LOL. He did seem to know about wigs and doll hair in "Uncanny Valley"... And I want those bunnies. Seriously, someone get them for me! I scared my dogs when I saw them because I started making a squee-ing noise. I bet Matthew would love that picture. |

Well it looks even more interesting. I'm actually getting a bit more excited to see this episode after originally not thinking it would be at all interesting. I hope the scenes in the previews are not the only scenes Reid is in. It looks like it might be quite a bit more gory than usual considering what Simon Mirren tweeted today. The episode had to be rated. http://twitter.com/simonmirren# |

Not only was the episode gory, it was boring as hell. Between the poor writing and the erratic directing this episode may be THE worst episode of CM that I have EVER seen. I want the last hour of my life back! The writing: The characters were cliche, boring, uninteresting, and predictable. I felt nothing for them. I just kept saying "Get the hell off my screen so I can see the team". The whole story itself was so generic that (barring a couple of scenes) they could have just replaced the CM team with other random cops and it would have played out the same. There was no explanation about exactly when or how they started killing together. I had no sympathy or pity when they whined about being abused. No explanation of how they managed to drive across state lines without anyone noticing them (when they were both drinking and in an open-top car).. You'd think somewhere they would have been pulled over or noticed. Also no explanation as to why psycho girl suddenly cared about the half-sister... Oh, and then how the hell did the guy have an SUV while INSIDE the building? This episode made no sense. And did I mention that it was BOOOORIIING. The directing: Some of their victims just seemed to be phoning it in... I wonder if they filmed all of Matthew's scenes in a single day and just told him to talk as quickly as possible and not bother to articulate so he could get his lines out and go get on a plane to Tokyo. I know Reid talks fast sometimes, but he almost slurred. The whole thing felt so disjointed. It seemed like they spent all of the time working on the explosions, special effects, and stupid disgusting make-out scenes that they ignored a lot of important small details. There were no subtle nuances. The Prentiss thing at the end just seemed like it was thrown in and that they really didn't have time for it... The episode was not cohesive at all. The ONLY high points were when Reid was talking about the various steps of the AA/NA programs and Hotch was giving him that look. I think the actors did a good job with what little they were given. Then we actually got an explanation as to why Reid disappeared at the end. But even that was not really all that sensible. I know its not unheard of for Reid to speak to the press (he was interviewed in articles on his father's computer), but it seemed odd that he was so confident while speaking and suddenly had no headaches or any mention to the previous episode.... The bit with Prentiss at the end was interesting but still felt off somehow... I really only want to give this episode half of a and 4 and a half

I may ask one of my friends on Tumblr to just cut out all of the Reid scenes (there aren't many) and put them on Youtube. It wasn't even so much gory as it was boring. They just kept shooting (and holding their guns in lame ways that would actually break their wrists). And there was a gratuitous explosion.. But it was boooooring. They had a line from Reid that seemed out of character and odd.. The body count was stacking up and Reid said something about it being just like another day in medieval times.. WTF? Reid was so stressed out last episode but in this one he was practically numb. He even talked to reporters. Then they told him to go back to the police station (as an excuse to explain his absence). Would have been funny if someone had mentioned sushi or said "sayoonara". I wonder how Reid got home.. They left him in an entirely different state. LOL. I think the team members themselves were in 10 minutes or less of the episode and the rest was all unsub crap. They missed opportunities for some very good character moments. The only way this one would be entertaining is if you were watching it with someone who was making fun of it to entertain you.. Did I mention the particularly cheesy and poorly done scene where the unsub suddenly sees a glowing image of his dead bride floating and wearing a wedding dress and she's reaching out her hand to him and he's floating and wearing a tux and reaches out to her and their hands are about to touch and then she's suddenly yanked away? It was so poorly done that it was laughable. They really need to fire both the writer AND the director. Then maybe they can get back some of the old writers.... |

yeah, this one is definitely not one of my favorites since I don't care for unsub-focused ones. This one is worse than the Frankie Muniz one where he was doing his "Malcontent in the Middle" stint but at least, that had better inter-team squabbling between Reid and Morgan. This one had the team barely talking to each other. Reid's headaches isn't mentioned so it's like last week never happened! The nihilistic violence was too much for me to watch esp. coming so close after the carnage in Arizona. Not watching this one again. The Reid scenes was so few and his hair was doing that "little boy going to school with bedhair cuz Mom couldn't get it to slick back down" look. |

I'm very surprised to say that I actually liked this episode. For one thing Reid was in it more than I thought as this was the episode they were filming when Matthew went to Japan. Sure I was disappointed with no follow up to last week's episode, at least that I could see on first viewing, but I was expecting and prepared that it was going to be unsub focused from the start. They could have most certainly have shown less of the shooting sprees and the sex scenes. I wonder what the criteria is for the networks to rate an episode and give a parental warning. Last week we saw a headless human body and headless birds, a finger rolling on the floor, bags with severed hands in them, crime scene photos with the victims arms cut off, yet that episode was not rated. Perhaps it was because they actually showed the shooting this episode instead of just the after effects. I thought the 2 main guest actors did a great job. I liked the direction and the camera work, particularly the shots that were taken as if it were from their cell phones. If this ep had less shooting and sex scenes and more team scenes I would probably consider it a great episode. I'm one of the few who liked the Franki Muniz episode True Night, at least on original viewing. It lost it's lustre for me on repeat viewings due to lack of main characters and I suspect this episode will be the same. I'm still really surprised that I liked this episode. |

I liked True Night because of the team interactions and it was an interesting episode for me. I never liked the show Frankie Muniz was on and never thought he was that great of an actor from watching it, but he was ok in that episode. I actually hated the shots taken from the point of view of the cell-phone cameras because they moved too much, were blurry, and started to give me motion sickness (I get motion sickness VERY easily though). I really didn't get the sense that the couple was in love though... I don't know.. It just seemed too forced and the characters were cliche and boring... |

Not my fav either. It's funny though that they always send Reid to the morgue. I understand that they don't want to give too much screen time to personal strory lines like last week's Reid thing but the episodes don't seem to have any continuity at all anymore. |

I'm disappointed by this episode... There are no surprises! I mean we knew quickly what the killers wanted to do! And I'm so angry! Reid was NORMAL! I can't believe the writers do that. That doesn't make sense. He can't feel good after the last episode. We didn't want a new Reid episode, but he could have suffered of headaches (discretly) and worn sunglasses. Then, violence was too present ("He was sodomized by a iron tire". Nice... I'm happy to know this important detail. ) and we didn't see a lot the team... In this episode? 25 minutes of shots, sex and violence. 10 minutes for the team. 5 minutes for Emily... I'm still looking for a FAMILY team. But I liked the killers. The actors were good and the camera work was wonderful. At last, I'm also stressed and I want to know what will happen to Emily... |
