Wow, our interest in CM must be waning if no one cares to comment until Thursday after.
Too bad Paget doesn't get to show off her acting talent until CBS shows her the door.
The only nice thing I can say about it is that at least they show the team finally be concerned for each other. WOW, shocking! They actually will talk to each other about their personal life. Notthisagain
Finally Reid talks about his headaches to Prentiss.
Otherwise he disappears to go scouting for locations for the next episode.
Hair- hmmmmmmmm, a sleepy, sheepy look. :D

I had to wait until the baby sleeps to watch it till the end and post my comment. Yes Paget was great and I have to say I like these episodes which somehow concern a team member. Tooooo few Reid scenes!

I rather liked the episode. The Reid/Prentiss scene was my favourite part of the episode. I was a bit offput with Hotch knowing that Prentiss worked for Interpol at first. Prentiss did say to Hotch in her first episode of CM in season 2 that she has been in the FBI for 10 years, mostly in the Midwest. This case with Doyle was what, about 7 years ago? I was kind of expecting that her Interpol involvement would be a deep dark secret that nobody on the team knew about and that her 10 years was a cover up. When Hotch mentioned her time with Interpol I was thinking that the writers screwed up continuity yet again but someone on another site said that FBI agents can work or be loaned out to interpol. Whether this is true or not I don't know but it makes me feel a bit better anyways.
I'm guessing that the scenes in the roundtable room were some of the last scenes filmed in this episode as Garcia looked and sounded ill. From the pics tweeted by various cast and crew during the next episode, Lauren, Kirsten looked very ill. Reid sounded a bit hoarse in last night's ep. as well so I'm wondering if Matthew was ill as well.
I teared up at the end when Prentiss teared up looking at her team like it will be the last time she will ever see them.
This episode did not feel like a CM ep with all the international intrigue but, at least for me, it was a nice change of pace. I must admit though that while I've found this Prentiss exit arc to be fairly enjoyable, it has been a tad too long for me. Looking forward to Lauren in a couple of weeks. I hope they don't kill off Prentiss though. I really don't care if she goes in hiding or takes time off (in case PB does accept the season 7 contract that was offered to her) or if her fate will remain a mystery I just don't like the idea of killing off any one of the main characters. I hope Sergio will be all right, maybe Garcia or Reid will take him in case Emily can't.

Good points, Mirri. Hmmmm, since it sounds like CBS is leaving the door open for Paget to return next year if she so chooses, I also think she won't be killed off.
I hope she resolves the Ian Doyle situation by killing him (otherwise it'll make fans itchy to keep dangling that angle) and then disappears from the FBI so she'll keep the team safe from any repercussions. bitenails bitenails bitenails
As for the Interpol confusion, I guess the writers had to come up with a big bang-up of a send-off for Prentiss and yet still be able to fit it into her timeline.
So it will have to be convoluted and almost too implausible. If I was deathly afraid of someone who will come after me and had to fake a death to hide from them, I would hide out as a quiet litttle housewife in Chula Vista. I wouldn't be a BAU agent who appears in the news solving big, attention-getting cases whose face could be printed on newspapers everywhere. Oh well, it's only in TVland.

I'll add some comments later. In fairness, Prentiss thought that Doyle was locked up in a Russian prison for life. I don't think they let prisoners there have TV privileges so I doubt she expected to be recognized. Did I ever mention the time my father was deporting an IRA bomber back to Ireland? At the time the UK didn't know the US had the guy in custody and didn't have an extradition order. But this guy had bombed schools and schoolbuses (obviously killing innocent children). My father made sure to route the guy's plane trip through London (I think it was London). Then he casually mentioned to someone from the British Embassy that this guy was being deported and passing through the airport in London. Coincidentally the guy never made it back to Ireland. The authorities intercepted him in London and arrested him.

I really am sick of the TV / Movie theme where the person doesn't try to warn people or get help. It happens so many times. One movie stands out where the guy was in trouble and did everything he could think of to get help. It was "Nick of Time" with Johnny Depp and Christopher Walken. They were holding Depp's daughter hostage and were going to kill her unless he killed someone for them. It was some politician and they took him to where she was going to give her speech. Every time he tried to get to a phone to call the police or make an attempt to get help there was Christopher Walken or one of his people to stop him and remind him that they would kill his daughter. They even roughed him up after he missed an opportunity to kill the target. I won't spoil the ending though.

Wow, I got off track... Is it just me or has the sound changed a bit on the show? It seems somewhat louder. I noticed in Coda that everyone seemed louder (except Reid-- who I could barely hear in some scenes). I wonder if it has to do with the pitch of their voices or if it is just my speakers. Prentiss and her Interpol buddies seemed to be talking far too loudly on the subway.
Btw, the sign as she was entering the Metro indicated she was on the red line and that the platform led to Shady Grove (she wasn't in Shady Grove bc that is in Maryland- but SG is the terminus going the opposite way of Quantico). She would take the red line to Union Station and then take the Virginia Railway Express to Quantico. After that she'd have to make her way 10 miles west to the BAU HQ (unless it is a fictional building closer to Quantico-- the FBI Academy is not actually in Quantico-- it is in Triangle). I think they indicated that she sometimes drives to work though.. I wonder if she has a work car and a personal car and uses the personal car to get to the redline metro and then uses the work car to get to the BAU and back to the VRE.

