WTF was that *bleep*?
Seriously... W T F ?!!!!
They killed characterization AND continuity... I mean, it was worthy of a chuckle... but not at the expense of characterization.. That was NOT the behavior of the previously established characters Morgan and Reid.... Did Breen Frazier have a stroke that rendered him retarded? Or did he smoke crack before writing it?

I just keep coming back to W T F?!!

ARGH!!! I know, Reid went to CalTech for his 3 degrees!!!    I don't think he had time to go to MIT for any of his BA's since he went directly to the BAU after graduation and the commute to Boston would not be feasible from Quantico.
And I agree, totally out of character for him to be PO'ed over constant phone calls. It's cute but annoyingly cloy. Notthisagain It's like they're trying toooo hard to have them be more warm, fuzzy humans.

Ok, I've calmed down a bit after that tantrum.
I feel like a Star Trek-living in Mom's basement fanatic who argues about the misuse of Quark theory at Comic-Con conventions. Notthisagain But honestly, it is a slap in the face to hard-core CM fans who actually reads the stuff put on Garcia's computer screens. It did say his three PhDs are from Cal-Tech.
Besides from the cutesie prank war, it was an OK episode. I got confused with all the constant introductions of red herrings and HEY, another disgruntled alumni. It was hard to feel for the victims without sufficient background on them to really care what was happening to them.

I liked the episode. Far from the greatest but pretty good for what we've gotten the last 2+ years. I loved the phone call scene. I can totally relate as I hate getting lots of calls. Unfortunately I have had a couple of phone related outbursts that I'm not proud of and those who witnessed them were so surprised as I'm not one to lose my temper so easily. So I won't say Reid was out of character as I've never before seen how he reacts to getting a lot of phone calls.
The MIT thing didn't bother me. I know Reid mentioned that he went to Caltech (Memoriam?) but I don't remember it ever being mentioned that he got all his degrees there. Someone on another board said that it was written on Garcia's computer screen once but I don't usually see what is on her screen with my crappy old tv. Plus I don't take heed to that as once they apparently had jibberish, just some random letters on screen.
What did bother me was that Rossi was working on the original case in 2001 even though he said when he first came back to the BAU that he hadn't seen Hotch in 10 years. When was JM's first episode, 2007? Rossi would have been retired then.
Another thing that bothered me was Prentiss figuring out that something was wrong with Jack. I don't know why. I would have preferred if it were J.J.
I also didn't like that Emily and J.J were playing online games together. Any computer geek can apparently figure out who J.J was playing with. Garcia did that at least once, in Fisher King. If Doyle had any doubt about Emily's death he could have found out where she was.
After all the teasing that Morgan has been giving Reid the last few years I'm glad he is getting back at Morgan. I really would have much preferred it though if Reid started singing instead of screaming on Morgan's head phones and phone.

Edit to say that I didn't see what BABruin wrote about Garcia's screen as I've been writing and cooking at the same time.

I think that Reid swearing before answering the phone was in character, but starting to berate whoever called was not. I've gotten annoyed at constant phone calls but I generally put on a nice tone to answer. If it is a political thing or someone trying to sell me a new credit card or someone asking for charity I hang up. I can't stand panhandlers. And if you donate when they call you by phone, the company that handles the phone calls gets 80% of the proceeds-- and most of the calls aren't even for legitimate charities... Sorry.. Ranting..

Where was I?

The logical thing for Reid to do would be to ask the callers how they got his number. If someone claimed to be him on the news he could ask for a description. But nooo, they would rather go for the punchline that sacrificed characterization and intelligence.

Yes, Rossi retired in 1997.

Morgan pretending to be Reid and giving out his phone number to the press-- Misrepresenting himself and giving a private number out-- was especially egregious to me. Especially since it was in the middle of a case.

I liked that Morgan couldn't shut his iPod off, but the screaming seemed more Matthew than Reid. It felt like a gag reel rather than the show.

It actually seemed more like NCIS than CM.

Articles from Garcia's computer:
This one says Reid got his first PhD from Caltech at 17 and explains why he chose Caltech instead of MIT and Stanford.

This one says that Reid has three doctorates from Caltech (and joined the BAU at age 22):
