There are a couple of promos up at the roundtable blog. http://criminalmindsroundtable.blogspot.com/ Looks like the unsub is wearing a mask. Could it be that we will actually get an episode where we don't see his face right away?

Strauss is coming back to scrutinize the team?????? Well, I hope for more scenes of Reid being defiant toward her!!! Cue the snarls and curling lips!!!!! The Puppy-dog death-glare!!!!! Can't wait!!! But I can't see this one until the 25th and if I can get the recorder to work properly. It'll be fun to catch up on the reviews later. And those lovely screencaps, too!!!! |

Yes, yes and yes! I hope so too. I don't think there is anything more sexy and adorable than a pissed off Reid. I think JM speculated quite some time ago that we will get to see something about an ex-wife this season. We are running out of time with only 4 episodes remaining. There has been much speculation in the internet world since Rossi mentioned that he had 3 ex-wives that Strauss is one of them. I wonder if this speculation will come to fruition in this episode. |

Hello Scream movies! I was just waiting to hear popcorn popping in the Lily-scene. Not one of the best but not too bad either - like so many episodes nowadays. I loved how ethousiastic Reid was about horror movies! He seemed more relaxed now. There seems to be a lot of Seaver hating going on but I really don't understand that. |

I really enjoyed this episode. One of the better ones this season IMO. There was suspense, we didn't get to see the unsubs face until about half way through. Absolutely loved the opening horror movie scene. Didn't like that Garcia yet again just had to punch a few things into the computer and voila! there is the unsub! There were a couple of WTF moments for me. First when Rossi, on the way to step-mom's, said to turn on the lights hence announcing to the unsub that the cops were on the way. The second when Hotch spoke into his mike saying they need backup only AFTER the unsub was dead and not before when Rossi was racing down the hallway and Hotch and Seaver were moving out of range. |

I loved the beginning of this. I love that we got to see the team on their time off. Seaver is growing on me. I loved the narration about what goes on in horror movies coinciding with the parallels of the victims and unsub. I really loved that we had some mystery and didn't get to see who the unsub was. The whole slasher film feel was cool-- and in some ways it felt a lot more like the old days. There was a good mix of horror, suspense, profiling, and humor. Interesting that Hotch wasn't assessed by anyone and he seems to be quite upset but isn't talking to anyone. He really looked worried about Strauss at the end. I love how Thomas Gibson can convey so much with his eyes. It wasn't just curiosity-- it was compassion and concern. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up having cancer or something. I do agree that partway through I got a little lost. Things were going fine until they decided to turn the sirens on. They could have taken the unsub by surprise.. And the confronting the unsub without guns by going in to the house to talk to him really didn't make sense to me. Plus Reid and Morgan had disappeared.. although I get that they were somewhere else. Other than the ending part, I think this was probably one of my favorites this season. Oh, and we learned that Reid rode a bike in college even though he could drive-- so I think he probably drove his mother places back in Vegas. LOL. Interesting that they said he was in college at 14 when he graduated at 12-- although maybe he had learned to drive by 14 and was riding his bike at that age (perhaps he had a ride from someone else at ages 12-13). Interesting fact: In some states a child can get a special permit to drive at age 14 if a parent is disabled. Also, some states just give out licenses earlier. I was driving at 13 (but not on paved roads) and had my license at 14. |

Finally had a chance to watch this one after tackling a mountain of laundry and unopened mail. Whew! I liked that we get to see the team relaxing with each other in a personal moment. It really make this episode more enjoyable than just a routine case (which it actually is since it reminded me a lot of Aftermath, guy stalking by getting personal data from his job). MGG must have had a good time doing his spooky horror story voice when talking about horror movies. And who wouldn't have wanted to go to the movies with Reid and listen to him over-analyze it??? yeah, I agree, it was strange that Rossi thought it was a good idea to sound the sirens thereby alerting the unsub. Ya think that would make him finish her off faster. Strange how Seaver is suddenly an expert hostage negotiator. No Reid on raid so we are back to vintage CM!!!!!

I'm slow to respond. My internet has been absolute crap. I was saying on the CBS forums that I wish we knew what Reid was doing while the rest of the team were raiding. Maybe he's packing up all of their stuff for them. Maybe he's in the bathroom having a bad reaction to some local food. Or maybe he's chatting with the locals and drinking tea/coffee from a floral motif mug.![]() (gif courtesy of alanajones.tumblr.com) |
