well, CM is certainly known as an equal opportunity venue, making sure that all subgroups and minorities not miss a chance to be a homicidal, deranged unsub. Apparently, next episode will focus on that much maligned, put-upon, and just ready to explode subgroup= yep, we're talking soccer Moms!!!!! Cue deranged music now! Heck yeah, we're ready to blow up city hall. We're not going to take it any more. After years of putting up with making everyone's lunches, music lessons, chauffeuring every darn kid in the neighborhood, sitting on those cold, hard bleachers for tedious games, it's about time someone goes ape crazy!!! hee, hee, hee. OK, I'm ready for this one. I think I'll put my mind on vacation and just enjoy the ride on this episode. Wheeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

I'll admit, when I saw the preview I thought about the fact that it is yet another episode with a spree killer where we see the unsub too soon and the BAU just plays catch-up so we probably won't get any solid profiling. Watching the promo video was disappointing for me. The plot didn't really grab me. All I could think was "Well, I hope it doesn't suck too much". |

Btw, here is the info for the episode: Season 6 Episode 20 Title: Hanley Waters Director: Jesse Warn Writer: Alicia Kirk & Randy Huggins Airdate: April 6, 2011 Synopsis: As the BAU investigates targeted killings in Tampa, they deal with their own feelings about the loss of Prentiss. Promo Video (with Italian subtitles) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRTN2mXoCZA Upon viewing the extended promo it looks a bit more interesting. The description about the team dealing with the loss of Prentiss makes me more interested. |

I'm glad they will hopefully spend some time delving into how the loss of Prentiss affected them. That would be more of a tribute than to have them never mention her again. Otherwise, it'll feel like "easy come ,easy go", she was expendable.

That was the first thing I didn't like about this episode. And that we saw too soon that it was about her loosing her child. There were some good moments too though, almost crying Reid is always cute. In the end it seemed that Hotch was talking to his team as much as to the unsub. |

yeah, I agree, seeing her lose her child early made this episode too predictable and by-the-number. I was impatiently waiting for them to say , oh there was a loss/accident and for Garcia to hurry up and do her magic fingers/instant data recall thing to locate the Dad. It was a rehash of Normal. BUT, the best thing was the team talking to Hotch about their feelings. We as fans needed to hear that Prentiss meant something to them and they are still hurting. It's like Elle never existed and Gideon barely gets a mention. I liked how Reid mentioned being in counseling after his Dad left but he managed to get away with just saying what adults want to hear. He really could outfox adults back then to keep them at bay. Poor kid. The whole reference to Jones when he told Gideon he wanted to walk away from the BAU was .So it seems that the writers are beholden to the wishes of CBS since they had to write JJ and Prentiss off the show. So since all the rest are having contracts up this or next year, are the writers under pressure from above to write possible exit strategies for the cast???? That seems to be the case since they constantly make hints like the headaches and now the team sounds like they're adrift and reconsidering staying on the team. |

I have mixed feelings about this episode. Another episode where we see the unsub before the opening credits. Another episode where Garcia and her computer finds out who the unsub is. I didn't like that Hotch was the one doing the assessment with Strauss' ok. I can understand that he would want to do it but I would imagine that she would want the bureau shrink to do it, with Hotch being the first one to be assessed after what he has gone through this last year. I'm wondering if she knows the truth about Emily so agreed to let Hotch do it. If not then I would have preferred if Hotch said he just wanted to see how everybody was coping. I still did like those scenes though, showing the different stages of grief the team are going through: Morgan anger, Garcia denial, Reid depression and Rossi acceptance. As for the case itself, it did seem very familiar. Babruin, I didn't think of "Normal" at the time but you're right it is a rehash. While I thought the script was not the greatest I do enjoy a good performance though and I thought Kelli Williams did a great job portraying Shelley. I usually don't catch continuity goofs but I think I caught 2 this episode. When Shelley's at the mall waiting for Don to show up there are 2 plates of pizza on the table and 2 soft drinks with a straw in each cup. Later when Hotch and Rossi are at the table the straw in Shelley's cup is missing. I don't remember seeing her taking it out or even drinking from the cup. The second goof is when Rossi and Hotch are talking in his office. At the end of that scene the camera pans out a bit to get both of them in the shot and it looks to me like Hotch is wearing jeans with his dress shirt, tie and jacket (unless it is just the crappy colours from my old tv). |

The scenes with the unsub were so incredibly boring that I walked out to check on my laundry. I apparently missed the scene with Reid talking to Hotch. Was it just me or did they jumble in the scenes of the team members at odd moments in the show? I really felt nothing for the unsub or her family. When I got the download for the computer I just fastforwarded through all of those scenes. Interesting that Morgan was talking to Hotch twice. I think Thomas Gibson did a great job at least. You could see the guilt on his face as he watched his team suffering. Especially when Reid was sort of crying. For a moment it looked like he wanted to tell him that Emily was alive-- or at least say something to him.I found it odd that they mentioned Reid was last on a couch like that when his father left. I had never gotten the impression that his teachers even knew about his situation (bc child services might have been called in over his mom). Plus he was on the couch for hypnosis in "Memoriam". I also suspect they would have sent him to a shrink after what happened in "Revelations". So I guess they didn't really keep up with continuity. |