My brother watched this with me and really made fun of the bad guy with the strange facial hair. It looked sort of like Hulk Hogan. My brother started doing impressions of Hogan- saying things like "What are you gonna do when the IRA runs wild on you, Brother!?" Now I can't look at that dude without laughing my a$$ off now.

I really loved that Reid opened up to Prentiss and told her about his headaches. I really think it was his attempt to get her to open up to him about whatever was wrong. He showed that he trusted her and was telling her something he hadn't told anyone else. I think she realized that she's not the only one with problems. She still cared despite all the crap she's dealing with right now. I think she was wishing she had more time to help him. For some reason the first time I saw it I thought that she was looking in her desk for something to be able to leave Reid a note with. I thought she wanted to tell him he secret. I was thinking she could have left a hint or written a note and stuffed it in his desk (possibly in the antacid bottle she was now hiding in her drawer-- probably to keep him from eating them). On second viewing I thought maybe she was looking to see if someone had looked through her drawer or taken something. I couldn't tell if something was missing or not.

I found it interesting that Reid said the other team members would make him "feel like a baby" rather than that they would treat him like a baby. In other words, he felt that if they knew he would feel weak or helpless.

I know they tried to explain some of his absence but he really did disappear too much. And then he went to go view some pictures and it seemed like he was going to find the shots of Prentiss at the Villa.. But the next time we see him, he's in the bullpen listening to Hotch give the profile and information. He obviously didn't find the pictures yet.

Btw, I noticed that Reid had a yellow heart-shaped post-it-note on his desk wall.

Did anyone else find it funny that Hotch was the one who noticed the victim's shoe wasn't on right? As soon as he went over to take the shoe off I had the sneaking suspicion the writers were making fun of Thomas Gibson's obsession with shoes/feet. Btw, the needle between the toes thing didn't bug me as much the first time, but I had to look away on subsequent viewings. It just squicked me out too much. I mean, did the needle really have to be THAT long? That was the only bit of violence that I thought was overdone in this episode. They could have shown the needle and the toes being spread and then cut to the shot of the victim reacting. Other than that I think they did things very well. Most of the violence was implied.

I liked that they explained that the IRA guys weren't bad shots and that they could have killed Prentiss and Morgan if they'd really been trying.

I also wish that Prentiss had taken the opportunity to tell Hotch and Morgan what was up with Doyle while in the SCIF. I know that it seems someone is spying inside the BAU bc they knew what Morgan, Garcia, Rossi, and Seaver were doing. And it was clear they were following Reid and Hotch.

Its wrong of me, but I found Tsia's death funny. Her face just looked funny through the peephole.

When Prentiss flushed the ring down the toilet and left her safe open I had the feeling she was planning to confront Doyle and wasn't sure if she was going to make it out alive and that she was leaving something for her team to look at to get more information.
Here's a screenshot of the ring.

I did notice that Hotch was saying that anyone who was pursuing Doyle would become a target. Prentiss didn't want her team to become a target. I was quite impressed with how Paget got her eyes to get watery but not shed tears. When she was looking at Reid and the rest of the team it was so sad. She was saying a silent goodbye (as well as thinking about how awful it would be to lose them). So sad when she slipped out of the room.

Other thoughts: The dream story to Garcia seemed weird. I liked the conversation with Rossi about Emily's mom and Italy. I really liked how Morgan was being supportive. I think the only one who didn't reach out to her was Hotch-- but then I think maybe a scene might have been cut. I liked that the "previously on Criminal Minds" was much shorter this time. The music was pretty good as well. I'm now convinced that one of Prentiss' former team members betrayed her (and the others). It's either Sean or Clyde-- but I'm thinking Sean bc Clyde just seemed exasperated when he realized Tsia didn't trust him.

While I'm disappointed that Prentiss didn't tell the team even though I thought she had opportunities, I think they made it clear she didn't know if someone was listening in-- and it was predictable that she would clam up. I'm looking forward to the next episode. Also, it stomped the spinoff in the ratings again (and the spinoff was up against a REPEAT of Law & Order: SVU). Imagine what CM's ratings would be if it wasn't against new episodes of American Idol?

well, I think Ian Doyle is going to have long arms and a network of spies looking out for his interest even when he is in jail.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Lookout Prentiss! Hmmm, so what is her dirty laundry?
Is it literally red unmentionables that she wore as the paramour to a drug kingpin?????
Is she deeply involved in nefarious activities or was she a pawn, undercover???
Inquiring criminal minds wants to know!!!!!
