Cool! His shirts are too expensive for me. I don't buy shirts over $10 usually and I try to keep it at $5 or below. I have slippers like the ones he was wearing. |

Aww. Kitties love to scratch things, but don't mean any harm. Although mine used to deliberately throw things at my head while up on shelves. One liked to find model airplanes and throw them at me when I wasn't paying enough attention to her. |

Halloween is a holiday invented in the USA. It was originally created to give children and teens something to do so they would not be destructive. I believe it was in the '20s, but I could be wrong on the date. People knew it was supposed to be some sort of event day and the children would "celebrate" by being destructive. They would vandalize buildings and set fire to things and would burn buildings down. It got to be a big problem. So the governing bodies got together and discussed coming up with something to funnel the energy in to something else. They knew that in Europe there had been a thing where for some day involving souls, children would go door to door and would offer to pray for the souls of loved ones of the people they visited in exchange for breads. The original jack-o-lantern was a turnip. I think they combined a few things and created Halloween. Instead of the groups of children (mostly teenage boys) being destructive, now they could dress up in costumes and trick-or-treat. It became a good marketing thing for companies that made candy just for Halloween-- in fact, a lot of candy in the US was not even sold year round and was only sold around Halloween. Eventually they realized there was a broader year-round market and they started selling candy constantly. That is a bastardized version of the history based on my memory of a documentary on the History channel about Halloween. I will say that it is not a universal thing in the US. Some people think Halloween is "evil" and do not celebrate it. In some places it is outright banned. The current mayor of my town cancelled Halloween last year (but didn't announce that trick-or-treating was banned until 2 days before Halloween). People bought a bunch of candy and then were told that it was illegal for children to trick-or-treat. Apparently Halloween is HUGE in Nevada. Some friends from there told me that people really go all out and it is probably why Matthew loves Halloween so much. Btw, I updated the synopsis on episode 5 of CM. Apparently JJ will be upset because Henry does not want to celebrate Halloween. |

Filming for the episode Matthew is directing has started already. I think Matthew is very excited. Shemar Moore posted a picture on Twitter.![]() I find the body language interesting. Matthew is leaning toward Shemar and has his elbows out. His left leg is pointed sort of toward Jeanne. Shemar is spread out with elbows out and is very relaxed. Thomas is leaning toward Shemar but has an elbow out toward Joe. Joe is leaning toward Thomas but has his body turned a bit toward AJ. AJ has both lower and upper body turned toward Joe and is leaning in with her elbows out. Jeanne seems to be the outlier here with her arm very straight and leaning slightly away. I wonder if she was trying to get comfortable in the seat when the photo was taken. Edited by suceress, Oct 19 2012, 09:50 PM.
