicate the second guy.

They also messed up by giving misinformation for Reid to spew. The thing about the music came from one single article and has no other evidence or writing to back it up. It wasn't reliable and just about every single person I've talked to stated that it does not hold true for them. Music is like food and people have vast and varied tastes. There are far too many variables to accurately predict what era or genre of music would affect people of specific eras or age groups.

Then the neoprene thing was off. Neoprene is used in wetsuits. Most doctors in the US use Nitrile-- and not because they are allergic, but because many patients are allergic. I've never seen neoprene surgical gloves but I know there are nitrile and vinyl ones as alternatives to latex. I prefer nitrile since the vinyl ones aren't as flexible and seem more brittle.

Other than that, the episode was ok.

I don't mean to sound contrary suceress but I did a quick google of neoprene surgical gloves and neoprene is used for surgical gloves because of allergies to both health care professionals and patients.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_glove

One article said the allergy rate in health care professionals was about 17%. As I understand it though surgeons still prefer latex as it is more flexible.

As for music while I have not looked into any research in that but just by my own personal experience lately I can appreciate what Reid said even if it is not true. My teenage years were the late 70's-early 80's, just like the piano man, and my musical taste was pop and disco music. As I grew older it turned to rock and adult contemporary with a bit of classical music thrown in as well. Recently one of my favourite radio stations changed it's format from adult contemporary to dance music AKA disco. While I was not amused at first I started to hear music from my teenage years as well as the current dance music. I love hearing the old songs I've not heard in a long time and it has made me be more appreciative of the current dance music. Lately I've had the urge to go out dancing again like I did back then.

Ahh. Ok. Thank you for that Mirri. I didn't realize they used neoprene. I should have looked it up myself but I was being lazy. I still thought that it was off for Reid to say that a surgeon would only wear neoprene if they themselves were allergic to latex-- which is the way his statement came off. I know someone who is a nurse who says no one at her hospital uses latex anymore because of possible allergies for patients.
I know the gloves they have Reid wearing on the show are generally nitrile.

(I don't mind anyone correcting me if I'm wrong on something. I would rather be corrected and know the truth than remain ignorant).

Did anyone else think they didn't quite have enough evidence to arrest the first suspect? He was an orderly so he had gloves. It's not a crime to have those gloves. It was all circumstantial. Without the victim ID (which probably wouldn't hold up in court since she was barely conscious) I doubt they had much of a case. But he did sort of confess...

You're welcome suceress. And yes, I too didn't think they had enough evidence to arrest the orderly. If he had listened to his lawyer and kept his mouth shut I don't think he should have been arrested. Then again they arrested the wanna be governor in 25 to Life with no real evidence against him (I'm one of the few who quite liked that episode, except for the very weak ending).

I actually liked "25 to Life" up until the ending when it just turned into some of the worst writing in CM history. I know in a lot of the stories they really wouldn't call the team in realistically so I could overlook some of the plot holes in the beginning, but the slow clap confrontation was just unforgivable.

I got very bored and looked up the different types of medical gloves.

Neoprene

Nitrile comes in white, black, various shades of blue, pink, orange, red, green, teal, lavender, and purple.

Latex comes in white and yellow.

Vinyl comes in clear.
