I'm just surprised and slightly proud that he caught it. Unfortunately my spelling and grammar are stuck to the bottom of the drain. so its not like I can complain. I'm sure I have annoyed a few ppl here and I'm sorry for any strain/annoyance it does cause. As I've gotten older I've started to appreciate the written language more and am attempting to avoid using net shorthand, just save it for sms and the occasional twitter update.
I luv ur net shorthands! :D
well then I'll keep it up but only for you

LOL.
I feel sorry for people who take English as a second language. The grammar is complex enough that it gives native speakers trouble. Especially when things change with common usage but the textbooks don't update to reflect the changes.

We have words that sound the same but have different spellings (and mean different things based on spelling).
Like the difference between capital and capitol, principal and principle, stationery and stationary, and so on.

I really liked a comedy routine by Gallager (guy who smashed watermelons with a giant sledgehammer for his slapstick part) where he talked about English words and how they were spelled vs how they were pronounced. It really made me laugh.

And then we have Groucho Marks who really had a great grasp of English and the various puns, double-meanings, and such. He was hilarious. I think a LOT of his comedy is lost on modern audiences.

As unfortunate as it would be for him to lose his lovely mane of hair it could happen. His Grandpa Maxwell Kelch seemed to have had a receding hairline in his thirties.
